It's beginning to look alot like halloween.....

WE are going to go pick our pumpkins today at a pumpkin patch. Our local church sets of fields of pallets with hundreds of pumpkins to sort thru. Lots of fun. Hubby put up a dozen tombstones in the yard, a coffin is leaning against the front door and a few skeletons are about. It is starting to look like halloween at our house! We will have 200 kids come thru our neighbor hood. always fun to see which ones will be brave enough to come up to us. There will be strobe lights fog machine scarey music and we will be in scarey costumes. What fun!

just wanted to add that we don't do anything gross for our decorations! It is all fun, parents love us, we paint up our faces with black face paint and go as dead bride and groom, I wear an old wedding dress and hubby a tall man 6.5 wears a top hat.

I will try to take pictures of what Derrick has planned for his area outside
on Saturday. He has already started. He has trash bags, that are all
halloween design some light up. They have different things on them.

He has a light up tombstone I think it is for the ground. And lots of
neat signs, Stop sign shape, that says, stop, for treats.

And some neat ghost.

And a neat ghost that will set on the table that plays music.

Not sure what all else he has bought. And to give away, light sticks,
and some other toy things.

Then Dale and I will get him candy. I think my husband has already
bought some candy for him.

Oh and the dogs have costumes to be included outside too.:grouphug:

I have my Halloween pj's on..... does that count?

Other than that, I don't do Halloween....my anxiety goes through the roof!!!!

Mari 10-23-2012 01:31 AM

Yeah, I remember being dragged to mass on the eves of both All Souls Day and All Saints Day when I was a kid because my mother likes going to church. --- 'still think of them a little as church days.
Twice hubby and I did the candy thing.

Halloween freaks me out

I don't want people to see my house, I don't want Trip barking at the door bell. I have decided this year to put a bucket of candy and a sign on the door saying that i am not home and hang out on the deck with a fire in the chiminea.

Dmom3005 10-23-2012 11:35 AM

Yes, Abbie that is a good way to participate. And it makes sense lots
don't care for this holiday.

Tbi, that is a good way to offer a celebration for the kids.

Hi, H,

Right. We do not decorate and therefore no one comes by.

I like that you can hangout on your deck with a fire. :)

Hi, Bizi,

It is fine. I think that some of us do not enjoy Halloween as much as other people do.
It is great that you enjoy preparing for the holiday.

google is fun today!
jeff made a lot of progress over the last couple of days, he has about 3 hours to put on his final touches, fog machine strobe lights spooky sounds from speakers, it takes awhile to get our faces painted up too. wedding dress won't fit the same, will just have to not zip it up in back...next year it will fit better!
happy halloween!

Bizi

Please take a picture of all the neat things.

And please of you guys. Even separately.

I am trying to figure out how to get the picture my friend took
of Derrick's table on to here. Even though it doesn't really
show the table. It shows how much fun he was having.

Happy Halloween everyone!!!!!

I wish I could enjoy halloween....I just can't.
I get so anxious!! I hate it every time some
comes to the door. So i'm just going to go to bed early.
Maybe watch a movie or some tv with the lights out.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

halloween was fun at our house! lots of kids and parents came out, lots of compliments and a few crying kids and then those across the street that would not even come over. jeff is very stiff this morning from all of his work yesterday. We had a couple of technical problems one his microphone had a short in it so he kept coming in and out. then one of our speakers for the music just did not work so we had to come up with another alternative for the spooky sounds.
fun! hubby took a few pictures will try to post some later.
