Sept 4th, New Month
 

THings are good around my house.

I seem to have missed my massage for over a month. I got sick before my last one. Then I had a bad eye for almost a week, and then of course a couple of the weeks I just couldn't fit it in my week.

So today I finally got it in my week. My poor massage therapist. Had
to really work hard to help me. But its lots better tonight. I had one
whole really bad side. And then the other shoulder was bad too. And
I had no real idea. Since the other side was so bad, I couldn't feel it.

I have always known my headaches get worse when my neck and shoulder
are bad. But wow, not this bad.


I haven't been able to hardly do anything but my work. So its nice to be
back to somewhat normal. I have quite a few parents right now.
One that has moved in from Memphis that we are doing a move-in conference
next week.

And then I also have a Workshop next week.

Wow, I then have a break from Workshops, since one I was scheduling
hasn't had time to schedule.

Also one of my friends online. Who has a son who has uncontrolled
seizures who is Derrick's age. Who has a Seizure Alert Service Dog.
Needs prayers for his dog. Boomer Zoomer, he has been at the Vet
for the last couple of days. Because he has swalled something that
they are trying to get him to pass.

He is having test tonight. And then they will decide if surgery
is next or if they wait.

Please keep this special dog in your thoughts. He is needed by
this family. He is a beautiful brown Gloden Lab I believe.

How are things going?

My massage brought out really bad pain in my shoulder blades and
the neck is really bad too right now.

I have been using a heating pad on them. And a cool water bottle.

I'm just watching things. Because it seems to want to act up.

I have another massage next Monday. I'm hoping it will help relieve
the rest of the mess.

And last I read the dog Boomer is doing lots better. And was home.

Also thought I would post newest news on Hubby Dale.

He is working up North in Hammond area.
He moved from one BP shop to another.
And is doing okay I think with the jobs.
But I believe the drive is going to end up doing him in.

I really wish I could talk him into staying up there.
We could really afford for him to just find a place and stay.

He is working 10 hour days. And driving at least 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours
in the mornings. And at night 1 1/2 to 3 hours. According to how the
traffic is. And how he feels.

I'm worried. He doesn't have any down time at all at home.
He just needs to listen and get a place, or hotel room and spend some
time in a hotel and get some relief from the driving.

Ugh, he is of course a man.

Dear Donna,

I agree with you that he needs to get with the program and stop being weird. The right thing for him to do is exactly what you know is best for him.


How much longer is this going to go on?

He is probably happy to have work and will do anything that is necessary in his mind to keep it. I do think he should find a hotel or something else he can hang his hat for relief. he must be exhausted.

i hope he listens to reason and finds a motel at least a few days a week. he is living on the edge i am afraid. i hope you feel better with your next massage. again great about the doggie

I was up all night, couldn't sleep.

Oh well, not sure why, but think it was because I found out that
a icon in town died Wednesday at sometime.

Then last night about 9:30pm it became more real. When on
facebook. One of the members of the Lions club messaged me
asking if Derrick would be okay working the bingo area?

Because of course husband to the lady who has died wouldn't be
doing the bingo. And they were scrambling to fill this area.

Um, sure. But it hit me like a brick after talking to her for a while.
That she was gone. That the whole family was going to be missing
from Dan Patch this year.

Her husband is a even bigger ICON in our community. When his time
comes its going to hit even bigger for our kids. And those beyond.
He is big in our schools. Even though he is retired now. He does a lot
for the moral of the kids.

He is the coach that took Derrick under his wing. When he couldn't be
on the team in 5th and 6th grade because of hallucinations and seizures.
And baseball. As the team managers. And treated him as a member of
the team. He is also the one that Derrick either threw a shoe or kicked
a shoe at and hit in the face at practice. In 5th grade.

He is turning 81 soon, so that would have put him in his 70's I believe.

Wow never thought about it before.

Sorry I wrote a book.

But I am hopefully going to sleep better tonight. I did get about
4 hours of sleep after Derrick went to school. So I can make it through
the day.

Luckily I didn't have anything I needed to do for work today.

And I can just chill. I had taken yesterday as a sick day, thanks to
a sick headache.

