Mardi Gras
I need a little help.
I want to do my vacation around this time period. And experience this time. I need to know when it is. And exactly were. And maybe some ideas of were within say 60 miles would be good to stay. To travel. Donna :grouphug: |
Mardi gras is late this year!
they celebrate mardi gras in different states as well as cities. But it is primarily a southern thing louisiana, of course new orleans is the biggest long set of days of parades. March 3rd I believe is the date. (The tuesday before ash wednesday) but parades start the week before. new orleans is crazy to me! I don't like huge crowds but a lot of people do, not my thing. I like our lafayette one much more family oriented. bizi |
Hi, Donna,
Schedule of Mardi Gras Parades: http://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/schedule.html Here are some hotels ideas: https://www.google.com/#q=places+to+...ing+mardi+gras M |
Thanks Ladies
And I'm leaning towards a smaller one Bizi. I just want to come and experience it. I have not had that experience since a child. And my husband has never. Donna :grouphug: |
Donna,
I would recommend staying away from New Orleans during Mardi Gras. I have a friend who is a police officer down there and he won't even let me near there during that time. He said crime is way to high!!!!! And tourist are their marks!!!!!!! Bizi is right and should know best as she lives there but the smaller towns are safer and I'm sure just as fun!! I have another friend who lives near Bizi and says she recommends the same. Hugs, Abbie P.S. I do love New Orleans though!!!!!!!!! |
I did not know that you had a friend here abby! where?

Oh I have no problem doing a small town.
Personally feel I probably will enjoy it more. I just want to experience the atmosphere mainly and the stuff going on. I don't know it just sounds fun to me. I need something different. Donna:hug::grouphug: |

But this sounds the best. Donna :grouphug: |
I am not sure I'm ever going to get a answer that we can
go. Ugh, and I just realized we can't leave till after the 22nd of February. That is the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. And Derrick is doing it this year. And I've already promised to not only take him, but stay and enjoy the day too. So we will see if my husband ever feels well enough to talk about it. Donna :grouphug: |

Yep, I think I'm going to plan my vacation.
And then plan for Derrick. So that if he doesn't take it off I can just go do something even just sit in a hotel and relax. And go out and eat and enjoy myself. Donna Do some shopping maybe.:grouphug: |
