What's on your plate...
Just replanted some annuals that died for lack of watering...:o
Also took a good look at my tomatoe plants....two very small tomatoes on six plants!! Mr.Alffe says my soil needs sand. Meeting Barbo for lunch and wondering if I should admit to FreeKittens that I ride the mower, not walk. We have a date for the walk..http://www.stayinafloat.com/ What's on your plate? |
What's on my plate.... welllllllllllll.... a few days ago I walked 8 kilometers! (always sounds like more than miles!:D) and I made it... one of my feet got very sore about one block from home... but I made it!!! (I wear orthodics for planter faciitis) ... spelling?!! arrgh!
And I have suffered since... lol... today was the next walking day but I don't think I can do it... darn! I did too much too fast! darn darn darn! And the weather is so crappy its too cold to swim... what to do, what to do?!! Oh... I have lots to do... Enjoy your lunch sisters! You're probably eating at the same time I'm still drinking my morning coffee  |

Meeting Barbo for lunch and wondering if I should admit to FreeKittens that I ride the mower, not walk. LOL! Sheesh I didn't even consider a riding mower. well rats! Hope lunch went well? Agrand Day to All Free Kittens |
Yesterday I was able to walk the 30 mins on the treadmill (*whisper...the trick is to walk in your underwear...you're cooler...I was home alone...well, not exactly alone..the dog was very curious...:D)
Lunch was wonderful...Barbo suggested beef sliders w/french onion soup and I found a new love... Expecting a phone call from daughter G. this morning...she is going to NY with us next month and is so excited!!! We love, love, love NYC! Have tickets to see both Billie Elliot and Book of Mormon. Mr.Alffe is taking me to the movie this afternoon and popcorn is on the menu. Addy, Mr Alffe had that planter fac. thingy and dr. gave him stretching exercises that helped tremendously...raising up on your toes while holding on to a chair...etc. What is on your plate??? |
Howdy Folks
Today I have to come up with and implement a seriously structured activities for Beanz (my 5y/o girl) Beanz was stolen by her biological father and abused by him and his mother. She has lots of problems, no doubt. I haven't the time today to tell the whole story, gotta get that structure in place. OK so I need help coming up with activities with no car and no money! I have to help her until school starts Ideas? Free Kittens |
Addy
Yup I have had the fasciitis, no fun. I stopped wearing the orthotics as it caused really bad cramps in my legs. I just stretch now. Wishing you a Grand Day Free Kittens |
Yes, I must do those exercises! Thanks for reminding me Alffe and Kittens! :) My legs and heal still ache - but getting better!
I love living vicariously through you Alffe - those sound like wonderful shows to see when you're again in NYC! I'm looking out at sunshine - I hope to have a swim after my job ... in the early afternoon. I'm trying to arrange friends getting together this weekend, too... is a long weekend here in Canada. Kittens - ah, sorry to hear about your little one's past... but knowing that she's in your good hands will certainly make her life what it should be. I have a great suggestion if its a sunny day - give her a little bucket of water with food colour and a paint brush... and let her paint the fence! or her swing set.... lol... used to keep my kids busy! I'm sure there are tons of fab ideas on the internet... I save the styro containers from the grocery store - I thread a large needle with yarn and then I show Grand-Addy (she's almost 3) how to sew!! I also save big pieces of cardboard (sometimes you can find huge boxes by your recycle place) - and let her decorate it with crayon, glue fabric on pretend windows... make a tent... whatever she can come up with... have fun being a kid again! |
Addy
THANK YOU!!! I love love love the fence painting and we have a fence to paint. Free Kittens |
I use to finger paint with pudding. that way if they eat it, it wont hurt them LOLOL
|
getting hungry for pudding now. :D
Went to see Friends with Benefits yesterday which really surprised my daughter gretchen... We loved that it was filmed in NY city. Had a storm last night and the wind knocked over my new cherry tomato plant (it's in a pot by itself) and when Mr.Alffe righted it he said there are 5 or 6 little tomatos on it...Thank goodness no tree limbs came down this time. Hope they got some rain downstate....awfully dry there. :grouphug: Has anyone else tried those little Off machines for the mosquitoes?? They really work...! Have yet to be bitten and we sit out a lot in the evening. |
I don't think we've gotten more than a few little sprinkles of rain in the past few days....
I'm sitting here wondering what I should eat for dinner or if I will eat at all... I'm on so much medicine that my stomach feels so weird can't tell if it's hunger or ache. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!! :) Abbie |
Howdy
Beanz and I did the bead shop and a picnic at the park. She is MUCH better today. Tomorrow is painting the fence. If it rains, I got pudding! Thank You Ladies Wishing a Grand Day to all Free Kittens |
rai & salivary glands
wednesday's dose of rai went to all the usual places. the experts still have to look but i think i am cancer free. i am in quite a bit of pain though. the rai concentrates in the salivary glands, which are now swollen and painful. the right one was swollen before this too, and it appears it may have rai damage from january. i have been self diagnosing again on the internet and got info from this article. seems like doctors and dentists don't look on the internet so i am forced to. they tend to look at me like a hypochondriac, but left to their own devices they just tend to be apathetic. oops, off my soapbox now.
http://jada.ada.org/content/138/12/1582.full |
Good for you for checking the net tied, some drs. act insulted when we bring in information about our "conditions"...I move on to different drs. when that happens. Pray that you are right about being cancer free...and I'm sorry for the damage...hope it improves.
