I'm very depressed,and upset.

I'm so depressed, and upset that I'm also feeling physically sick in my stomach. It has been bad for a couple of weeks. I heard something that made it worse.

I'm not sure about my future. My security feels lost about the future. I've had pain, and panic attacks while trying to sleep early in the morning for a week. I don't know what to do. BF:hug::(:(:grouphug:

Thank you Bizi. It's been two weeks, but the worse was last night, and today. I forgot how bad it can get when I'm going through this. I saw something on the news that freaked me out completely. I've locked out CNN,and Fox on my remote control to the Sat. Box. for the time being. BF:hug::hug::grouphug:

I may loose social security disability. It's a trust fund that's different then Social Security. I found out that it will start to run out in 2016. They can pay 80% after that date. I don't know when the end of it is. This will happen if no action is taken. This freaked me out,and I'm worried about my future security on top of my mental heath issues. This would jerk the rug out from under me. BF:hug::hug::hug:

But I did research online, and this seams to be true. I hope that you are right, and that I got the wrong information. They broke down Social Security into different categories.

Maybe I got some twisted information when I was upset. I think that it started from something that was on 60 minutes Sunday night. I hope that you are right. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Steve,

You got the right information for what they have.
Keep in mind that this depends on how much they want to fear people.
They could state this information a completely different way.
I consider them liars (and sinners) because they find a partial truth and twist it in order to make themselves important and to make other people worried.

Funding for these programs have lots of ways to get worked out.
For example, if the economy picks up, we will have enough funding.
We can also find the funding in other ways like raising small taxes on everyone who is working.
In other words, there are lots of ways that Congress and the President can work on this.

Hey man, I feel you. I have gotten pangs to the gut over all that is going on with the govt. From what I gather; disability and social security will not be affected. Mai always has great news info and reminds me it is a business.

As for the long haul with benefits....I gotta stay in today. My needs are be no met today, and I am grateful for that. Have you ever watched Doomsday Preppers? It is about families/people preparing for solar flares, financial collapse of the govt and the chaos that will ensue. I think about that stuff all the time but really, if things get that bad, I am not going to be sitting around trying to be the last man standing. What I am saying....lots of hype out there. Hype isn't good for me. So I sit looking at magazines in the quiet. I watch HGTV House hunters but I find that I have pretty much seen all the older episodes.

I didn't cancel cable yet but I am going to. They are giving out free HBO for three mos. I don't watch HBO. I was a ploy to keep me as a customer because I inquired about removing my cable. Like you, I don't need the news...

All we have is today, embrace it as if it were the last. God will take care of us tomorrow as he has today. Take care of you and talk to us.

i am so sorry....i am listening to the news too much and am convinced they will work things out and you won't have to worry about disability. let your faith in God help you and know that He is in control.

Hey TBI/PTSD. If I had the money I would probably have a bunker made for me. I have a few things to help me in case of a nuclear power plant event. There is a nuclear power plant built on a old fault line in the next county over from me. The earthquake's epicenter is in that county.
I have NBC masks with up to date filter canisters. I also have a few NBC old army suits that I could put on,and then drive West from those reactors. I have a geiger counter, and other things that would be useful. I could at least have enough time to pray. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Thank you donna. I wish that the news companys could calm things down, but they work by sensationalism, and hype for these ratings, and it's not the right thing to do,but they are not going to change. That is good about Bill Gross.
Here is one strategy I saw:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-1...hort-deal.html

Quote:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is confident he can muster the needed 60 votes to advance the bill in an initial Oct. 12 test vote, said the Senate Democratic aide.
Reid’s long-term bill, which could reach the House on Oct. 16, may put pressure on House Speaker John Boehner to act.

Reid must gain support from at least six Republicans.
One way to do that would be to promise votes on Republican-backed amendments that Democrats could defeat, the aide said.
A second vote with a 60-vote threshold would be required.

Steve, I am sorry this chaos is upsetting to you. It is good you blocked the news, I would stick to the food network, travel, easy going things. I like Net Flix and watch the old series.

But, about the finances, is there a legal aid in your area, you can consult to find out what is rumor from planting fear. Do they have traveling counselor s like home health?
Maybe even a small country church minister that stops by to be confidant for you. We may not have answers but if love and caring could be measured we have dump trucks filled here.

I found out today that the information that I heard on the news, and what I found on the internet about SSDI going broke in 2016 was false information.

I went to my government counciling center, and my case manager called Social Security, and talked to a Social Security agent. I said that I heard that SSDI is going broke in 2016. He said that was false information. He said don't believe everything that you read on the internet. I also said that I heard it on the news. He asked which TV News? I told him. I could tell by what he said that he wasn't surprised. I was relieved, and handed the telephone back to my case manager.

So I was freaked out,and suffered for nothing. The media spins the news to suit their agenda. Sometimes it's hard to tell what the truth is in this modern news era. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Ginnie is so right. Dwell on the positive things surrounding you. So much beauty.

Unfortunatley; the news "spins" so much to get people to listen to them; the truth is somehow lost in the mix. Try not to live thru what hasn't happened and very possibly may not; but in the meantime you put yourself through so much anguish.

Hi, Steve,

These things are hard for those of us who have hard days with lots of anxiety:grouphug:.

That is great that you talked to two people who allayed your concerns.
And it is great when people
1) take your issue seriously,
2) make a call to confirm the information, and
3) make sure you leave the office feeling relieved.

I am glad that you spoke up about your worries and that now you feel better.

Hey Mary. I'm relieved that what I heard about SSDI,and 2016 was erroneous information.

I'm going through a period of relief.

I'm sad that this case manager is going to work in another county, and I won't receive her help anymore. Her last day is this coming Friday. She really helped me yesterday in getting the correct information that I was worried about. BF:hug::hug::hug:
