terrific nerve pain
I have sciatica from lumbar disc pressure with terrific pain down my right leg and feet. Pain killers don't help. My doc is talking about an operation but I'd rather not. My cousin who suffers for years from diabetes with nerve pain told me she is taking Neurofencine with wonderful results. She says I should try it. This supplement contains g-agmatine. Does anybody have more information? I am desperate for a solution!

You might also copy this over to our Spinal forum for more input, they might have therapy ideas or other suggestions for the sciatica/lumbar disc pressure.
here is the link to it - http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum22.html |
This product is a derivative of l-arginine. (amino acid)
I think this is the study they refer to for "spinal pain relief" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20447305 This is what the website says: http://www.fornervehealth.com/Resear...L_NERVE_HEALTH There are many pages of studies on PubMed on this metabolite of arginine. But I could only find one human study on pain. This product is being "re-launched" meaning it has been around for a while and now is being promoted again. It appears to be quite expensive...at about $60 a month for the higher dose use. So if you decide to try it, please let us know what you discover. So far the website is using a graphic based on the experiments on bacteria and animals to promote use in humans. So IMO it is uncharted territory so far. |
Thanks guys. I'll try the Spine link and hope for a quick response. Anyway, I think I will give this treatment a try.

Have you seen a pain management doctor? They can sometimes offer other treatments/procedures then meds and surgery.
|
In my experience with the pain mgmnt center at Hopkins, they are in the dept of anesthesiology and initially run a gamut of pain meds before considering any alternative recommendations or referrals to others. They are pill pushers.
|
they also seem to push epidurals
|
irisdalig, how long ago did this pain start and how was it diagnosed? The natural course of acute disc pain is that it subsides in 80-90% of folks within 6 months. If meds don't help, then an epidural steroid injection can be helpful for pain relief. If this is a more chronic condition, then a new approach would be warranted

anyway, i tired it all for 3 years and finally had some surgery. best move i ever made. L2-3 laminectomy and almost immediate relief of that pain. i also have L5-S1 pain in the back of my leg; tradidtional sciatic pain. but I currently control hat with cortisone shots about every 6 months. |
Thank you all for the input. Fabdou, I had my condition for about two months when it was diagnosed by CT. I have it now for about 4 months. I want to let you know that I started yesterday to take Neurofencine (I spoke on the phone with the guys who discovered the effects and they sound serious scientists, and I got it online from their website). I am still in pain. Will keep you all posted...

Hello all,
I am taking Neurofencine for about 18 days now and it helps me. A couple of days after I started my leg pain subsided and it was such a relief. The terrible pain has gone. I will continue taking it for at least a month and hope the pain won't come back and will be over. Best health to all… Iris |

Hello again all,
I am taking Neurofencine for over a month now and was able to reduce my dosage and still am free of my nerve pain. By the way, I've checked those other suppliers of agmatine and they are all more expensive and what's more important for me, they are not very trustworthy... I swear by neurofencine now! Best health to you all… Iris |
Please Mrs. D.....

Dear Mrs. D, I am really interested to know what your thoughts are about "Neurofencine". I suffer with the nerve pain of neuropathy, and my hubby suffers with sciatic pain. I would greatly appreciate your input as to whether you think it's safe or not....Thanks so much:hug: |
I responded earlier in this thread.
It is probably safe. I would think however, that claims being made here sound extreme and a very fast response, which is not typical with chronic problems. It is your decision after all. Based on the wording of the original poster's post and the subsequent ones, using the name of the product prominently in the first few words, and the repetition without personal detail in the content, it sounds like a sales pitch to me. We get many of these on the PN board. This product has not been studied in PNers at all. (one study on spinal pain patients only). |
If you Google Neurofencine you'll find links to posts on other boards by someone with a different name but similar story. A cousin tried it and got good results so this person is trying it and getting phenomenal results.
As Mrs. D suggested, the poster is a sales person trying to get us to buy the product. Not very nice, "Iris." |
