Photos from our dive trip

I added a new album with photos from our recent dive trip to the Caymans. We have dozens more, but these were just a few cool ones we went through and processed last night. I am pasting the photos into the post, but the explanation of what each one is can be found in the album. My neck hurts too much to type it all in again. Sorry... Enjoy!

If you are pointing at that shark, how come you're not in the picture? LOL:eek:

What is that beautiful tourquois fauna? Is that a fish?

Thank you, I am sooooooo jealous!!!:)

The turquoise fauna is actually a "purple anemone". The blue color of the photo is what it looks like at depth due to the physics of light refraction by water. As you go down, you gradually lose the colors of the spectrum, and red, orange, and yellow are the first to go. When we took a picture using the underwater strobe of that same anemone, it was a brilliant purple color. I like the blue color of the naturally lit version better.

I was about 3 feet to thr right of the photographer pointing out the bigger shark behind the closer one. We do have a picture of me on the other side of a large tagged turtle. I will see if I can get it posted tonight or tomorrow.

Great Pictures! I really like the Anemone. After a while a Shark is just a Shark.

TXBatman 09-30-2011 12:38 PM

Yeah, but seeing them up close used to be pretty rare in the Sister Islands before they started spearing the lionfish. Now, even if you aren't spearing, they will wander over to look around and aren't in a hurry to run away. I wish I had a picture to show what that anemone looked like from a distance. We had fairly bright sunshine coming in at about 35-40' down and that thing was lit up like a big blue beacon among the coral.

I was going to post a few pictures from Florida and Fiji, but I can't figure out how. So, no pictures.

Go to your profile and create an album. Upload the pictures to the album. Once you have them uploaded, go to your album and click on the picture, then copy the image link (BBcode) from below the picture and paste it in your message posting, and the picture will show in the message.

I think I would like to be above the 40 foot water level, and in a big boat looking down on those beautiful sea creatures. ;)
Thanks for sharing TXBatman, great pics.
