feb 1st 2015 new thread!

Thanks mari,
I like the chat room there are people there all of the time from all areas mostly usa, uk, australia, ireland, from what I am told.
I spent the evening with my girl friend and her daughter at her house.
I brought over 2 pizzas and the movie the notebook, went for a walk and ate pizza. we ended up watching patch adams then and there were so many commercials!!!!
She has a cough and we talked some....she sees my therapist tomorrow.I hope that goes well for her.

got home before 10 to watch another episode of downton abbey....

bizi

bizi 02-02-2015 07:42 PM

Ate stuffed catfish, baked with a crab filling. YUM!
Jeff made a great salad. very good dinner.
I am not going to go to the chat rooms tonight....
I am soooo behind in my paper work.....
just need to be disciplined to do it.
so I will work for an hour set the timer then get on line for 10 minutes(go to the chat rooms) then work for another hour while jeff is gone for the concert do this until 10;30 when we watch another episode of downtone abbey.
OK
That is the plan. HOpe I can stick to it.
Will use the time all night.

bizi 02-02-2015 09:10 PM

well I worked for over an hour now am on a ten minute break! so It is doable. feeling good about how much I got done in that hour.
I had stacks of old charts that needed to be broken down so that I can make up new ones for new clients that I will chart about...when I get to that part of the process(had run out of charts so could not move further.) although I am super behind in my charting....
next is billing.
off to say hello in a chat room for 5 minutes.
bizi

bizi 02-03-2015 12:09 AM

I did it! I worked on paperwork for over 3 hours!!!!
Got a lot done, and took small breaks.
Now am happy and going to get ready for bed and read a little before lights out.
Happy how this evening went.:)

You had a plan, you stuck to it, and carried it out.

Good job on getting your work done and feeling good.

I had a client cancel for this morning so I have a lot of spare time to do as I please. TOOK a shower!!!
Am going to run by the lab and see if I can have my throid levels rechecked see if the orders are still good from right before christmas. 13 days AF could make a difference in my readings ...I don't know. WE will see if I really am hypothyroidism.
got up at 8;30 made a crock pot full of pork roast onions peppers turnip greens and pieces and carrots so dinner will be done when we get home from work. I was able to do some more paper work last night, using the timer is helpful. I am not so over whelmed. Got about half of it done. Am caught up with my charting so that is a relief. Billing done, charting done, all that is left is making up new charts and filing old charts.
This is my 13 day AF. Feel in control, better sleep...I see my therapist friday.
TAlked with my friend susan about fear last night on the phone. About how it was a thought. and that she could choose to think about other things.
I asked her if she wanted to change...that you have to do things differently in order for change. I am afraid I said too much because she had said to me that that was what the therapist were saying and that she felt like they were ganging up on her. I hope that I did not upset her. jI need to tred gently.
thanks for asking.
I had lunch alone with a friend yesterday and gave her my life story.....well rather a condensed version of it. I felt vulnerable afterward. She promised me that she would not tell anyone about the things that I told her. My lifes history seems crazy, it was mostly before diagnosis and meds so I guess I was pretty crazy.
bizi

I called my pdocs assitant today to see if they had received my email, they had not so she gave me the correct email address and I sent her a letter and the cost benefit analysis worksheet that I did and did not send her the breakdown of amounts of drinks per day lists by month. I just felt it all looked manic and I am not manic.
I know that I drank too much and she doesn't need to see the ugly facts.
I am bringing them to my tdoc on friday though.
Spent alot of time on the computer again, not any paperwork done...
sigh

I had a case conference yesterday. That i was not sure how would
go. The parents and the school representative have been at heads
for quite a while. I think the meeting will in the end come out
best for this child. He happens to be in the middle this time. I
feel so bad. Also had the director that I have the worse luck with.

The one that yelled at me a few years ago. We got along pretty
well. Except he really likes to interrupt. But he even thought some
of my points were good.

Wow,

I have now been truthful to both my MDOC and PDOC about my drinking too much.
I asked my mdoc if she wanted to retest my tsh or my hdl as both readings were high and that could have been from drinking so much. I wonder how long I should wait to retest????
I will await her reply.
bizi

bizi 02-06-2015 09:13 PM

I heard back from my mdoc and she was unclear about my question of retesting...., maybe I did not word it correctly so I rewrote her. One thing she did say was that I should avoid alcohol forever.
I saw tdoc today. That went well, she was helpful in a couple of areas. I will see her again in a couple of weeks. Have not heard from pdoc yet.....

Bizi,

That is great to hear that the tdoc visit went well.
I thought you were going to see her every week for a little while?

