Opened my shades this morning and saw something beautiful..
 

so I thought I would share. The pictures don't do it justice. We have been having these in the morning a lot lately, but to see the moonset with the sunrise was really great! Fun Fact: America The Beautiful was written while sitting on top of Pikes Peak Mountain, about 70 miles south of Denver. "purple mountains majesty" Lyrics by Katharine Lee Bates - 1913.

It was a visually awesome way to start the day. Now if I can just get my legs/ankles/feet to work. :rolleyes: Oh and I wonder what it will cost me to get my neighbor to remove thier dead tree that is killing this view? lol

So beautiful!! Looks like we are having the same kind of weather.. here is what I see this morning :)

Oh wow! Okay.. you rule! You're IN them, I am just looking from afar. My goal is to get inside and be able to hug trees daily lol :p with a splash of water running near by would be perfect. Okay ... if you have that too, don't tell me lol , just kidding, but if you do... go you! I'm on my way one of these days.

lol.. much of our running water is frozen but, I will try to get you a shot of my most favorite place later this afternoon when I go for my therapy walk. You and your family can come visit anytime!! Tree hugging is mandatory!! Everyday I thank God for the beauty we are surrounded by and though the cold kills me pain wise, I wouldn't trade our paradise for anything .. the fresh mountain air and beauty of the forest does do wonders for the spirit!

Gorgeous!! With a capital G! I agree about the hugging and not trading it. It does do wonders for the spirit. My husband and I are trying to figure out where in the Rocky's, here in Colorado, that we will eventually land that will allow me/us to be in the mountains and not just looking at them.

I love things like that....we've been having the most beautiful full moon in the last few days, very low down it is huge and yellow and magnificent. I don't have any pics of it though... Nature at her best is truly wondrous. Just makes you feel good.

Right?! It does make you feel good! And Luna... that can be just as awesome! Nature... I feel my heart screaming to get closer to it. To live within it. Peaceful beauty.. I SO CRAVE regular doses of these things.

Okay Vrae - as promised I took a few pictures just for you ;) lol.. when I was taking the picture with my boot on the rock next to the waterfall I got soaked!! I wanted you to see how close I was to it :) touching it just like you said.. haha. It was so beautiful today and I even saw a Mountain goat but couldn't get a decent picture with my phone, I will try again tomorrow with a real camera.

I love Colorado as well!! Basically I love any where there is mountains & snow! I do hope you and your family find your magical spot!

I hope others join in and share some pics of what brings them happiness!! What a great way to start out my day - Thanks Vrae!!

Oh wow! WOW! :eek: Awesome! Amazing! YES MA’AM that is what I’m talking about! Tessa .. please don’t risk hurting yourself getting photos hon. But did I mention WOW! Okay, I’ve told my husband to pack. Lol Thank you so much for sharing these. Truly wonderful.

We have traveled nearly every highway, byway, back road and some off road in Colorado and there are some really, really beautiful areas here as well (like you mentioned). Some that look very similar to what you’ve shared. But I see ferns and moss; that’s lush and so beautiful.

Since the kids and now a grandbaby too, we will probably stay in the state, but submerged in something like what you’ve shown us. I have a few more years until the last child will be leaving the nest, so until then, scouting is fun.

Me too! I hope others will post pictures of their happy place.

And BTW your puppy sure is pretty too, and looks like a wonderful companion for you on your walks. Thanks again Tessa! :hug:

I love the idea of posting pics of our natural surroundings. It will motivate us to look for the beauty right outside our window, and give us the good feeling that comes from sharing and helping someone else smile! Let's start a nature photo thread!!

Thank you!! Nature is like candy to my body, mind and spirit!! I'm actually in the Pacific Northwest in the Cascade Mountain Range, Mount Rainier is basically my back yard ;).

Thanks for the pics too and describing the beautiful views in Colorado. I've never been there, but my nephew has and he loved it there. You write so beautifully too. The way you describe things is really special. You should write a book. You have a gift for writing. My son writes alot like you. I told him to promise me he will write a book someday. Anyway, I hope you can post more pics too. I don't want any of you to get hurt by taking the pics though. Please be careful if you do. I would like to take some pics too, but don't know how to do it correctly. If anyone can explain to me how to do it, I'll try to post some pics too. New Jersey isn't quite as beautiful as the areas you guys live in, but there are some pretty views. Anyway, thanks again Vrae and Tessa for the pretty pictures. I hope you all have a blessed day.
