waiting on a decision

I have been waiting for 11 weeks no answer from the ALJ, is that good or bad I was told by the ALJ at the hearing that I did good and he told my representative if he needs anything else he will let her know. The only thing he ask me was why did I leave my job

:Wave-Hello: Welcome Hido.

Someone will be along to help.

I don't know if its good or bad. My hearing was 3/4. So I'm in the same boat as you.

This waiting is horrible, that's all I do know! Wish I had some better input!

:D

just wondering

SsA never ask me to see their doctor, nor did the ALJ is this normal it has been 1 year and 8 months since the beginning to now, I have had two denial and now waiting on the ALJ decision.

Janke 06-10-2014 08:08 PM

To both posters who asked if their situation is normal; yes it is which means it is neither good nor bad, or at least you and we have no way of knowing whether it is good or bad.

However, you should probably check directly with the ALJ office to be sure that your understanding of your status is correct.

Still waiting

I call ssa today, they said my claim is still in writing, it has been 87 days as of today 6_12_2014

Hido 06-14-2014 11:54 PM

Sorry, hearing

don1956 06-21-2014 12:31 AM

i remeber i waited a month and a half.my friends told me that was probably a good sign cause there getting the paper work together for my benifits.well when i got the letter it was a "denial".goes to show you they can take as long as they want to say no:o..but my advice.is to have a backup plan just in case that letter does comes in with the denial...its what i did(IHMO);)

I was told by the Odar office that my claim was being process, and if I don't recive anything within two weeks to call them back.Do anyone have any input on that

I know you want more than my puny response, but it just means the written decision is not yet final or complete.

I did not have a VE at my hearing yesterday either.

I did have one at my first ALJ hearing and it was determined that there were no jobs that I could do but I was still denied.

I have no idea whether it is a good or bad sign that no VE was in attendance.
Wish I did.

Maybe someone will have some insight into that.

I am now waiting also. It is very stressful. As if the hearing was not bad enough. LOL!

Hido 07-01-2014 03:58 PM

I was told by the ssa office today that my claim was denied and I should recive a letter in the mail soon. She also told me I could appeal or reapply.

Generally, its always a bad thing the longer the wait for notification, denials take much longer to prepare than do fully favorable decisions. When I won my hearing recently on a bench decision, I had the ALJ's fully favorable decision in hand via the US mail in seven days! At my previous pair of ALJ hearings it required ninty days & sixty five days respectively to be notified of the unfavorable decisions.

Its tough to be sure, my win came after ten years of denials, ten years!!! You can lose everything in the process and there is never any certainty. I know this, I would have been very challenged to have survived such a wait again, and the painful truth is, most folks will never win. You should automatically file the AC appeal & if this is your first attempt open a new claim at the same time if you haven't shot by your date last insured.
