November time for a new thread....

halloween was great fun and the kids loved the decorations and special effects, fog machine, crank ghost, skeletons on the roof! spiders in the trees hanging bat in the bush, in the yard full of tombstones, hanging ghouls, lots of kids and parents complemented us, we were dressed as dead bride and groom. this old wedding dress is falling a part but I love it. It is too small and I can only breath shallow breaths so when it is time to be done I can hardly wait to unzip it and be able to breath fully. I can only imagine what it must have been like to wear a corset.
WE use face paint to make us look dead and wear black long wigs with gray streaks.
my hubby is 6'5" with a top hat, he is scarey to the little kids. He wears a wireless mic and transforms his voice over a speaker at the house...we are in the yard. WE play spooky music!
Toward the end of the evening Unfortunately The crank ghost got damaged by one of the kids, pulling on it. jeff was able to un wrap the motor and thinks he can salvage her, christine.. Next year we will section off the garage so that they can't get to her. She was a new prop for this year and expensive so that was really disappointing.Afterward we went to our friends house walked 4 blocks there it was cold. His yard was very nicely done, kind of like disney. he decorates all month long. Had a nice visit then went to a local bar met friends and had drinks and just shared stories and enjoyed our selves. IT was a very fun halloween!

Bizi,

I love Jake Gyllenhall but the pictures of this movie show his so him so skinny and so freaky (intense). Did you enjoy his performance?

It's a litte cooer here that it has been and that is a good thing. It feels late this year. We can usually get reasonable temperatures in the day time by October. It took most of Oct to get to that place.

Pizza is fun.

I happy to hear that you are taking care.

Today is day one for my drinking. I have been slowly putting on weight again and it is from so much drinking. so it is time to give it a break.
Wish me luck please, it helps me to be accountable here.

I got to give out treats this year for Halloween! Yaaay! :) Later I wished I'd prepared and dressed up as something. The kids love that stuff. I am glad you had a good time Bizi. Sorry they broke yall's ghost though. Yes fence her in next year.

I wish you well on the AF quest. I'll look forward to your success stories in this November thread. :)

that is great waves!!!!!
sounds like fun!
I have been updating my medical journal of sorts a one page document that I created showing my medical history, meds, and tests etc. I have many md visits the next 30 days. Pap, mammo with screening ultra sound, colonoscopy consult and prcedure soon, right thumb evaluation by OT this week(with treatments of unknown duration), my pdoc ordered labs but they are too soon, am allowed them one time a year so will have my Mdoc order them when I see her the 26th and then just give a copy to my pdoc when I get the results.
I have happened to use all of my time rewritting this doc tonight, there were several things wrong that I should have caught but no harm done, I guess I am just being really picky about up dating it since I am going to be seeing a new doc. I want to bring it with me to use to fill out the forms etc.
I wanted to get all of my appointments out of the way, our insurance changes the beginning of the year, we then will have a $4000 deductible!

I poured the last black cherry mikes hard lemonade down the drain.
Felt good. Think I will be Alcohol free for a while....

I walked 7 miles on the tred mill today. Last night I had a friend come over to look at the house decorations that are still up and she agreed to walk the cajun cup 10 k this coming weekend! yeah! So I won't be walking it alone!!!

ate well today: brunch was the usual scrambled eggs with spinach and black bean salsa. and A side of brocolli.
Dinner was curried chicken salad and some butternut squash soup and a creole tomato. YUMMY!
I am a bit peckish right now so may have to have a bite of something like a piece of cheese.
chewing gum with xylitol is good for my teeth and keeps my mouth busy....
though my jaws hurt after a while.
Need to finish the med history sheet and print out a good copy.
nite all
thanks for reading

Hi, Bizi,

That's a lot of important work.
Good job taking care of the medical stuff before the new plan starts.

I thought I read a while ago that cheese helps teeth -- can't remember for sure.

