How is your Weekend August 4, Saturday

Hi

Do you have plans this weekend?

My friend came over to clean with me today. We are doing some good organizing and tossing. Then we are going for a walk while the sun is still out.

Enjoy your weekend. :)

My weekend plans are to hold down the couch. And take naps.

Till this stupid weather lets up on the heat making plans just isn't
allowed. I just don't get to carry them out. It is effecting my head.

So I don't get to go very far.

I'd hoped to go get my shredder today.

I got up and dressed and had a delicious sandwich for lunch, a chris's special with ham and roast beef and swiss cheese with gravy drippings and mayo and lettuce or cabbage on a french bread. It is called a "po boy".
came home and worked in the yard some pulled ferns that had taken over a flower bed pulling up the ferns and some ivy and a vine of sorts I pulled so hard that it broke and I fell on to a small table, it did not break and I was fine, hate falling. Talked to jeff today he is coming home tomorrow. yeah@!The guy came and replaced his wind shield today. So that is done. took a shower after a nap. getting ready to go out to eat at the local pub, brewskis. chicken quesidillas sounds good. jeff has been gone 18 days. I miss him a lot.

weekend report / saturday + sunday plans

saturday i installed the printer. i had to do it slowly and carefully. it really was not hard. the instructions were just stuupid, and made me goofier than i already was.

the set up directions were awful. mom insisted i do the RTFM bit "we engineers" shy away from. well anyway.

it is unpacked and set up and i connected it and installed it to my laptop. then i tested some basic functionality. will do more tests when i connect it to my folks' PC but since that was in a corner it was more (physically) comfortable for me to install to mine first. both puters have to have the drivers on anyway to use the printer so don't matter the order.

it's a printer/copier/scanner. i did an enlarged color copy and it was beautiful! :) i also printed a doc i had waiting to go... came out good.

i stall haven't scanned. that's the sunday project, along with moving to it's more permanent position by my folks' computer and installing drivers to that. it's my old XP laptop so should be no hassle - this is an XP as well and gave me no trouble.

but the big part is done really. most of the unknowns have been debelled and i'm not looking at that STUPID "start here" sheet again. it made me LOOOPY!!!!!! (could well be instructions like that are the reason for the presence of the lettter F in that "RTFM" saying.)

ohhhh noooooo..... oh no here goes. oh gosh. going to bed now.

nite nite.

talk to you later and will try to catch up with more threads.

Just picked about 6 dozen tomato's, a dozen banana pepper's, and 1 cucumber from my parent's garden.

There is no way I am never going to be able to eat these... gave a bunch to my older sis, a few to a neighbor, just txt'd my little brother to come get some.

My mom is in the hospital & my dad spends his day with her so either I give them away or they will go bad.

Sigh....

We had our family reunion yesterday, weather was breezy, humid but temps about 88. Bitter sweet because my uncle passed away last week. He always had health problems from agent orange. The COPD over came In the end, not the lung cancer he fought.

Today I slept in and we had severe thunderstorms. Two fans at the Pocono race track were hit by lightening. I have not heard how they are doing, but looks like the race was stopped an ended fron the weather.

I did enjoy the warmer then usual weather here in the Pocono' s this summer. More then 18 days over 90 in my area. We may get. Only 2 or 3 days like that.

Hate to think the next week may not be much more then 80. The pool will come down soon. Our cruise is Sept 2-9' so hoping no tropical storms or hurricanes to ruin the trip.

Weekend almost over, they pass so quickly!

Abbie

Sorry to hear about your mom being in the hospital.

Glad your family could come get some of the garden veggies.

Mari 08-07-2012 07:14 AM

Hey, Abbie,

It is wonderful that you can pic veggies from the garden and give them away. I wish I felt close to the earth like that.

I hope that your mom gets better.