The mdoc probably thinks she does not need a re-test.
Also, she has to work with what the insurance company will agree to do.
I hope you can get things straightened out.

down to 154 this morning. calling it early 16 days AF.
Picked up my new running shoes yesterday. Yes they are purple and teal and very pretty!
Looking at joining another gym and putting my current one on hold.
planet fitness only costs $10 a month, they have alot of tred mills and are open 24/7 so that is good. My current gym(reds) closes early on the weekends 8pm and that is when I like to go. Reds costs $61 amonth and I have not been going so that is Depressing and such a waste of money. Since I have not been drinking I can no longer use that as an excuse to not go. I tried to not drink and drive.
When I was training for the 10 k I was using the health club which had more amenities(and is huge!!!!) but the new club has more personalized attention(but is much smaller) and is easier to maneuver thru the machines(30 minute work out area) I might actually use them. I will have to bring a lock to lock up my things which is a bummer, I can do this. If I want to take a shower there I would have to bring my own towel and soap....I don't see doing that when I live 1 mile from there I would just go home. The thing about the circuit training machine area is that I would be sweating then have to take showers more frequently...and you know how I feel about showering.
Jeff wants to join too. We will be going at different times.
I will put my current membership on hold for 3 months(won't have to pay) then decide if I will cancel it permanently. There is a $259 registration fee for reds and I have started 3 times over the 14 years that I have been a member. This new planet fitness gym has an annual member ship fee of $29 dollars collected on June 1st.
With my new shoes and socks in and my not drinking,
I don't have any more excuses not to go and work out.
I will try to go 3 times a week. Maybe more often if I like the 30 minute work out area.
I am excited about going, something new and I will be working toward better over all health and well being.
Tonight is the first nite for mardi gras carnival of parades, floats, bands, and beads! Should be fun!
Fat tuesday is feb 17th the day before ash wednesday which falls early this year.

Mari 02-07-2015 12:43 PM

Planet fitness

Bizi,

For the hours alone, I would join Planet Fitness.
I hate when gyms have stupid times. You are making a good decision to join them for 10 a month even though they have few amenities.
You mostly want them for the treadmill anyway.
When you are sweeting more, you kind of have to take more showers. Showers go a long with working out.

Good idea about putting your current membership on hold. But watch your bills coming in. Sometimes gyms say they are going to do something with your money and sometimes they "get sloppy" and by sloppy I mean that they make mistakes in their benefit.

Can you send me a link to those shoes? :)

M

bizi 02-07-2015 06:42 PM

Thanks mari,
WE decided to go to a play tonight (inherit the wind)instead of a parade. It will be interesting because it is downtown and the parade route is very close so difficult to get there.
bizi
I will try to find you a link to the shoes.....:)

Mari 02-07-2015 08:37 PM

Bizi,

They are beautiful. I hope that they work for you.

Enjoy the play. It must be difficult to park and such during this time of year.

M

bizi 02-07-2015 11:06 PM

The play was good. 2 lawyers from texas, man on trial because he taught about darwin in his classroom. WE lucked out with parking!
I have been dieting, watching what I eat etc. Tonight we had a good dinner of baked orange ginger salmon and a salad. It was good.
But after the play around 9;30 I was hungry.
So on the way home we stopped at mcdonalds and I got to go .....
oatmeal!(with apples and raisins) only 300 calories for a delicious treat, and a healthy one at that.
When I was drinking, i would think nothing of downing 800 calories of alcohol in an evening. No more.
Tomorrow we are going to a halloween attraction out of town in baton rouge, should be fun.
bizi

bizi 02-08-2015 09:08 AM

I have been 200 pounds...yikes!
so when I hit 160 it really scared me....Just think I was 122 pounds 3 years ago. now I was not fit and looked too thin on some parts of my body...body dismorphic I think you call it something like that. I would like to get down to 135. I weighed 154 yesterday so that is down 6 pounds in a month. 19 more pounds to go. it wasn't that long ago that I was at 145 then my drinking escalated and started gaining fast then the holidays came and I was eating and drinking freely an extra 10 just came on easily. Wow!
so easy to gain weight! so hard to lose.
bizi

Dmom3005 02-08-2015 05:37 PM

I wish I could find a happy medium, and lose more weight. But one day at a time and it will happen hopefully.

half listening to the grammies.
Hubby is on the couch.
This morning he got sick after eating something that did not agree with him from mcdonalds today for breakfast. He thought he was going to get sick/nauseated etc. poor guy.
So we left early from the halloween convention.
He was disappointed so was I.

