Horrid left hip pain
Since the foot issue (rash) 3 weeks ago, my left hip has been burning to no avail. I feel like a piece of cattle being hit with a hot prode. (Poker) I am getting an MRI today. Has anyone else had this issue?
I got to tell you I'm taking every combo of medication I can to get relief, plus alcohol. |

Hope you get better and nothing affected your body again, you need a break, good luck for jesik :grouphug: Ps yes t had the pain for a yer now after scs surgery on 2013. Kind of get me there since then.but again with scs not MRI ,mine can only be seem with X-ray or ultrasound, sciatic nerve damage according with my pm dr. |
I have hip pains because I have osteopenia in my right hip. A bone density test from my ob/gyn confirmed this. I also had burning pain deep in my hip bones after getting an MRI to check for other problems with my hips. It lasted only one night after the MRI but was definitely there. I don't know if it's related to rsd, but I've had other MRI's on other parts of my body, like my abdomen, and never had this problem before. I hope that you find what is wrong and feel better soon.

Sorry you're not doing so well Alt. My hips give me grief when I try to lay on them. I have not had the hot poker effect yet. Perhaps the MRI will tell the docs and you what's going on. I hope you feel better quick!

Hi, so so sorry for all your pain, it seems crazy level pain and I do related. I did have a flair in my hip after a diagnostic injection and it was brutal. I take very little meds and have level crazy pain, lol, all the time.
For the burning did you try topical lidocaine or a ketamine combo topical cream? These can lessen the burning if only a little, it may help. Cold wash cloth or will that send it through the roof?? Quote:

Hi alt, so sorry you are going through a tough time. Hopefully the MRI will rule out any badness. Maybe you need some gentle physical therapy. Be careful self- medicating with alcohol, it causes many more problems than it ever solves. I don't recall your profile, but if you're over 50 perhaps a bone scan is in order to look for bonne loss in the hip. Just some thoughts. Wishing you wellness - Lottie

Let us know when you have time, also keep in mind even after a week from having surgery,we normally don't feel so much pain until the anesthesia is totally gone, hope your pain is already under control,:grouphug: from Jesika |
I did not try cold because I know cold is a big no no with rsd. My dr. Does not believe in ketamine, so I haven't tried that either. But thanks for the suggestions.

Everyday I am having major pain I'm my hip and foot. Although my mysterious rash is gone. I have not been eating the best lately because of increased pain like a vicious circle. Pain-meds-bad eating-less exercise-less sleep. No wander I hurt ! Damn! I hate rsd!

Trust me ,adding tension to your aching body only makes your neurological pain to increase . try to avoid it just a little by little ,I know sounds easy, but I was in such of horrible flare ups,the worst ever for me that stress increased my pain. I was sweating very much, getting body temperature changes so quickly ,was hardly able to keep up with the time ,day and night seemed the same for a while,I hope you can find a distraction soon,do something you like,I'm lucky to be still able to use my hands even when I had flare ups,I do crochet, baby blankets, shoes, whatever helped me,I tried ,medications can only do so much, also my scs,but change on the attitude helps a little, blessings a hope the best, get better soon,ok?:grouphug: Jesika |
Got the MRI results hips are good. Back not so much. Fluid here and there, scoliosis, herniation, all different things. But I'm still confused how does this play in with my hips burning. Guess I have to wait until I get results from dr. ( yes I got my own results) pcp takes to long. If I waited for him I'd be dead.

Sorry your hip is so bad...just chimed in here because that is how my back problems started. I had two weeks or so of really horrible hip pain, thought I needed a replacement op or something crucial like that.
Turned out I had a prolapsed disc pressing on my L5-S1 nerve root. Now that the worst of the initial back pain is over, my hip is fine, and when I had it checked the other day the doc said it was moving well, no feeling of abnormality, and the pain was all to do with my back. It's very strange how different bits can hurt when the issue can sometimes be somewhere else entirely. Hoping yours resolves very soon, and you can get some relief. It's exhausting to deal with... Take care, Bram. |

Yup! Any problems in the L4, L5, S1 region can radiate pain into the hips. They are very closely related. A good physical therapist should be able to help with gentle stretching, muscle release techniques and slowly increasing muscle tone in the lower back/ pelvis.
Feel better ~ Lottie |
