This my latest painting in acrylics, of Zoe, my previous dog, who died in early '09.
Signed it in my maiden name, as I thought it was time, as I've been divorced long enough! :o lol

;)Thank you for giving us an opportunity to see your paintings. You are quite talented. I have used oil and have not tried acrylics. It has been almost 11 years since I have picked up a brush.

My eldest grandson, at Christmas, gave me a gift which included a book "Pastels" (History of pastel Painting), a box of Artist's Loft Soft Pastels Gray Tones and Artist's Loft fundamentals with 48 Oil Pastels for drawing, illustraion and coloring. He is trying his best to give me the encouragement needed to try something a little different. The arthritis developed in my wrists from doing very detailed oil paintings caused me to set everything aside. My grandson thought these might help a little more to develop an impressionist style. Have not as of yet, until I saw your post this evening, taken these items out to look over.

Thank you once again - you may have given me the extra incentive needed.

The Australian King Parrot is such a majestic bird and you've captured it very nicely. We had a pair that visited regularly when we lived in a warmer climate but it's too cold for them here. We get a whole different variety of other very pretty birds in our feeders now, including Rainbow Lorakeets and some beautiful Eastern Rosellas, but I sure do miss the AKP.

Indeed. We have King Parrots here on the sunny coast. Not in the backyard of course, but there are nature reserves around the coastline here where they seem to hang around and breed in treetrunks or whatever. I love living here for that reason. Lots of environmentally friendly areas mixed in with suburbia in my area. Lots of Cockatoo too! screeeeeech.