I went to the new gym tonight.
Fooled around for some time trying to get my iphone hooked up and charging while listening to tunes...couldn't make it work.
Then the headset to listen to the tv or radio is on the left and my hand hits the cord when I walk arms freely moving so I found one where it was not attached on the side and put it into a pocket in front and was able to plug in my head set and listen to the news. Not easy.
I don't think that I will mess with head phones or my iphone. I want fewer things to lose or mess with and when I use the 30 minute work out area I won't want to hold on to anything.
Change is hard....
I walked a total of 3.5 miles, an hour and my feet felt great, new shoes and socks made all the difference.
next time I will try new cardio machines and see if I can like other machines for variety. The tvs are farthest away freom the tred mills, can't read the closed caption but other cadio equipment is closer!

Came home and jeff is still not great.... offered to get him some tummy medication and he did not want any. rolaids did not help. he hates pepto bismol!!!!
He drank some buttermilk which I did not think was a great idea but he said he has used that before to kind of coat his stomach.
now he has eaten some saltines and had some chicken noodle soup.
now he says he feels bloated. poor guy.

louisiana has several nominees for grammies in the roots category...will probably have to wait for the paper to see the results of that category.
My hubby who is a musician is in there moaning from some of the artists performances, winners etc.

I know that others are watching downton abby...we have seen this episode last week and saw the one for next week as well, won't spoil it I promise.
One more episode left to watch...it goes by so quickly! sigh

ate left over pork roast with collard greens and carrots and an orange.
Was tasty!

ELO electric light orchestra.....
Got about 3 inches cut off of my hair yesterday so it is short again.
I really like it. Jeff said he liked it.
one little strand is too short to tuck behind my ears when I have it parted on the left side...I finally got it to stay with some hairspray...it will grow out soon enough.

So I have rambled for an hour or so.
good night my friends.

SMART is different than 12 step:
1. You have all the power you need - SMART is empowering - powerlessness is a myth that keeps you locked up – SMART gives you the power of choice
2. SMART is non-religious - belief in God doesn't matter - the tools work whether you believe or not
3. belief in The Disease doesn't matter - the tools work if you apply them to your situation
4. no sponsors - SMART teaches self-management - you own your recovery
5. no drunkalogues - they focus on the problem, not the solution - SMART is about now & tomorrow, not the past
6. no labels - you are not an alcoholic or addict - your drug or activity is not your identity - you have a behavior problem that SMART can help you solve
7. you can get well and move on - you don't have to attend meetings for life!

Mari 02-09-2015 02:26 AM

Today was very busy -- tide up with lots of work stuff.

I love hair cuts. I am sure that you look great. And you are right in in a few weeks your hair will be long enough for what you want.

I hope that your husband feels better.

Went to the gym to try to do the 30 minute work out with weight machines and cardio (box stepping) combined. it was hard to do.... did not know how to adjust the seats, lever this, pull that and how do I know how much weight to put on there..... etc.
so I got discouraged and left not finishing all of the stations.
And went to do different cardio, 5 minutes of bike, eliptical, and then some other cardio machine so over all felt like I got a work out done. heart rate elevated which is good. Starting something new is hard...so I am proud that I went. I have the wrong kind of bra for this activity, all of that stepping up and down at a fast pace got things moving all over!:)

Hi, Bizi, :):):)

You did a good job. The thirty minute was new and tried it/got a little used to it. (It reminds of what CURVES used to be like. It had stations. I only went for a short time because they had the weirdest hours -- closed during lunch time and closed by 7:00 or so at night. )

Bras ---- now that you have the shoes I guess you can find a bra. At least they are cheaper than the shoes :D

Mari

oh but I hate bra shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't like to shop period.
I have used safety pins to make the straps shorter all stretched out...I really need to get some new bras.
sigh

Jeff feels fine today which is good. I am down to 152 this morning. I drank so much water yesterday...maybe that is the key to weight loss is to drink a ton of water...helps to flush out fat?

pt can get tsh checked at anytime. Dr Manuel recommends you stay off of alcohol. Apparently, your alcohol issue is not a new issue..so this is of no concern regarding your thyroid. Any further issues you will have to come to office to discuss this with Dr Manuel in person. Please do NOT send our office anymore portal messages regarding this issue. This has been extremely repetitive...

This is what my mdoc office staff said to me. I questioned them twice or maybe even 3 times about having my tsh checked. I was trying to get a feel for when I checked my thyroid after a while since I was no longer drinking. If the tsh is effected by alcohol then how long should we wait to recheck the tsh?
