Vitamin D-3

 A few days, ago, they put on D-3! I've been falling, while, trying
to get into my chair, I've been forgetting what day is, and, I've been
having trouble with my spelling!! These things have *never* happened
to me, before!!:mad: Has anyone experienced this, while, on vitamin D-3:eek::confused::mad:

Hi Phyllis,

How much D3 did "they" put you on? I found (only) one site that mentions anything remotely close to what you describe:
Quote:

Dizziness
It accompanies confusion, change in behavior, headache or unsteadiness.
http://www.vitamindsideeffects.org/v...e-effects.html
I do find sites that list various medications that can interact with D3, which seems a more likely possibility:
http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/vitamin-d-000340.htm
(scroll down to Possible Interactions:)

These sites are just examples, and neither may be comprehensive - don't know.

It's also possible that these symptoms are totally unrelated and only coincidental.

I would like to know who is making that website:

vitamindsideeffects.org?

I cannot find ANY link on that site to who is providing it.

Whois.... shows it is a totally anon owner!
http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi...ideeffects.org

Until I know WHO is behind it, I cannot recommend it.

The quote wasn't intended as any kind of endorsement. I was curious if Phyllis' S/E were known, so I briefly perused some sites, and like I said, that was the only site I saw that listed anything remotely similar. In fact, until your comment, I missed that D was part of the URL (thought it was about all vitamins in general). It does seem odd that someone would have a bug about that particular vitamin so big they'd register a dot org about its S/E. I can only speculate.

Personally, I'm skeptable that D3 is responsible (especially at the 1000 IU dose she's taking) for Phyllis' S/E, but as most sites disclaim comprehensiveness, I don't know enough about it to rule it out.

I was just wondering about that site, because of the wording on some of the pages.

I prefer the sites with medical consultants.

I noticed most of the wording on the "side effects" page were for
"overdosing".

It is very unlikely to have "side effects" from Vit D supplementation.

And the D given by doctors, the D2, is not useful for much either.

Her 1,000 IU is very conservative. I take 10 times that dose during the winter, daily.

Dr. Smith,

Are you asking, whether, this is my thread? If so, yes, it is

Where can I get D3 that ISNT made from any sort of lanolin or wool derivative? I am allergic to wool but NEED D3....any suggestions???

Hi: I'm a pharmacist and I've never found anywhere reputable that says that D3 causes symptoms you describe, especially not at just 1000 Units/day. That's really low. Even the new guidelines call for 2000 u/day, although I take 8000 u/day. Many of us were shocked at how low the new guidelines were, considering the wealth of data that supports 5000 u/day or more.

I think as Doc suggested that it's coincidental.

Just to let everyone know, it *was*, the Med.!! I called my Dr., told her

The symptoms *stopped*!!! :eek::D