Here it is:
Cheese may prevent cavities

Walking the Cajun cup 10 K this morning. 47 degrees...yikes!
bizi

bizi 11-08-2014 02:04 PM

I finished my 1st Cajun Cup 10 K in 1 hour and 31 minutes!
I even jogged some on the last half.
ate 2 bowls of jambalaya with chicken and sausage that was fantastic!!!!!
then came home and hubby and I went out for lunch I just had a bowl of cabbage and remulaude dressing, think a spicy coleslaw. I have a smoothie to finish just could not finish drinking something so cold when I was getting ready to be cold.
I started out with 2 shirts and a sweater and scarf and mittens and ear muffs which I never put on. As the walk progressed off came the gloves, then scarf then sweater. I had yoga pants on and a pair of work out pants over them.
It is a beautiful sunny day today.
their were around 1350 runners/walkers and I finished near the end in front of 38 people. I started jogging because I did not want to be last!!!
so the last half I jogged off and on I finished 10 minutes faster than my buddy elizabeth. She was a trooper about it all. She had not been training at all and developed blisters on her pads of her feet.
WE were both complaining of our hips bothering us. She is only 27 and I am 51. I think the fastest time was 30 minutes, that is amazing to me.
WE both talked about signing up for another one but will think about it.
I am glad that I did it. She remembered where we parked I did not.
lol

DiMarie 11-08-2014 02:19 PM

Wow Bizi, how great you did the run, unless I used a stroller or rollator to lean on I wouldn't be able to walk it with my back. Lunch sounded yummy!

It's cold up here too, frost has killed even the mums already. Last of the grass cut, time to put summer toys away. This Summer flew by far to fast. We had the two trips in early June, last week was Disney, our last trip until funds get back up, and dd has a conference for YouTube Thanksgiving weekend. It's in Seacaucus NJ, across from NYC. The exit before the tunnel so I think I can drive it okay.
As long as no snow storms.

My sisters health is still so poor. I am still taking meals snacks, doctor trips or even to ER with her. Family never shows up. This week she had me dye her hair. They are planning a type of wish trip for her in the next few weeks while she is feeling strong enough.

The other siblings are never around. Thee Queen bee sister that started all the mess supporting my brothers fraud; un friended my sister. She wanted my sister to get a wish trip for her siblings to go too, so she could get in on it. When sister said no way, she Un-friended her. It even showed on the sick sister PM page, she was unfriended. How mean nasty, disgusting!

Makes me sick how shallow people could be. These will be her last holidays if she doesn't get on the liver transplant list. When I was coloring her hair even her scalp is complete yellow. Her belly is so distended and she spent several days in the hospital when her potassium was down to 2, now it's up to 36. It needs to stay above 35 and higher for her trip.

I am making soup today, I sent chili down last night, Sunday I hope her family is there. I go during the week in the evenings until she is ready to sleep. I have hurt from the fraud they did to my father and his estate with intent to keep me from benefiting in the Will, but, God gave me a gift of Grace to help the meek.

I miss you guys on here, I can't believe it's November, another year gone by...
Love reading to catch up.

It is 4am here and 32 degrees. burr for the south! My anti histamine stopped working so I got up and took some more meds. Perhaps I am over loading them:

First thing Friday morning 9 am:
zyrtek 10mg ( supposed to last all day!) antihistamine for allergies
Allegra- D for allergies and congestion: 12 hour Decongestant withpsedoephedrine 120mg and fexofenadine hcl 60mg,antihistamine
This Does not last 12 hours more like 6-7.
mucinex-DM- 12 hour for cough and expectorant Guaifensin 1200mg and dextromethorphan 60mg

Pharmacist said that I could take just plain old sudafed to cover the hours that the allegra stopped working. So this morning 4am instead of suffering with symptoms( running nose and stuffed then stopped up so I cant breath) I decided to take:
alka seltzer plus- It last 4 hours and has aspirin for sore throat, Clorpheniramine maleate 2 mg anti histamine dextromethorphan 10 mg for cough and phenylephine bitartrate 7.8mg for nasal decongestant.

