New Chapter starts today
 

Derrick's Service Waiver Case Manager comes today.

We will set some goals, and write some things to accomplish.

Choose, the provider. Well she will learn the provider, heehee.

I'm not changing a working thing.

Derrick has already chosen.

And Derrick volunteering for two days, and then participating for the third

The provider has emailed too.

And I've sent his seizure types and things.

We are booking along.

His application for VR has been submitted. This is something I didnt'
want to start myself. So the case manager we started with doing this
was very helpful for me.

Next Will and Derrick went to Camp Wack today. Will only did the skiing
once. But I think he had a great time. I could't get him back on the
ski's. He went on a really long ride. I hope he had as much a fun time
as it looked.

He loved the games, and the water games, and the sand. So it was a hit.

Derrick got hurt but is okay. Just cut his leg.

Derrick's day of camp was great. He had lots of fun.

Even skiied without the training wheels as they call them.

He fell in the second time. But he really enjoyed it the first time.

One of the parents again, brought two guys without planning to
stay. And was going to have to take them with her.

She had something she had to do, and would have come back.

So I said, I'd watch them till she came back. There wasn't a big
deal. Because they weren't a big job.

And she really appreciated it.

I'm taking a quiet relaxing day today.

Then tomorrow he is volunteering at the riverfest for the humane shelter
he works at.

THey aren't bringing animals, just arts and crafts. And passing out
brochures.

Omg, My husband finally found me a PT cruiser, its my favorite wanted
car.

Ive been wanting one for a while now. I can't tell you how many years
I've been wanting one.

Its red, its a limited edition.

Its a 2001, and its got a sun roof.

It wasn't a surprise, I knew he has been looking for one. He knew I have wanted one for many years.

He told me the other day he had one he was going to try to get. If it was
still there. But not to get my hopes up. Because they don't stay on
lots long.

But it was still there.

Thanks, I've been to Kokomo.

My mother is having problems with her knee area. So She isn't driving
right now. So someone is driving her car usually. But she found getting
in and out of my car was easier.

So I did the driving.

So today I took Derrick back to work for the second day this week.

I went in to see the kitties.

And got told how he was missed.

Friends 16 year old nephew Died in car accident
 

I have a friend who's nephew died in a car accident. Or I should say is
brain dead. He is being kept alive to harvest the organs. She is torn
because the parents are divorced, and neither stayed with him last
night. And she feels someone should be there to hold his hand.

She has very little money, and feels she should go back.
She doesn't like borrowing money. And it technically would not be
a loan. Because I wouldn't expect it back. I told her I'd help her figure
out a way if she wants to return today, or when ever.

I would be the same way. I can understand how she feels.

We all know the beautiful soul you are Donna.

So sorry to hear about this accident.... But I know he is going to be in a better place, in peace...

Thanks for all the thoughts everyone.

Her families funeral was yesterday, and they had a memorial today.
That is how much they can't get along.

But that is good, because both parents got to remember their son.

On another note. My husband, Dale, Took Derrick to work this morning.
He said, if I was that tired I could stay home. I was supposed to
be showing him were to pick him up at. But he took him, and then
was running errands.

They are going to the new batman movie, I'm not into that stuff.

So heehee, why waste the money for me. I wasn't interested.

I slept all morning. Then I was so exhausted I napped this afternoon.

Dear Donna,

I'm really sorry to hear about the tragic death of your friend's 16 year old nephew. I can't begin to imagine how hard it is for all involved. You are a wonderful friend to offer the help that you did.

Glad you got to see Derrick back to work and hear how he was missed. I am sure that was heartwarming.

Also glad to hear you got a day off to sleep late, and nap in the afternoon. As bizi says, "naps are good." :)

Yes naps are very good. I was on the run most of the week.

I was very tired. And had a very rough needed massage on Friday.

So I have a busy week this next week. And I hope I have not
tried to do more than I should.

Anyway, They saw the new Batman Movie. I'm really glad they
didn't even try to take Will to the movie. Everyone has been saying
its not for littler kids, after they said, Batman died, its sure not.

Especially for my Will. He would have not been happy. I'm not sure
what really is going on, but that isn't what he would have wanted.

I personally think they are wanting to recreate batman.

Ugh, I knew this one parent was going to be a hard one.

She got all confused and called the coordinator.

Well at least she got some information she needed.
But she got me supposedly in trouble. Heehee

But she got it confused. Oh well, at least things
sound fixed for school.

I just sent the coordinator a email, hopefully she can
help straighten out the credits problem.

I never told you I don't think that a week ago. I almost
burned my house down. My dryer acted up. Luckily my husband
came home just at the right time. He got the thing turned
off and everything that needed disconnected, till we figured out
if the house was okay taken care of.

