Sending a text to the wrong person and wrong words.

This is something new to me. I've been sending text messages to the wrong people (so embarrassing) and I'm also writing the wrong words when I text and reply to or create threads. For instance, I was trying to tell my ex-fiance about something weird that happened to me last night and I ended up sending it to my mom. I'm usually careful about things like that lol. Also I will write stuff on here and when I proof-read i'll find that I've completely swapped out words that don't even fit...like "So I went to the tonight last night" or something like that. I usually catch it in the act, not when I read over it before sending/posting.

Frustrating. I've always prided myself on good spelling and writing skills.

Oh well!!! :)

I hope one day I don't send a "Brett Favre" to the wrong person, hahaha.

Eowyn 02-19-2012 06:09 PM

Um, I can think of an EASY way to prevent that from happening: don't take pics like that??

:) :) :)

Thank you for the kind advice.

Haha, maybe. I just hope he doesn't accidentally send one to me.

I'll have to refer him to a neurologist for an evaluation!!!

Seriously, I have noticed too that I make a lot more typos, misspeak more when talking, and just have trouble finding the words I want. I'm an English teacher, and this is NOT an area I'm used to struggling with.

You should see some of my emails. Even I didn't know I knew words like that.

I have the same issues. Its frustrating. I started words with friends and that is helping my spelling. English and reading was my strongpoint...now not so much.

Yup it sure is frustrating not having words at your fingertips like you are used to. I play in a band and the other day heard myself singing 'how could luch a sovely girl give me love?'.......(supposed to be 'how could such a lovely girl give me love?') It is frustrating but you do get some funny moments - and laughter is golden with PCS isn't it!!

The solution is simple. It is called proof reading before you hit send. At least on NT, we can edit as soon as we see the errors.

Turn on spell check, too. It helps give you a better reason to proof read.

I bet Brett Favre has Post Multiple Sub-concussive Impacts Syndrome (PMSIS). By the time he is 50 he will be a space cadet.

And, don't let your butt dial your texts to the wrong party. LOL

I'm still pretty good at writing and spelling. English and reading has always been my strong point...I'm just so used to writing so fast that my brain can't keep up so it writes the wrong words. I find myself at times looking at a word and thinking that it looks weird spelled that way...even though its correct.

I tried Words With Friends, my brain couldn't handle it.

I was in space after one game.

My typing is getting worse and I have to retype several times. Definitely a disconnect between my fingers and thoughts.

I'm typing longer emails even though I try not to. My OCD comes out a lot to get the message clear and concise. Just hoping people don't hate me for it. :D

I feel your pain, have been noticing this in myself especially lately :) bh-pcs, I can so related, probably the only reason this reply is so short is because I'm doing it from my phone

I browse from my phone too. I've got a HTC Inspire...its hard to type with the touch screen keyboard sometimes. I screw up way more on my phone than i do on a regular keyboard.

I'm writing this from my phone now lol.

If I'm ever having a bad day I just read some of those.

ditto....Met the sweetest girl a couple of months ago, sent her an email
and called her an idiot.

On the plus side, she was extremely gracious when I explained the trouble
I was having, but I was MORTIFIED.

Even today, seven months after the accident, I couldn't find the word translate. I tried transform, trans...asked the husband NOT to tell me-give me time to find it. I did. Yea me.:D

I do that too...tell the person I'm talking to not to tell me what the word is that I'm trying to find. I get excited when I finally figure it out lol.
