What are your plans for the Fourth of July!!!

Hi I'm planning to take Derrick to work from 9 to 12 noon!!! Its a cleaning
day. Then we are meeting my sister and her husband and two other friends
at O'charles. We will have a great lunch.

Maybe go to the mall we will see. The one friend is their foster Daughter
that we haven't seen in many years. So we are excited.

We are then coming home before too late to make sure the dogs don't
get to scared because of the fireworks. And will watch them on TV.

We just aren't wanting to fight the crowd to go watch them.

We would also have to worry about whether it would bother Derrick this
year with the Trileptal almost gone. I'm not willing to take that chance
this close to success.

Everyone have a great 4th of July.

Happy Independence Day!

Donna and Everyone,

Happy Fourth of July!

http://freeclipartstore.com/CA%204th%20027.gif

I plan:

1. to avoid a migraine if I can! :D Maybe I will just eat a triptan for breakfast regardless of how I feel, HA!
2. to find my summer jeans (blue) so I can wear red white and blue.
3. (possibly) to go to the nearby mall and see if I can find a pair of black pants that fit. I discovered today, with great horror, that the staple pair of black pants I've worn for the past .... uhhh... 10(?) years have worn sooo thin in places that there will soon be very large holes in them! Woman does not live by bread alone - black pants are a must! ;)

We'll see. :):):)

I hope everyone has a great day with pleasant weather and that you get to see some fireworks in one way or another.

holiday adventures

Hi,

I canceled something with my girlfriend because I feel too hung over from the new med to drive.

Hubby and I might be trying a new place for lunch but they are not answering the phone so they might be closed.

Derrick and I had a great lunch.

And he was much appreciated by the crew at work.

And the girl that trained him was so glad to hear he is coming tomorrow.

He is getting a new trainer in the dog area. Because the girl
that was training him. Is headed to a new college, in Las Vegas he
thinks.

Not sure yet who it will be.

[Fireworks are starting right now between the rain cycles. I saw them yesterday at this end. We have several rounds of them for the tourists. Bar-B-Q outside just finished when we had another gully washer. Hope all of you had a good day, and are watching the fireworks right now. ginnie:grouphug:

Fireworks!

Donna, I'm glad you and Derrick had a good lunch. :) I hope Derrick's new trainer works out well for him.

Mari, I hope you got to go to the place that wasn't answering, or had a nice time some other way.

I didn't go with the mall plan for today... I slept and then cooked. However, I got an unexpected treat this evening - glimpsed 2 or three bursts of fireworks in the distance, from my window! Not exactly a show, but still! :D

Hi,

I took hubby to a new restaurant that is nearby and that he enjoyed enough that he wants to show it to his friend as a new find.
The food was better than one of his usual places, the price was about the same, and he was impressed by the cleanliness.
I appreciated that it was quiet in the mid afternoon.

I understand about the black pants. It is nice to have a go-to pair of black pants. I also like black jeans.
I do not know if that is what you were talking about.
I do not currently have a pair of black jeans but maybe they will be on my someday list.

New Restaurant

The new restaurant sounds great Mari! :):) I like a peaceful atmosphere in a restaurant, and it is hard to come by.

re: black pants... I need a pair for casual use, but that look nice enough. Black jeans with black stitching (not white or yellow) would be great but regular cotton would work - whatever I find. I am not an easy fit. :o

Ginnie,

That is great about being able to see fireworks from where you are -- we only could hear them. :D

More rain on both sides of the state tomorrow I believe.

Derrick is making good connections with people.
He could keep track of their emails and phone numbers for the future.

I've been very depressed today. I was invited to a fourth of July event, but I didn't want to go anywhere. I don't feel like doing anything, and just want to sleep. My best friend ended his life about 3 months ago. I'm tired of my hobbies, and movies are boring. I guess I'm very depressed, and wish that the Forth of July is over. I don't know what to do,and I'm tired of these constant problems. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Hi Steve,

I am so sorry to hear how hard this holiday was for you, but I do understand what you are saying. :( It is ok not to celebrate when you don't feel "celebrational", you know.

I'm sending you lots of hugs :hug::hug: and warm thoughts. I hope you are able to find comfort somehow. Please try to let us know if we can help in any way.

They worked us extra hard in the Supermarket business on holidays like this. They didn't care about our needs, nor reward us. That Supermarket chain is out of business now. I worked at this Supermarket very hard for almost 14 years. I have these mixed feelings about holidays, and I took this one pretty ruff. The pay was extra low. The treatment was awful. I don't know if I will ever get over it because it came from many different people.

Thank you Waves for the encouragement. I'm feeling better that I talked about it. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Don't work for anyone over a long period of time who puts you through head trips, false guilt, and people who talk about you behind your back.

