Neighbor kid stood on my foot...OUCH!!!

As if things haven't been bad enough lately, no sleep again last night because of the pain in my right foot, left leg and right hand being off the charts! Then this evening when my husband got home, I was sitting in a chair out in our garage because the two little girls from next door came over chatting away (they love my husband and always run over when they see him get home). The youngest walked up to me and stood on my right foot...OUCH! I got her off of it pretty quickly, but as you all know, it doesn't take much. My foot has been hurting so bad tonight. Feels like it is frozen, but on fire, and like there is a vice on my toes tightening more and more.

I sure hope this eases up so I can sleep tonight...ugh!

Vrae 03-31-2014 08:18 PM

 oh wow Nanc, so sorry hon. I know it feels like no good deed goes unpunished. Get off of it as soon as you can. I hope it will ease up soon. again so sorry hon!

Nanc 03-31-2014 08:48 PM

Thanks Vrae! I am definitely off of it now. Took a Vicodin and have it up (on the recliner). The vice is loosening up a tiny bit now.

I am such a graceful person (NOT)...a little while ago I was walking back to my recliner from the kitchen and damn if I didn't hit that same foot on my bag that was sitting on the floor beside my recliner. I have hit my feet so many times the past couple days and I keep losing my balance...what in the world is going on ?!?!

Llynnyia 03-31-2014 08:50 PM

ouchhy I am sorry and I know nearly exactly how you feel, my cat weighs 17 lb when she walks across me at night its the worst.

oh yeah.. between my vertigo, gabapentin, and now this Zonisamide that I take, and well did I mention I am blonde w/ such big boobs I can't even see my feet while standing  lol so yeah, I am constantly bumping into things. I feel like a weeble wobble. Thank goodness I'm not falling.. yet. I've come close a couple of times for sure. Just call me Grace :p

I'm glad it has let up a tiny bit Nanc. I hope you're able to rest tonight.

Grace meet Indignity: HH 36 almost 38 after all the weight gain. I fall often and my cat sometimes is out to kill me. With how unsteady i am and my insistance on furnature surfing in our tiny house instead of using the cane, i am surprised she hasn't yet. (cane use with exceptions as needed, and always use outside or in big airy room and homes)

Vrae 03-31-2014 11:04 PM

okay... that was funny! :D (your cat) Thanks, I need that!

zookester 03-31-2014 11:08 PM

Oh Nanc - I am so sorry!!

Has the pain gotten any better? If it helps at all - I have fallen so many times they should give me bumper pads!! So far, I have not had any lasting issues from those falls. I really do hope this pain settles.. oh that poor girl, she must feel terrible.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

A smile and a joke is free and I use them both as defensive mechanisms against the pain.

Hey Tessa! Yes, thankfully the pain has eased up. That little girl has no clue that she made me hurt. She is soon to be 6, not a small girl either. She is almost as tall as her 8 year old sister. She is a sweet child, they both are, but they are a little wild.

My husband was telling his mom on Saturday how much I keep losing my balance. He said he is waiting for me to fall...should I say, he is worried that I will fall. Sorry you have fallen so much but glad there is not lasting damage from the falls. Before I got married (almost 15 years ago) I fell out of bed on several different occassions and each time I got a concussion. People kept teasing me that they were gonna have to put rails on my bed like a kid. Yeah, I am pretty graceful . Actually, my name does mean full of grace so I am just living up to it...HAHA!

Hope you are continuing to do well!

Nanc

Oh, no! I really hate it when things like that happen. Good for you getting out there around those risky little creatures, though.

I hope you are feeling better and can get some sleep.

off balance

Nanc.... NOOOOOO!!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that and pray for relief ASAP! I do feel some of that pain with you...

Oh you all have a wonderful sense of humor about this..if you can design some good bumper pads Tessa I know you'll have good business, starting with me. :D You know, there are so many things that affect balance! I run into the wall when I go around corners, bump my hands--- on anything at all, drop plates and bowls.. limp.. yep. Klutzy would be appropraite name for me.

For me part of it is low BP when I standup..it drops substantially as my Autonomic NS can't keep up. Also, my HR is about 40... not enough for them to put in a pacemaker yet-- was an athlete once so low HR was normal then... but now not the cause, and I am dizzy while standing.
I tend not to notice that the fog has rolled in a bit too far on my consciousness..more Ms.Klutzy...and then I am falling... And then OWWWW:eek: is what's left.

I feel for you Nanc, and all of us who suffer the indignities of RSD.
Feel better!! Our prayers are with you.:grouphug:

Hana

Hey Nanc, I hope your foot is feeling better. I'm so sorry you got hurt and hope that kid doesn't step on it again.

Nanc 04-03-2014 02:23 PM

Thanks everyone! My foot eased up, thank goodness.

Hana - I am so clumsy, it is ridiculous. I am 47 years old now and my husband makes me use a sippy cup...haha! He doesn't really make me, but strongly encourages me to use a cup with a lid. I keep dropping stuff! I was sitting in my recliner and going to put my glass of water on the table beside me. I missed and it hit the floor. My laptop was there as well as a surge protector with many things plugged in (that ended up in a puddle ). My laptop was fine, whew! My husband jumped up from his recliner..."you are gonna electrocute yourself, be careful!" This was not the first time that happened  I was going to put the carton of milk away a little bit ago, twisting the lid as I walked with it (I know, I know, I should secure the lid before I lift it off the counter) I almost dropped it. That would've been a huge mess since it was almost full.

Just call me Grace! My mom calls me Gracie :)