I am drinking hot water sweetened with stevia for my sore throat it feels good.
4:45 nose is still stopped up. I can't seem to sleep with my mouth open.
cough drops have not helped.

This is the third day of my allergies or sinus or cold what ever it is. I have had once a day coughing spells so severe that I thought I was going to throw up, having laryngo spasms uncontrollable barking like cough. That alarms people. I am trying to not have this turn into a full blown sinus infection like I have had so many times before. I really don't want to go to the walk in clinic. This time, that is why I have thrown the " big guns" of medications over the counter, drinking plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
Trying to nip it in the bud so to speak.

5am and I can sort of breath thru one nostril. Maybe I will try to go back to bed. My alarm is set for 8:30 I have a client at 10, then lunch with jeff then hair color appointment at 1pm which usually takes 3 hours and then I have 2 more clients to see after that. So it is a busy day.
I need to be on my feet and not coughing or sneezing or runny nose, I think this is all sinus stuff no fever so I don't think that I am contagious.
I don't want to seem contagious either.

thursday night I got about 6 hours of sleep woke up friday morning and did paper work for 2 hours I felt fair so thought I would take advantage of the extra time in the morning to do paper charting that I was so far behind in. Instead of going to bed maybe I will just do more paper work, I am not tired and have gotten about 6 1/2 hours of sleep.

5:15 think I am up for the day.
thanks for bearing with me.

bizi

bizi 11-15-2014 06:31 AM

5:30 I can finally breath out of both nostrils!

DiMarie 11-16-2014 01:11 AM

Bizi, have you tried Nasonex for the short term? I know they don't like to rely on it, but to open up when dd couldn't breath last month they gave it to her for a few days. It got her through the rough patch. Then she switched from Claritin to Allegra, but she had a sinus infection with blocked ears so then it was an antibiotic.

Her tea was Euchanacia (sp) and warm honey lemon water for her throat.
I hope it frees up and you feel much better today.

It's really dropped in temp, barely 30 for a high today working in the Pocono's. We had just about an inch of snow. What is strange is reading about the super frigid temps you all are having south of us.

Bizi. I know what you mean. For some reason that I do not understand,I'm having the worse time this year with my allergies. I'm up way early because I'm having a allergy attack.

The air drying up may be some of the problem. I don't know.

I'm taking my regular allergy meds, but they are not working. BF:hug::hug::hug:

sickly discussion....

awake at 5am this morning got out of bed at 6 but I went to bed last night at 7:30pm...I never do that. I coughed up some yellow stuff this morning...sorry if TMI..first time my nasal secretions have been slightly yellow this morning after I blew my nose then back to clear.
If they turn to green then I will go to a walk in clinic. no fever but head ache so took some advil and am sucking on a numbing cough drop for my sore throat it is helping. I will go ahead and take my OTC meds,
my sister told me to get some afrin..so I will do that today.
Work was ok yesterday except my meds wore off like I knew they would around 4;30 I was with my last client and felt like crap and my voice changed to sounding like a base and I could not speak up and she is hard of hearing so not the best interaction....I told her my sinuses were acting up or maybe allergies. She was so sweet she gave me a piece of lemon pie. She is in her 90's and very spry for her age.
I love my clients.

Hope you got the Afrin to try first. Because many times they wont give
an antibiotic. But some of my family has had lots of luck with Afrin in
those cases. I have to find out what the neuro suggest for Derrick
in that case. Because his is getting worse.

He is back on Claritin right now. But I can tell its not completely working.

my throat is much better!I had a cough this morning at 2 about the time that the other med wears off so I took a shorter acting med that did the trick and got out of bed at 6;30 so I slept rested a long time again went to bed at 7;30 last night.
I think that I will try to cut back on my meds. just take the allegra d this morning. and not take the mucinex dm. I have been so groggy this past weekend.
Made myself a smoothie and getting ready for a cup of coffee. Have missed my coffee...
the cat is crying insistently for her morning treats that jeff gives her but he is in the shower I believe. So she is just going to have to wait.
