So sorry you are suffering. You are so brave facing work while in pain. I did it for years and understand the challenges. I wish you wellness ~Lottie

Hey moosey! So sorry you are having such a rough time. To have meds that helped and now not be able to get them...that has to be awful! Have you filed an appeal with the insurance company? Have your doctor submit a letter with the appeal listing the meds you have tried and failed. Insurance companies can be such a pain (pardon the pun) about medications.
It shouldn't take so long for an appoointment for the trial stim...I would be calling them and bugging the crap out of them. I admire you for still working. I know it is especially difficult working when you can't take anything. There is nothing I can take that helps my pain, so I worked through it all too. I stopped working at the end of Dec 2012 because I just could not take it any longer. Work had short-term and long-term disability insurance. I was denied several times and finally won my appeals in Dec 2013 (took a year!). I was approved for SSD on the first application and within three months....thank goodness! Does your employer have short-term/long-term disability insurance? |

Hey moosey :) hang in there me old mucker, I know this is a really tough time for you, but I just hope that something changes for the better soon and you can get some control back over this little cripsy monster...
Glad you are keeping away from as much stress as you can, the BP thing is horrible on top of everything else. Do the deep breathing exercises and try some nice candley calm time with some soothing music and positive drifting type thoughts. I'm not sleeping well at the moment either, I chuckled in a slightly insane rueful way when I read your post on the lightheaded feeling. It comes over you in drifts doesn't it? Really disorientating and almost makes me feel dizzy. I'm in bed a lot at the moment with my back, and sometimes my husband will gently have to remove my book or iPad or cup of tea from my hands where I've just zonked out. No disasters yet, but it's a close thing lol. I admire you still working moosey, good on you. it's so hard at times, but fighting to keep that independence is good for your own sense of worth and morale I think. Here it comes again....so weird....like a weight dragging my head down all of a sudden, and those heavy heavy eyelids just don't want to stay open...crumbs I'm fed up with it. Hang in there moose. I'm thinking of you and hoping for better for you. Bram  |
moosey2me, if I may ask, why is your insurance denying you your doctor's prescription?

are you any better?it sounds like you have been going through a lot too..i read your other post..sorry to hear that..i have one real positive you all are real good people:grouphug: |
Hi Moosey! If you are getting Morphine, then I can tell you it is a very short acting. Meaning the effect doesn't work long. It is most appropriate for short term use! Not chronic pain. It does come in a long acting pill called Avinza, but still not great. Maybe a Fentanyl patch? Ask the pain mgmt doc! Also, you mentioned being limited becase you don't drive.....who can help you out? So you can get to these important appointments? Friends, neighbors, people from your place of worship? My church keeps a list of names of folks willing to drive. I

Moosey,
I have to agree with Lottie about the Morphine. It does not do much for very long. I had it for one of my surgeries; just saw bugs on the ceiling; but it never touched the pain. My doctor listed as I am Alergic because; although I knew there were no bugs....it's still hallucinating. The worst part; didn't even touch the pain. I myself am on a pretty strong list of meds, including Oxycontin, and Percocet for breakthru pain. The Percocet at least can give me some relief with the pain gets out of control. The Oxycontin is time released and I take it around the clock. I still do have 24/7 pain; but usually tollerable. With all the pain you have; I can't imagine having to work. I really feel for you. Wish you could stay home. Don't know if you previously mentioned; but are you seeing a Pain Management doctor? They sometimes are better at getting Prior Authorization for meds insuranace companies are decliniing. Gerry |
Moosey - feeling any better today? Are you the beautiful bride in the pic?

Where to begin
you all are so kind..I took my first one today.I have had it in the past for hystroctomy..It did not do anything for me..but have to try something. The funny thing is the med.I was taking was helping some, but they will not approve but get moraphine ..I have a okay PM doctor,,he does try..His office has been fighting tooth and nail for me..I hate going to work, because the pain starts right back as soon as my feet hit the floor..
my husband works 3 shifts, but tries his best to take me locally because he can get here and back to Amsterdam..but the other one would be hard for him..And I do not have anyone else..most of my family has died. One son barely see or hear from, and my other son works 10-12 hour shifts..I do drove some, but only local..when I do not take strong meds..very careful about that.. Saturday nights we go to a auction. We call that our night out..we love it.. I was married Dec.22,2012 even though I was going through a big bad battle with RSD my Hubby still wanted to marry me.It was wonderful..he gabbed me by the hand and got the mike, and sang I CROSS MY HEART to me..I started to cry and so did other guest..It was the best..He is my rock..my best friend and my honey.I am truly Blessed in other ways.. Oh also we go to a small church which most of the members live about 25 to 30 minutes from me and most are older with illness of there own..But I really could use prayers.. Again you ALL are the Best..Thank you from the bottom of my heart..Please remember keep me posted on you all too.I will continue to pray for all my NeroTalk friends..Hope you are doing your best..:grouphug: |

Actually I deal with a lot of spine pain (fusion/laminectomy L5-4), as well as Peripheral Neuropathy (spine, leg and burning feet) and a combination of many other issues, but not RSD. One thing we all have in common is pain. I am retired; but even if I weren't; I can't imagine trying to hold a job. Pain is 24/7 even with narcotic meds. It's been a few years since I have been able to sit behind the wheel. Tooo painful. My drivers license comes up in a little over a year. Pray I do not have to take a test. Would never be able to pass. I am glad you are able to at least discuss painful issues, as well as SCS information. This is a wonderful site with very compasionate, caring people. Gerry |
