Your old posts at hasty pastry

thelma site:hastypastry.net

I went to this site that someone put up in another forum and there is a ton of posts there from me.

You can find yours as well by just putting your name where mine is and hitting.

the name you post with.

eg tortoise site hasty pastry .net

when the page comes up under each posting is the word cache hit it and lo and behold we have once more come to life.

LizaJane 09-26-2006 11:04 AM

what do you type after www. to get to the site. Can you walk us through it?

LizaJane

Hi Thelma...

are you talking about Google searches?

Or WebArchive?

I too, do not completely understand "where" you searched.

Help, please!:o

Thelma 09-26-2006 11:11 AM

Stupid is the name and stupid is my game lol

Google

doydie 09-26-2006 11:22 AM

Yes I get some of my posts when I do that, but when I click on a post to read it. I get that notice now on the old Braintalk1 about the mac server not found

Chemar 09-26-2006 11:28 AM

hi
if you just click the link you will likely get the error notice, but if you click cached then it should bring up the pages that have been "stored" on Google, like Thelma mentioned

also, no need for any www you just enter it exactly as Thelma posted but substitute your, or any other OBT username in place of hers

The above is what the google search results look like...

See at the bottom the blue thing that says "cached" - clicking on that link will bring you to the google cache of the page so you can see your old posts. If you click on the main link (in this case where it says "common abbreviations") that will bring you to the BT error message.

This is what the cached page of my "common abbreviations" post looks like-
http://216.239.51.104/search?q=cache...&ct=clnk&cd=18

for the google search of your posts, type the following
wittesea site:hastypastry.net
but replace the name "wittesea" with whatever your username at braintalk was.

If you are looking for a specific post of yours, you can refine the search by doing the following
wittesea "pain" site:hastypastry.net
This bring up a google search of my posts with the word "pain" in them. So replace my name with yours, and replace the word "pain" with whatever you are looking for.

But the main thing to remember is to click on the thing that says "cached" once you have your search results.

Hope that helps, but if you have any other questions or if you would like some assistance in finding your old posts, just let me know :)

Liz

I am only able to get to the first pages of the threads with the cached version.
This is how i got to it.

from another post about it -
**************************************
[finding {cached} old info from BT1
type this into a search engine {google , ect}
site:brain.hastypastry.net

behind .net - add your user name or any topic you want to search the old BT for-- click on the cached page link and you can find some of the old info

so some of it is still out there -
thanks to wittesea for posting that link and info in another thread.]

Thanks Wittsea

For the life of me I couldn't find where I had seen your posting nor remember your name.

Thanks again

Wittesea 09-26-2006 01:56 PM

Your welcome Thelma. I'm glad I was able to help :)

Doody 09-26-2006 02:08 PM

It sure doesn't work for me!!!

Jane 09-26-2006 04:26 PM

Me either and I followed the instructions to the letter. Sigh.

Thanks for pointing this out Thelma. It's a great way to recover some old helpful information. I keep trying to make mine work but it's not working with me. It gives me an error message when I click the cached thing. :(

Then again, I was more of a question asker back then, so I won't recover much!

Doody 09-26-2006 05:18 PM

Thanks Thelma! But I wasn't Doody at OBT. I'll just keep trying. It obviously works because many are finding them! So I'll just try again.

Jomar 09-26-2006 05:28 PM

Doody I put this in to the google search
site:brain.hastypastry.net doody

and this list came up
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...dy&btnG=Search

only 9 results came up
were you on OBT for a long time ? same name?

Jane- if you used your same name there this came up-
site:brain.hastypastry.net jane

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...ne&btnG=Search

I'm curious to know if these links work for any of you or not -

the results looks like this on my browser page-

Does anyone have comparative analysis for the new ana tests vs the old? Lupus.

after I posted this I saw you used a different name there.
does the link take you to any results {even if the wrong name?}

debtoo 09-26-2006 06:43 PM

tried it/it worked/never thought I would see these old posts anytime soon.
It is good to know that all the valuable information on OBT1 has not necessary been lost.

ella138 09-26-2006 07:05 PM

Thanks, it worked for me too. I was able to retreive many of the important posts that were full of great information. I copied and pasted them into my word processing program and saved a copy on my computer. That was a great help.

JoJo6 09-28-2006 03:18 PM

well have mercy, bet you don't know me either, thelma, but I remember you from a long long time ago. How could anybody forget you?:p

I went poking about this morning, didn't find anything of mine, I was mighty glad I didn't. :D

Now, I saw a whole bunch of other stuff that I didn't understand where it was coming from.

Something called "CareCure"? Something like that. Does anybody know where that came from? dang, I gotta get out and mingle a bit more.

BooHoo, I didn't get an invite either, so don't feel bad Liz. Sometimes we are just needed elsewhere, ya know? Especially you, Liz!! You are doing a good job, maybe you ought to stick around and do what you're doing? Yeah, I think you do.;)

I love all you fine folk and I have enjoyed seeing many I haven't seen in a long time. I hope y'all stick around, this is where I will be. I haven't felt good about things in a very long time. DocJohn has a way of making one feel at home:cool:

I wanted to thank all that posted in Alzheimer's & Dementia last night. Got some good info:) take care all, Jo

did want to say hi to my old friend, the dancing frog:p I love you too, Alffie. You have a good heart!;)

Kamie 09-28-2006 03:39 PM

Can you guys please look up the posts from Scientist Bill for me? I think they would be a great assett to have on the Child Neurology forum. I need to get a hold of him before posting them first due to copywrite and all. But I want to get them saved before they disapear.

Thelma 09-28-2006 04:42 PM

Halfway down the page are his tutorials