Well the festivals for tonight pretty much got cancelled thanks to the bad weather going through here. So everyone is in the house.

So I think everyone is having a early night, heehee.

Please say some strong special prayers tonight and tomorrow.

Something very bad is going on. THis is the same BP, that caused
the oil spill, and just recently sold bad gas in Indiana. Well right
now they have a contractor that has decided a crew can walk
66 flights of stairs, instead of taking the elevator. That he can
call them all kinds of names, and a few other choice things that are
not only mean and unhuman. But against union rules.

Well my husband is trying to figure out how to handle the situation.
He is a odd guy at times. And he has talked about causing a accident
for himself and ending up on workers comp. I don't honestly think he
could end up doing that.

I'm hoping his choice is the other one, he told me he was going to do.
Its telling the people of BP, the higher ups what is going on.

So say some prayers that he does what I consider the best thing for
all the folks on this crew. And even if he decides to quit this job,
and come back to our area and work. Because there is a job for
him for at least a short time for sure. But no overtime, and the kind
of pay he was making.

So we will see.

So would you say some prayers that he can handle this the right way.

I can't seem to get through to him, to get a hotel period.

Now he has decided to borrow one of the handicapped things for the
car he is driving. Which will get him alot closer to the area he needs
to be.

He says it will cut down by about 1/2 hour his driving in the morning
for sure in the morning. And that he is staying Mon, Tues, and Wed.
For sure because he is waiting on the check.

Heheee, he is one that likes money. He is also waiting on a couple
extra checks. So he has lots of reasons to wait.

Yes, now to solve my newest problem.

I have to find a way to try and maybe be two places at once
on Wednesday. I have a parent that needs me at a conference.

And I might not be done with a mammogram. Ugh, its important
this is a situation the student might be getting bullied on the
bus. By of all people the driver.:hug:

My mammogram ultrasound was fine, and I got to the cc meeting.

We are doing some plans for the student. But not sure the parent
in the end will be happy. She wants the driver replaced for the whole
bus. But that isn't our job, as I'm trying to explain to her.

Oh well, if we can get her son back on the right track.

He had a much better week. He is taking this next week off to get some
things in place before winter for his mother. Which I am fine with.
It would be really hard to get them in place later. So I'm glad he is getting
them done now.

He is also getting some things done with his partners, that need done this
week. So this should be a long productive week.

Then I am still working on talking him into staying up there instead of driving
home. I think maybe I've accomplished it. There are some things he
could take that he can do there. When he wants to work at night, or if
he finds he can stay 7 days a week, and work Saturday or/and Sunday sometimes. He worked Saturday this week. I think he would have liked
having a place this weekend.

So its coming around. I was to go to a bridal shower this weekend/today.
But the bride s grandfather had died this week so its been posephoned.

So I will go later. And the wedding is October 6th. Wow, and its so neat
all three of my son's and my husband have RSVP'd to go.

Its been so long since we have all been somewhere like this together.

But I have someone in my family that can also take a good picture.

My week has been much better. I went out to eat with my daughter in law and to walmart today. Bought her birthday present early. Because she was
there. And bought the newest Chihuahua movie for tomorrow night, because
Derrick has a dentist appt. And I thought it would be perfect for after.

So we will be ready.

I am going to take him for lunch and then we will do the dentist and the
movie.

10-4 Grandson's Birthday
 

New month again. I have been under the weather for a week. Man when I get sick I do it good. I know what was causing it but no idea how to help it.
Other than next time I go up there I wont be drinking their fountain drinks.
Not sure if I'll eat the food either. But still can't figure out what would be
different about their roast beef from Arby's. But can their potato cakes.

So I definately wont be getting them again. I am pretty sure its the reason
I was sick. Same area as last time I was so sick for a week and didn't know
why.

Anyway, finally was well enough yesterday I could venture out to get my
hair done. And find a outfit for the wedding this weekend. I was getting
worried I wasn't going to feel like going. So was my kokomo family. They
had been checking up on me. At least they would have understood.

