present & living a dream

Hunkering in for the summer...I have tinted the windows; rearranged the garden....ready for the scorch of S Florida heat and humidity.

Over all felling very well...had a bout with that flu that sticks to you....weight is coming off....no depression for a year now...I feel so much stronger....swim every day.
I just heard yesterday about using laser surgery to tunnel OUT the leads.
Istill really want my SCS removed so any feedback on that is appreciated.
80% of my pain is in the paddle area....like they did not make enough room in my spine for the paddle and it is pressing all the time

Life is delightfully quiet for me....I hope to have a summer of the same.
My best to everyone

Johanna

I'm Here!

Just got back from spending a week with the grandkids - 15 hour car ride both ways. Ugh! My back "went out" on me once while we were there, but we were SO active - hiking, climbing, playing, etc. - had a blast!

Pre-op is Wednesday, and second SCS surgery - for laminectomy/paddles - is on the 11th. Just hanging out and trying to enjoy a sense of normalcy until then.

Hope everyone is having - and will have - a blessed summer!

=Becky

I so understand your reasons. I am often pretty much with the same frame of mind.

However, I am glad and amazed at HB and Becky being able to be as active doing the activities they have done; i.e.; hiking, swimming, etc. Those are dreams no longer able to even consider. Do so wish them well with their prospective surgeries; hopefully doing even more with less pain.

One of the latest members checking in. Glad I found this place, even if we can't always help each other, at least we have a bit of an idea where the other members are coming from with their day to day life. Most of my family don't even think/know there is anything wrong with me, let alone discuss it with them. So I say again, Thanks everyone for your support and feedback.

Dear friend
Know all input counts
You kindness sharing
Your experience strength and hope
is what I get here at this awesome place
As you so true
Who wants to hear our aches and pains
when they have no troubles of their own
to even relate to
The pain we suffer is tremendous on the
MIND AND SOUL
it is detrimental to ou entire being
As my shrink tells it the best
And that is
"Eva, you wake up with your pain
My lame doctor I curse
And you go to bed with him"
How sour is that
But working on getting that taste out of my
MOUTH
this too a work in progress
First time around did not fuse
Second one just made life impossible
at times
And I must say
After removing my breasts
as I found my lump
At the time of my FAILED CERVICAL
NECK SURGERY
and to have had a terrible scare of
Matitastic cancer to my lumbar area
Is A BIG FAT NEGITIVE
no cancer
Get my coffee
It i pray is arrested
And this is why persons
like yourself and other
beautiful personas are
the work of The Lord
Amen
Thank you for sharing
Me

Family n Friends

Hey Phil, we are all here for you as you go through the next stage of your SCS journey. It is sad but true, the vast majority of our friends and family are all talked out, they no longer know what to say or when to say it. I used one of the other NT members phrases yesterday. I called in to drop off some lemons to my mum and she asked how I was, to avoid going into detail (as I'm feeling really low and poorly) I just said I don't really feel the best but I'm ok. So she looked me up and down and said "well you don't look sick" so I borrowed someone else's phrase and replied "well you don't look stupid". There was stunned silence and I burst into laughter, then went on to say, I'm sorry mum, I couldn't help it but thanks for the laugh, the look on your face was priceless.

That is classic!!!! I must remember to keep that phrase for the uneducated. I'm sure both sides get a laugh out of it. Thanks for the laugh, and I'm glad you still have your sense of humour.

Yep, I'm here....a day late and a dollar short as usual.
I've hooked up with a Dr who is much more aggressive than the Dr who retired and only prescribed meds.
I'm his pin cushion I guess  but willing to do almost Anything if it would help with my degen discs and spasms.

My heart is here continuously, but my mind.....not so good (?)

Huggs to all! And Glad to have you with the group Phil!
