Open Mouth.....Insert Foot!
 

Well, that was embarrassing! :o The UPS man made a delivery to my house today. Nothing unusual......he generally makes a couple of deliveries a week to me. And it's usually the same guy. Really nice man who'll stop and talk a minute if I happen to get the door when he's leaving packages on the porch.

Anyway.......the cats heard the truck and went hightailing it back to hide. I knew I would be getting a couple of packages today so I unlocked the storm door and met him when he walked up to the door.

It's very warm here today and, being on the second half of his day's deliveries he was pretty hot and sweaty. As soon as I opened the door I said "Wow, you look hot!" and without missing a beat he smiled and said "well, you're not lookin' too bad yourself"! :D :o :D

He knew what I meant and I knew he was kidding and we both got a pretty good laugh from it....but I'm sure my face turned ten shades of red!

I offered him a cold bottle of water and he gratefully accepted it. :cool:

P.S. I'm sure I'm old enough to be his mother!

No, no, no. I'm no Mrs. Robinson! He immediately knew that wasn't what I meant by my comment. He was just quick to respond and it was pretty funny.

My UPS guy just drops and runs. What's your secret Kitty? My mail guy likes my dog, I never see him. My lawn guy's Dad lingered, but I could walk then. My tractor mower repair guy moved to California. I think I'm getting a complex.

Yes, now that it's summer (and hot!:D) they do. They need a fashion director, though. Brown shirt and brown shorts is too much brown.

Well, I was at the door when he walked up. Otherwise, I'm sure he would have "dropped and run". ;) I open my front door but leave the glass storm door closed (and locked). The cats love to sit and watch the birds and any other activity out in the front yard. They always alert me that the truck is nearby because they hear it and run to the back of the house. The garbage and recycling truck doesn't scare them.....just the UPS truck. Maybe it's the awful brown outfit that scares them! :p :cool:

MY UPS guy is kind of cute too and really nice. If I answer the door and it is something heavy, he always wants to carry it inside for me.

I love the UPS guy. he is funny and sweet and always brings packages, but never bills like the mail man. The mail man could be brining good news or bad, but the UPS guy always brings treats!

Yes, the UPS guy is always friendly.

Barb, my packages are usually small and light. But, the cat food I ordered online came in three pretty heavy boxes and he did put it inside in the foyer for me.

I always think of that show "King of Queens" whenever I see the UPS truck coming down the street. :D

My UPS "guy" is actually a girl. So there will be not hot jokes, or me telling you how cute my UPS guy is and things like that. LOL She is really friendly though. UPS obviously does a good job on customer service training.

Reminds me of that email vid going around some time back where the weather man had said the are would get up to 8 inches of new snow and the female newscaster (the next night after no snow) looked at him and said, "so Bob, when do I get that 8 inches you promised me?" So, you see, you did not get your foot stuck nearly as badly as that poor woman ;)

Well, luckily my UPS man has a sense of humor. And he calls me ma'am, too! He knows I'm harmless.
