At the ER
Went for a walk and started to feel dizzy, light headed and almost blacked out. Next thing I know, my gait and balance went off and I had to sit down. Hands went numb, skin turned pale then blue, head fogged up and coordination went off.
Had to call 911 :( I've got a stomach bug so they're trying to blame it on that and anxiety. Highly doubt it's anxiety (not worried bout nothin) and some of the symptoms dont match with a stomach bug. Can barely speak right now. My brain is toast. Sigh.. .. |
i feel your pain... that happened to me last year at my house, was getting something to drink out of my fridge and felt dizzy and confused so i grabbed onto counter and slowly collapsed to the floor, not sure how long i was out but when i came back i was panicked and called my momma and she called 911 and made them do brain scans etc.... I swear my local ER probably just thinks i'm crazy lol

I had a similar thing happen to me after my first concussion. They told me I had PTSD and sent me home. I was not a happy camper. Anyways sorry to hear of this!!

Hope you feel better nick.... let us know what the genius' at the ER say lol

Feel better, sorry to hear this happened to you.

I remember you saying in an earlier post that drinking fluids made you feel bad... try drinking with a straw in case that weird symptom is somehow related to that kind of neck movement ...?? Which makes me suspect you're not drinking enough and so of course you're dehydrated and that would definitely account for your symptoms. Fluids are absolutely essential or you'll end up in ER with IV bags hangin' off your arm. Hope you're feeling better soon! |
Have you had a spinal tap because you are not making progress?I hope you get better soon and get some answers.

Update?
Has anyone heard from Space Cadet? I've been worried about the silence on this one.
Hurry back dude, we are worried about you! |
Highly doubt it's anxiety (not worried bout nothin) Anxiety isn't always about worry. Sometimes anxiety and panic just happen. When our brains aren't working right it is more likely to happen without a specific trigger. |
Wow, thank you for the overwhelming response.
I was at the ER all day and night. My vitals were good when I got there. They treated me for the flu bug with a nausea medation, Zofran, which made my stomach feel better. They didn't say or do anything about the dizzines, body leaning to one side, coordination and numbness in my hands (which was my chief complaint). Staff was very rude and incompetent, especially the nurse, and I didn't get to speak with the doctor for 4 hours, even though he was sitting at the nurse's station the entire time (watching YouTube videos?). My urine sample came back positive for bilirubin, which could indicate a liver disorder. However, they told me after 2 hours it was a false positive. They checked my vitals again before discharge and found out I had a fever of 102.3. Weird...I didn't have a fever when I came in. Gave me more fluids, Tylenol and sent me home with a sammich and some soup. Oh, and a script for Zofran which I didn't have to take. I felt fine by the next day. On the other hand, my cognition has continued to get worse, which is the reason I haven't been posting on here. I'm struggling to put my thoughts and feelings into words, spaced out 24/7, memory (immediate, short and long term) is failing on me and more. I don't trust the people at the ER, so I'm following up with my PCP next week to check my liver. Last thing I need is liver disease/disorder lol, but that could be the reason for my decline? We shall soon find out. Thanks everybody. You're all a wonderul support to me Oh, and about staying hydrated. Even though drinking fluids makes me really foggy, I still drink 2 liters of water daily. It's like a ritual for me. I haven't had a spinal tap done. I've requested it numerous times but they won't give it to me. They said if I had MS, it would show up on a MRI by now. |