My youngest grandson turns 6 today. He and his mother are not it seems
going to the wedding. She is sick and not feeling well enough to try. She
has a really bad time with her period. And it keeps her in bed for days.

So I registered 3 extra's it looks like, I don't care. Even if someone says something. As long as that son goes with the rest of us. It will be fine.
He is the one my nephew was the closest to.

I will be around talking more.

My Nephew.

I am looking so forward to having all three of my son's there.

Just got a call tonight. Devin let me know their union, His and Danny's
are meeting in the morning on saturday.

So Its not good. But will work.

I'm guessing Danny will be by tomorrow, to try and tell me too.

But a 10am meeting should be over by 1pm I would hope.

Oh I had such a nice meeting with a mom this morning.

I have been wondering why my area has been so slow.
But its been picking back up.

And this is going to be a interesting case. But its worth the
time. But I might in the end pick up another volunteer.

Anyway I also got to talk about seizures, because some actions
could easily be. Helped her find a book upstairs in the library
after we finished. With her son then finding a audio book which
she then went back down and found the book to go with.

To me seeing this child I'm trying to help get back in school. And
then watching him. Was great. I could see this isn't a out of school
placement without some trying at school first.

Well all 3 of my boys, and my husband and I had a great time at the
wedding. Even though we got cold outside at the wedding.

I was helping Derrick get some fall pictures before the wedding and
didn't grab my coat. So I didn't have it outside. But it was a nice
ceremony. With a irish accent to it.

She is irish decendant. So they put some things in for that. And then
we had a slight cocktail hour. And open bar. Which one of my son's
kind of went overboard. But at least he was with us. And was drinking
beers only. And it was only because it was free.

He is stingy with his money. So if he had to buy it, he wouldn't have
been drinking that much. They had strob lights, so I was worried about
Derrick, but he handled them for a good part of the night. Left to
sit in the lobby area at about 1/2 hour before we left.

They also had a bagpipe group come play, it was nice. And the bride
and groom danced to that. Then Derrick was out dancing some.
And he said, later that one of my nephews got Devin to dance some.

Then when Danny and I were saying our good-byes. Of all things
they were doing the congo line, and someone grabbed Danny, and
off he went. So I was waiting. Next thing I saw was Danny on the
dance floor dancing away.

So I went out front and said, well Danny joined the congo line, and
now is on the Dance floor.

heeheeh, My Sister's husband who is real good friends with Dale,
had gone out front to talk to him. And then my sister Dee had
come to join us. I think my mom, had told her Derrick had to come
out there, So she came to tell him good-bye.

And someone else was out there, but I can't remember who. One
of my nephews. So its really nice when they remember he sometimes
has to be careful.

Oh I remember my Mom, also came out to give Derrick a hug. I hadn't
expected her too. Because she has some trouble walking. But I believe
since Danny was on the dance floor she had time. Sometimes, there
is small favors.

Now I have to tell you the really good news.

Danny is eating and gaining weight.

On the way to Indy. Danny said: Man I'm hungry. And we weren't
even in Lafayette yet. He wasn't asking to stop and get food.

When we stopped to get gas. I said, well if you want you can
go into this gas station and see if they have any thing you can eat.
Even a candy bar. He said, A candy bar, isn't going to fill me,
up I'm too hungry. My son Devin just started laughing so Derrick
and I did too. Dale opened the door and wanted to know what
we all were laughing about. So we told him.

We went down the road. And he pulled into McDonald's and told
me he was getting a sweet tea. Did I want one.
So I got one. He asked Danny what he wanted (meaning a drink)
He answered: A double quarter pounder please. Dad Said: hey you
don't need that big a sandwich do you. Then he said well I guess
I have been trying to fatten you up. I asked what do you want to
drink. Dad had talked him down into a different sandwich, But he
ended up with his double. The other two boy got drinks, and one
fries.

And I got a double cheeseburger.

Anyway. Then at the dinner, my son was a eating machine.

Its so nice to see him eating again. We are definately happy.

Wanted to let everyone know.

I also had bought him a size bigger pants because I couldn't
find the 30x32's he needs

and he fits into the 32x32's yah.