I look forward to your "soapbox". :D |
Tied
You have lots of great news these days, way cool. I do hope that you are cancer free. A Grand Day to you Free Kittens |
Howdy all
Well Beanz relapsed and is so so so trying. It is so hard to find that space where I am appropriately addressing inappropriate behavior and being compassionate regarding what she has been through. It looks as if we are dealing with multiple personality disorder. I know this issue is far beyond the perview of this forum but it helps me to just type about it. And the guilt that I feel about my suicide attempt being a , reason? Precursor? I don't know but I feel partially responsible. I know in my head that sounds rediculous but my gut feels like I failed her. Wishing a Grand Day for All Free Kittens |
MPD is tough..... i have some good friends that have that. It is a very advanced survival technique. esp common with those who have been sexually abused. but you already know that..... You have not failed her.... YOU are a very bright spot in her little life right now . {{{HUGS}}}}}

Thanks Goofy
Hubby stayed home from work today to help me with beanz. He is such a good Dad. Hope all is well today? Wishing a Grand Day to all Free Kittens |
Complications Salivary Glands
ENT says if the antibiotics work I should turn the corner tomorrow. Only tonight I can't sleep from the pain and feel like I might throw up. Guess tomorrow will be a sick day.
|
Hope the antib. work tied. Meds can be such necessary evils. Still losing weight here along with appitite...
Looking forward to lunch with Barbo and getting more Charlies corn and tomatoes...can't get a lot though, leaving for NY and need to eat up food in the fridge. Made a huge batch of sour dough bread yesterday, Mr.Alffe's favorite (thank you moi) and froze it. Also made and froze a sour cream coffee cake for sil's visit. FreeKittens, so glad you have help from the good daddy. :grouphug: |
lol lol --- what's on my plate? A bowlful of watermelon and Peaches is gobbling it. She just found something she likes more than black olives.
What a cat! |
Wren
Go Peaches!
|
rofl...Cassie loves watermelon but it "talks back". :o
|
Getting ready to go to "mom's" house, now Scott's house :). AND clean out the hall closet where she kept all her canned goods.... anybody know for sure how long home canned stuff stays good... I bet there is stuff in there that is 20 years old.... LOLOLOL.
|
Goofy
Why not google the question about how long canned goods keep. My sister encouraged me to google about some health concerns - now I'm a google nut - use it relentlessly!
|
LOL i did just that Barbo..... i got answers from 1 year to 10 years LOLOLOL..... I decided anything over 3 or 4 years should go and some of it was canned in 1987  VERY gross. Poor Scott got sick and lost his cookies at one point. LOL That was when i decided to bring the stuff home an dump it down my garbage disposal.
|
Cleaned out the fridge and threw out some food...after reading about Goofy...:D Also listened to the radio, Diane Reim (sp?) interviewing Alice Laplant about her new book Turn of Mind. http://petronatwo.wordpress.com/2011...lice-laplante/
My stack of "to reads" continues to grow...still loving Waltzing Australia... Had a nice phone call from Bizi and started to pack for ny. Cassie is having a hissie fit over the wild turkeys across the street....I don't blame her. :D I'm hoping the sun comes out and dries it off enough to cut the grass this afternoon. |
I'm getting super excited for my camping trip that starts this Saturday- going to the Kootenays with my Grand-Addy and her Mommy - have rented a cabin on a lake... sigh... I am so blessed!!!
And I'm a step ahead of you guys.... cleaned out my fridge cuz someone is staying here with my cats while I'm gone! :) :o :grouphug: |
Hi Goofy
It there is any 'give' when you ppress on the lid it definately is for the garbage disposal. Free Kittens |
LOL trust me there was more than a little "give" on most of what i got rid of..... made me so sad..... REALLY made me miss my mom..... BUT what else was i to do with that stuff??? LOL I'm not exaggerating...... there were gooseberries that were canned when i was a little girl..... i almost kept that one. :) it had that old rubber seal with the little handle thingy on it.... LOL... anyway i still have more to get rid of.... i think the only thing that is still good are last years tomatoes.... :o
|
Goofy
I am sorry about your mom. Can you fill that cool gooseberry one with potpouri or something and keep it? Free Kittens |
Tied?
How are you feeling today? Did the antibiotic help? Hope your tummy settled Free Kittens |
Addy and Alffe,
Enjoy your vacations! Bring back pics and fresh air? Free Kittens |
feeling better
free kittens - the full body scan came back normal. The salivary glands are still painful but by sucking on lemons i got some saliva to come out. It still hurts when I try to massage it and I am not sure how hard to push. i am still struggling with nausea, but given the 1/2 life of RAI it's probably from that. I wear a patch for it.
goofy - i had a horse named that once. i hope going through your mom's stuff brings up good memories. |
Taking Barbo to catch the train this morning..she's off to play with sister Pam. :D
Thank you tied for being your brave self and for sharing with us. Hope you are soon pain free and making wedding plans. Free Kittens, how is your little girl doing...any progress?:hug: Prayer for some upward progress. And Goofy..all that bad food! Great idea to keep the jar with new memories in it. I'm packed! Prematurely .....can't wait to wear some wrinkled clothes in the big apple...;) Addy, we are leaving the same day...have a wonderful time with your family and take lots of pictures!! |
Excellent Idea Free Kittens :) I'm waiting for my brother to get here.... we FINALLY got my moms tax stuff back. :thud: I'll just say its a good thing i still haven't closed out her account at her bank yet...... She is getting a refund from federal which has to be automatically deposited into an account with her name on it, but is paying the state more than twice what she is getting back from the fed..... ANYWAY
Praying for rain and some relief from this insane heat we have been having... this has been a most unusual summer. |
