Zaps
I have had a zapathon from my stim. The stimulation being so strong I can't even walk. I finally turned it off due to my being terrified to push the button. Mainly cause I don't want to feel like I've been hanging on to an electric fence from the waist down. I'm meeting with the programmer tomorrow as this is apparently "normal" I haven't done any lifting bending or stretching so I don't see how it could be anything I've done. Anyway, healing seems to be going well. Slowly coming down on meds and walking/moving more. Anyway, post op appt and programming tomorrow so hopefully a little insight to why I'm getting zapped all the time. I didn't sign up for shock therapy lol?..or did I?

No, You Did Not
And any program tech worth their salt would allow you to manipulate the controls to tweak the program in to just what YOU need so you do not experience these bloody zapathons.
My two cents, yup, Mark56:grouphug: |

TK...
Hopefully tomorrow your re-programming session will prove to allieviate this horrid zapping. I'm sorry you are dealing with this.
Don't let the session end until you feel confident in how the programming went. They get paid well to sit there with you until it gets done right. Hope all goes well! Rae  |
Sorry, had to chuckle, but that's exactly what happened to me with my first leads. Turn it up enough to provide relief, and I walked like someone out of Michael Jackson's THRILLER video.
Might need to turn it down lower and just use for extra relief with pain killers ... I said, after having the paddle lead, thatits like someone massaging my temples when I have a horrendous headache ... Doesn't cure it, but it certainly feels good. |
Ouch!
Yikes, TK....that's gotta be very unnerving, getting zapped like that! Hopefully today things will go well with your post op visit and you can get reprogrammed so you'll just get pain relief with no "extras"! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Here's to no more zaps! :Good-Luck: Jan |
I'm interested to know what lead you have?
|
I feel much better after reprogramming. I am actually able to play with them. I have a paddle lead Saffy. Yes, mines up and I get twitches too lol. Anyway, we shall see if a good night's sleep is in my future.
Here's an issue I don't know if any of y'all experience it, but I live in a rural town 50 miles north of Dallas. So each dr. Appt and program appt is a 50 mile drive. Drives are excruciating right now, so the less, the better!! TK |
The long trip in to see all of your doctors is a real hassel. A 100 mile round trip doesn't sound like much to a healthy person but is troublesome if you are dealing with pain......even if someone drives you. That's why I moved into town, across from the our Regional Medical Center. Hopefully, once you get through the initial set up and the body settles down, you won't need to see the doctor much. Hang in there as it sounds like you are off to a good start. Best wishes.

Glad you got this straightened out, it's no fun to be zapped! I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. Luckily we found out when my rep pulled it up on the screen that a piece of scar tissue had broken loose and wedged in the space, causing the problems, which was easily to fix just by adjusting the programs to not include that spot on that lead. And I had mine put in in November with my leads moved in January, so I was bending! :p
I hear you on the long drive to the doctor's office too. Mine is about a 45 mile drive each way. Definitely not fun when you're sore from surgery! |
Sorry about those long drives
Pooh has long drives as well... all of the way from Nowhere to Somewhere, NE and it is not fun for her. I feel for you all with long drives to the doc or to the rep, may you ultimately be sufficiently tweaked that the drives are LESS part of your lives.
Yup, Mark56:grouphug: |
Need some tweaking on stim
I was a little perturbed with my rep. I called all day to try and get some tweaking to my programs. Well, i had to call the big boss before I got a call back and I was NOT happy! Anyway, it will be Wednesday before I can see her and I have my last two days of class this week. I made it through. I can scarcely believe it. In case y'all haven't noticed yet, I'm a tough little snot lol. Anyway, still icing and have back pain, but things are looking up. I got through a car ride without wailing and teeth gnashing. I am walking regularly. I'm still smiling. As I say whenever I can, rsd will never own me! Hope everyone isn't in too much pain. Thank everyone for your support!! I'm so glad I can talk to my new online friends!!
:grouphug:  |
Tuff indeed!
Yeah, sometimes ya gotta be that way to get results, TK. Good for you!
I'm glad you are doing so well and being so active. It's wonderful to watch someone's success story unfolding! Rae :grouphug: |