We had to turn the A/C off for the night, but luckily it was a nice
night. I had my grandson Will and was worried because it
was affecting me. But he was already asleep, and so since
after a while I was okay, I knew he was.

But it sure showed, anything can happen.

Tonight, he put a dryer in that was in one of the rentals.

Hoping it works good for a while, we wont be leaving it running.
And I bet we keep a close eye on it.

Okay I have been working to schedule a workshop for both:

English and then one Spanish Speaking at the same time in
two different rooms of course. In a elementary room in the
month of October.

Well I have everyone on board that I needed to at the elementary
from having done the registration. I then went to ask my co-worker
that is our Bi-lingual Regional Program Specialist and she was available.
But the Co-worker that usually helps me. ISn't available the week
that was picked. So we chose to just have me and the Bi-lingual go
ahead and do it ourselves.

I'm finally comfortable enough to give it a try. Even though I know
my own supervisor, isn't comfortable with letting me do this yet. I went
ahead and worked to schedule it. But then found out the principal and
I were not talking about the date I thought we were. Heehee, and I'm
working to see if its going to work or if we need to change.

Oh well but the frustrating part for me, is to get my supervisor on board.
I need to get past her needing to think I'm not ready.

I'm not ever going to feel comfortable if she can't feel I'm ready too.
So I'm going to feel very uncomfortable waiting on our skype call on
TUesday. She says we will talk about it then, and how I can be ready.

Hmmm, and on top of it. My co-worker that usually does this with me.
Sent a email to her supervisor and the bi-lingual that are already on
board to agree for me to do it. That I want to do this myself, so she
is out of the picture. Not realizing that my supervisor is the one she
should have included.

Derrick and I are headed in a few minutes to see a Voc Reh counselor.

He is starting to get nervous because he has no clue what this really
means. Hmmmm, well he will be fine.


I also have to make him a dentist appt in this very busy week.

He starts school on Wednesday. And wouldn't you know it I have
things scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday.

He is looking forward to going to open house tonight. So I hate
to schedule the appt tonight. THere late night. If they could
even get him in.

But we will see.

Ugh what a day. I will Cancel my tomorrow if they can do it then.
I'm pretty sure I know what is wrong.:grouphug::hug:

Yah, they got Derrick in tomorrow at 5:10pm.

So he wont have to miss work, unless he just doesn't feel well enough.

Now for the really good news.

We had a awesome meeting with Voc Reh. I think it would be considered
the best a student from our area has had.

She listened, then asked me if I was willing to take him to Indy
to do the Crossroad's Accessive Technology Testing. If I thought
there might be something that would help his job.

Will I have no idea if there is something that would help his job.
But I'm delighted to take him. And when she asked if we needed
help with money for gas or anything. No I don't, I will afford that
part period.


I have wanted to do this for a couple of years. Every since I've known
about it. I just couldn't afford to do it myself. He was struttering
because he was nervous, and having trouble with his speech. And
she said, she knows of a program to send him to after this, if its
necessary too. Wow.

So these things will get started, after all the paperwork is done.

So now I have one big other thing. I really need to change. I hate
to take the meds away from our local pharmacy. But I need to
find a way to have Derrick's meds put together and ready when they
are already here.:grouphug::hug:

This sounds exciting for you guys.

Need some idea's what could be going on.

I have had a eye problem since Saturday. I didn't have any eye drops to
use Saturday.

But starting Sunday, I had bought some and started using it. It started to
slowly or so I thought get better. But I also noticed that if I kept the
eye closed or slept the pain or whatever it really is. Because its more
just a irritation feeling than pain.

I can't explain it well.

I've tried to figure out if its red, but I can't tell. And it doesn't seem to
have anything in it. I don't have a sty as I have in the past.

It gets a little better everyday, but I don't know if there is something
else I can do for it.

On another note we celebrated my mom's 80th birthday on Saturday
a week early. We had a great time, just family and a couple of
her friends that are just like family.

My sister's made lasagna and macaroni and cheese. Salad, fruit and
other kind of trays. And we had cake.

I bought the cake because I knew I wouldn't be able to help much with
the preparing of the food.

But it was so nice to see the family.

We had it at the church's fellowship hall. We just don't have a house
that will exactly fit us all anymore.

It was so nice. Even though one of my son's and one of my nephew's
had to work.

look at the drug store for a gel that you can put in your eye at night. IT is over the counter and used for dry eyes. It is very soothing.

Thanks, I've got clear eyes. That I had bought before. I'm using it
right now today. It seems to be working better today.

SO hopefully I can go looking tomorrow for something else.

I have used dry eye stuff before. But never knew they made a gel.
