My sister and her family are undergoing a trial related to the death of my 9 year old nephew mathew...ten years ago.THey will be in court for this week and possibly next week. It has been awful for them...all of these years and hopefully will have some closure soon.

Well week one is down and they are doing as good as can be expected. yesterday was especially hard but very empowering. I am getting updates from a good friend of theirs and my dad. Next week the defense bring in their witnessesthey will be done thursday or friday.

I am so sorry for the Bizi. Especially this week as the defense has their go. They attack the emotions, break you down, relive the horror. My prayers for strength will by with them.
I know what they are going through and how difficult it is. There is no word to describe how it takes a toll and the defense preys on that.

I am sorry for not updating you guys.
the trial is over it was a hung jury....they could not come to an agreement on 2 of the 3 charges/entities . one they the surgeon they found not guilty, the anesthesiologist they found 5 out of 6 found him not guilty but the surgicenter they found it 5 out of 6 guilty. so that now they will either settle out of court or have a new trial. I hope they settle as they spent so much money on the trial and it has gone on for 10 years...I want my sister and her family to have some closure and heal. IT is long over due.

Oh, not the out come I was hoping to hear for them. Ten years, their aching hearts. I don't know what is wrong with juries. I am so glad that I decided to go with a mediator. Because of his wife's death near the end it added five extra months, but finally over and favorable.

The monetary is bitter sweet. There is no way to explain how you feel when it is used. Even to make new memories, the old ones are relived and feel so unfair.
I hope there is a generous settlement made and closure. Healing, does not happen,but the battle is finally over.

My prayers for their family.

they are waiting on some new test results....their is a condition called rapid metabolizer that some of these other kids who have died following this same procedure. they had tissue samples left to be tested to rule this out for him. I hope that comes back soon.

all my prayers and best wishes for closur to your family I know how hard it is to lose a child as I lost my middle son in 2001 and it still not easy to deal with , I gess because it is not sapose to work that way are children are sapose to out live us not the other way around,just know I will be sending up many prayers for you and them:grouphug::grouphug:

The second trial is in the works the lawyers are posturing and we are hoping that they will settle instead of going thru another very expensive trial.

My sister said there was much healing going on during that trial. She has a good head on her shoulders and lots of love in her heart. She has amazing strength.:)
