Cold weather
So, I know for me I welcome the cold weather for the most part - it's almost like an instant face lift in comparison to my melting summer face!
But one thing that is super bothersome to me with the cold is shivering - I just can't stand it.. It's almost like my muscles hurt and then of course get fatigued.. I really really dislike it, and it's been cold here! Anyone else have this issue!? |
I am also having a really hard time with the cold to the point that even in the summer I have to use a heater in the bathroom when I take a shower because even the air conditioner makes our bathroom so cold to me. I've never been a fan of the summers or winters in Georgia even before this train wreck. I'm more of a fall/spring lover.
Luckily I don't have to go out very often but even so I'm still suffering the muscle stiffness and pain. And to add to all this, I have a compression fracture in my back. Blankets and throws along with an electric blanket are my dearest friends. Good luck trying to stay warm |
It is just way too cold to be Georgia. It was fourteen here this morning.i hate cold. I am also a spring and fall person.

I have more troubles when it's colder outside, because of the difference inside and outside. One time in winter I came in the hospital walking, collapsed after a few minutes and went outside in my wheelchair. My friend who came with me said it was like I melted right before his eyes; my face got terribly droopy and my whole body got in the ragdoll fase in no time.
It's that "sudden" heat, radiator heat, which hits me hard. In cars too, when it's freezing outside and people sit in their cars they tend to put the heat up, I hate that because for me it's getting terrible weak for no reason at all! I don't have much troubles with the shivering though! |
Thanks yall!! Yea, I'm a fan of spring or fall... summer - I melt.. Winter- though it makes me look like I had a face lift which I appreciate, the shivering just tuckers out my muscles!!
Right now I"m so frustrated, I was supposed to have IVIG yesterday, and since it's a new year they have to get pre authorization again for my treatment... Why the infusion center waited until the day of to try and pre auth, I have no idea.. so now It's looking like it will be sometime next week before I get more IVIG.. and it's wearing off.. ugh.. not a fun situation! |

I seem to be unusually cold in winter, need the heaters and blankets much more than use too, and I am finding myself wondering if I have a Thyroid problem or something. Nothing else seems wrong, just the cold. Reading this it appears that the cold is as bad as too hot. Is that the case? FREDH |
FredH- oh no, heat is way way worse for me than cold.. walking outside in the cold seems to give my muscles a burst of energy - face looks years younger too which is nice! But, if I get to the point of shivering.. all that muscle work to shiver then can tucker them out eventually and make things temporarily worse until I rest.. I feel like I get quite violent shivers nowadays.. who knows!!! I just like about 75 degrees, and that's perfect!

Anything above 68 degrees and my MG get worse. I can not even be outside above 85 degrees, I need to stay in the air conditioning. In the winter, I keep my house at 63 degrees and I feel good without being cold. The cold weather improves my MG. I would have to be out in the severe cold for a very long time for the cold temp to adversely affect my MG

though the shivering from the cold is difficult... I still think heat is way worse... it's finally warming up around here and I have forgotten how I look with a melting face!!! and it's not purty :0 My eyelids are droopy, smile is a snarl and difficulty breathing... ahh.. I was sooo excited for spring, and warmer weather.. but I honestly forgot how it felt to feel this way.. never a dull moment!
|
I finally have my smile back. I am not sure if it is the prednisone or the warmer weather. Too bad we only get 2 months of relief before our symptoms exaccerrbate from the heat!
