Starting Numbness in leg?

Last night when I was trying to go to sleep, it was hard for me to sleep. Took around 2-3 hours before I eventually did. One thing I noticed was my left leg trying to go to sleep itself - and no matter what position I tried laying in, it tried to go to sleep. Not sure if this is MS related or not. I was DXed back in early April with RRMS. Although I have MS, I have not experienced the numbness yet, so I didn't know if this was the start. My left leg now doesn't feel numb right now, but it does feel different than my right.

Hope it feels better for you. Could be MS related, who knows with this crazy disease. Sometimes, I try to not think that it's MS related, usually trying to find another explanation. Maybe, I have a pinched nerve and everything else I can to talk myself out of this terrible illness. But who knows. Lesions, plaster my brain. Must be MS, when I have this problem. Right now, it's my right leg that is numb. Thought maybe I moved something wrong at work, or bent down wrong with the kids. But, you know what, those lesions certainly block the way our CNS talks to the rest of our body. Must be, the numbness in my right leg, feels awful to touch, hard to describe.

I hate having Multiple Sclerosis. Must be affecting other areas of my life. Forget about myself trying to tell myself that it's everything else, but MS.

Time for me to find another neuro. I liked that other one I had, but I have my reasons...

my firstb ms attack presented as my right thigh feeling asleep and within a week i ended up on the floor for hours. good luck and be careful :(

Not my leg, but my half of my arm and two fingers went numb....I thought it was normal like when you sleep on it to long, but it is still quite numb today.... Has to be MS related and I'm not liking this at all.

Today while sitting at lunch, it started to become numb again, so I got up from the table and walked around to get the blood flowing. But it still feels really weird as of now...Not sure what to do at this point but wait?

Can your primary doctor do anything for you, while you wait, in between appointments to your neuro? Or can you get squeezed into your neuro's office, since it's lasted over 48 hours?

I have bout of "altered sensation". For me it feels like I'm wearing a rubber glove....only on my leg:wink:

Definitely need to record this episode, see how long it lasts, and tell the Neuro.

Well I'm only a month away from my next appt with my neuro - I have to have an MRI done that date on my brain again to see if there are more lesions.

My leg has kind of hurt as the day went on, and also if you press around my knee and the joint at the hip, its very tender and hurts a little. Not really bad pain but its there.

My skin feels funny to touch. Best way to describe, is that feeling skin gets from having a spinal or epidural from a C-section, and as the feelings start to come back, the skin feels odd to touch, not the hand to skin feel, but under the skin from leg from being touched by the hand.

Recording sounds like a good idea to report to the neuro about it.

Not to sound silly, but I have creepy crawly/altered sensation feelings most all the time in my left leg and arms. I've mentioned it to doctors, but no one has really thought it was important? Should I make a bigger deal?

Reading this thread makes me think it's a bigger thing than I've been making it.

Wings, if your Doc thinks you have MS, then what you are feeling
is not unusual for MS. It's a usual perk.

I haven't been "officially" dx'd with anything?

But should I make a bigger deal? I've written it off for years as vaguely annoying...

You should discuss it with your Neuro and perhaps have further tests..

this was actually one of my first attacks that led to a dx. Whole leg went numb from hip down for over 3 weeks. Emergency just sent me off saying was my sciatic nerve but Neuro said they were very wrong with that. I have had problems with it falling sleep very easily ever since.

skywalker1988 06-03-2013 04:22 PM

My leg has really hurt all day today. It seems to hurt a lot where the hip joint is.

GladysD 06-03-2013 10:04 PM

Is the pain in the hip joint, or just that area? Sounds uncomfortable and miserable to deal with. ugh, this illness

skywalker1988 06-03-2013 10:06 PM

Main spot that hurts is in the hip joint, but it makes walking make it hurt worse.

used2party 06-03-2013 10:32 PM

I get pain all over in my legs. Pain in my hip also which can be quite annoying. It's usually if I am sitting for to long or sitting in a awkward position. I find if I go for a walk or do some light exercising and stretches it does help a bit.