I was working very hard at home doing laundry, floors, and etc.,and etc. at home, and I felt a strange guilt feeling. That feeling was what they put me through when I was doing everything that I could do,and then some. It's a long story.

Don't let anyone take advantage of you over a long period of time. Adult bullying is just as bad as the teenage type.

I haven't gotten over it. I guess that I'm going through a valley experience. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Yes, that is good advice, and also true that bullying is perfectly horrid at any age.

It sounds like you have a PTSD-like thing, from that supermarket experience. I sure wish you could have been spared that whole experience.

It was a bad trauma, and chronically inflicted. Like a repetitive stress injury, but a psychological one. Some time ago, you had talked about a trauma counselor? I don't remember what happened with that... is that still an option for you?

I haven't talked to anyone about the Trauma Counciling possibility in awhile.

I believe it is a PTSD type of thing like you said,on top of everything else. It's very complicated. I'm having allergy attacks on top of my anxieties, and depressions. I did a little research on allergys attacks, and someone in a message said the allergy attacks are much worse with panic problems,or visa versa.

I've noticed that allot of people with Mental health issues have allergies also. Not everyone. This is something that I've noticed over many years. It could be a coincidence, but I don't think so.

I was up till sun rise with allergy attacks several nights ago. After researching the subject on the type of allergy symptoms that I was having,I came across that website where they where talking about panic, and strong allergy attacks.

Years ago when my panic/anxiety/ and depression got worse when I was around 21,or 22,so did my allergy attacks. I started having major allergy attacks at that time. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Mari 07-05-2013 04:11 AM

Hi, Steve,

It takes a lot of work to get the help we need. I wish that someone with the right background in Trauma could help you.

I believe that you are right about allergies.

While we wait for our doctors to get interested in this, we have to take care of ourselves.

I wish that our counselors could impart healing to us as we go through the talk during therapy. Sometimes I leave the counselors office hurting more then when I came in. That's my usual experience.

Some people may get a healing experience, but who are the ones being cured? I'd like to talk to a cured person who has had a major mental health disorder, and they don't have it anymore for like about a 20 year period of time.

After decades,I don't think that allot of counseling works permanently. The medications help though. It seems like a counselor's help is temporary.

Who knows. They may come out with a better group of medications. I hope so.

How can they counsel what developed from the family genetic disorder? They can help us get a grip on the experience. I guess that they can help us steer through the problems. Then sometimes we feel better then other times. Sometimes the anxiety disorder changes a little, and is confusing, and keeps you wondering as to what is going on. Sometimes things pile up,and dread happens, but it stops after a brief setback.

There are different types, and depths of emotional problems, and mental health issues. Counselors should help us to get better, but not imply that we are not going to have the problems anymore down the road. It seems to be a life time of struggle. So many people without Mental Health struggles have no idea what we are going through.

We can get stronger through these experiences, and the medications can reduce the manifested anxiety combination. We do get stronger, and understand allot more about what's going on in life then people who don't have our struggles.

Scientists definitely need to find out about the anxiety, and allergy combination. To me,it's like a one,two punch. Sometimes I have a allergy attack, and end up with allot of anxiety,or vise-versa. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Hi, Steve,

I am guessing that lots of counseling is not permanent for the seriously ill (like me). But finding a counselor is hard.

Yes. They will.

There probably are many links between anxiety and allergies but maybe there is no strong agreement among the researchers.

Thank you Mari, and Waves. I'm doing better today. When it came to the fourth of July this year, and had bad memories of working on them in the past.

I don't know why it bothered me so bad. It may be a form of PTSD about the past, and remembering abuses at work subconsciously, and very deep down. I must have been in allot of pain yesterday. Thank you all for the help. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Brokenfriend 07-05-2013 10:42 PM

Also,I hope that anxiety, and allergy researchers come together, and realize that there is a two fold problem.

It could be half,or two thirds of the people who have anxiety also have allergies, and allergy related problems. They may be able to help people more deeply if they find out why. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Steve,

I have an old (1987) book called Nutrition and Mental Illness that has a chapter about allergies.
The author took an nutritional approach -- people with sensitivities stop wheat and dairy, . . .
He thought that most people needed to supplement with zinc, Vit 6, Vit B6, manganese, . . . .

It will be good if we had someone like him working on these things now.
I try to remember to take Fish Oil.

Mari

bizi 07-06-2013 10:59 PM

I received my order of omega 3 tg from real dose essentials.
3 capsules contain 2.4 grams of omega 3's, the highest dose with the fewest number of capsules. So I am happy about that.
I don't remember posting last night...sigh too much to drink.
