Dr's words

Dr said today I was the worst case of PCS he has ever seen :(..the good news is he said I can't get any worse..now what  3 years and counting  he said he would have my impairment rating next week..

What kind of symptoms do you have?

What therapies have you tried?

If you give us some more info, maybe we can help you find some work arounds :)

I wouldn't focus on what your Dr. said. Most don't fully understand PCS, unless they've lived it themselves.

I am sorry. I know how you feel. I have had this problem for many years with not very much improvement. Are you going to try and get on disability? Maybe we can't work anymore but we can still have a life. We just have to work around the problems. I know it is hard. Have you had a neuropsychological evaluation?

I have had a neuropsychological evaluation it was just done so I don't know the results yet and yes I have singed up for ssdi but have been turned down and it is now at the appeals council my workers comp case is next month so maybe that will bring some relief

SmilinEyesMs305 03-16-2013 05:30 PM

Ugh... both of those are enough to drive stress through the roof and ramp up your symptoms. Try as much as you can to leave that stuff to your lawyers and doctors.

What therapies/treatments have you tried?

NOS,
I was denied disability at the ALJ level. Just started a new claim. Am in the middle of neuropsychological testing. I have heard this is the "silver bullet" for being approved for disability through cognitive impairment, TBI and PCS. Looks like you are on track. Hope all goes well at your hearing. Yeah, I did leave it in my lawyers hands and was denied. Not this time.
Good luck brother,
Brain

NOS455,

Have you tried prednisone yet ? Maybe you have a broad based vasculitis.

Does your screen name mean New Old Stock 455 as in an Olds 455 ?

SmilinEyesMs305 03-17-2013 05:26 AM

Have you tried vestibular therapy or had your vision checked by a neuro-opthamologist? If your vestibular system is out of whack or your eyes aren't working together, that could cause the dizziness you are experiencing.

I am in the same boat as you. I am lucky if I can get out of the house for a few hours a day a couple times a week. I get so fatigued and symptoms come on. Not to mention that I have chronic pain. I am unable to exercise either. I count it as exercise just getting dressed and doing laundry etc. because it is so hard now.
Hope your appeal works in your favor for disability. I decided to just start a new claim because it sounds like it will be faster even though I will be giving up a lot of back pay. It has taken since filing in 2009 to get to this point.
Let me know how it goes for you please.
