Hey all! Feeling a bit better!

Hey everyone, I am so happy to report I got the new chair and am not feeling so bad. Sure things are still numb, and hurting, but it's not like I get bolts of lightening in my hands because they aren't being feet for me anymore. Thank God....Just wanted to check in, hope everyone is doing good. If not, just know things pass....♥

Mari 04-17-2015 07:39 AM

HI, Pam, ♥ ♥ ♥

I am always happy to hear from you!!

That is good that you like your new chair. I hope that things continue to get better.

Haven't sewn anything to speak of for far too long. I am going to be making a felt hand puppet for my son. It's a talking fast food bag, mascot for Checker's. He asked me to make him, so why not? Here's the pics:

And this is the ribbon test, I need paint it because I looked everywhere and couldn't find what I need for it:

What do you think? I am thinking of making a tutorial on the process. :)

As for everything else, things are good. Lots of things happening. Been exercising regularly for the first time since the gallbladder surgery last summer. Haven't felt this good in a few years. Been keeping busy and trying to get back to sewing. :)

Thanks everyone. Struggling emotionally again. I hate how life sometimes seems to overwhelm me at times. Oh well...Worked on the puppet today.

It seems to be really cool, the way it will work. Now I need to get my head around the way it will be in the bottom. Like I am thinking a sock, sewn to the felt here around the edges and also to the white felt of the bag puppet, so that the hand won't be rolling around inside the bag, and then I am thinking making some white felt to the bottom which will get sewn to the sock. Hoping that will work out. But I am taking plenty of photos so that I can make a DIY on this project for others. :)

*Sigh*

Feeling really sad. :(

Pam,

Thanks for the photos!!!

I love the steps. I do not think I could figure out a puppet the way that you are.

Thanks Mari! It will be awesome I'm sure. Well, I have to paint a checkered pattern along 44 inches of ribbon, but that part is needed in order for the effect to be complete. :)

Situational stuff is getting to me bizi. The pain in my wrist and hand is coming back on the left. Haven't been feeling so well in my stomach, and I have just had some built up sadness over the years that just cycles around and rears its head every now and again. I know it will pass. Just stinks while it's happening.

Are you painting it freehand? (I have an idea...)

I'm sorry about the icky life stuff. I hope it passes soon.

bizi 06-10-2015 10:24 PM

sorry about your wrist and tummy. Do you take a probiotic?
I take one every day.
It helps with tummy issues, ask your doctor if you want to of course.
sorry about your saddness issues that are having you down.

Yep, totally freehand....ugh....Not looking forward to doing it really, but I was not able to find ANY checkered ribbon that would work online or in the stores....Oh well right? :)

Yeah I need to resume taking one, I had an MRI on my head done, and it showed infections in my sinuses between my nose and also my mastoid bone behind my right ear. Those might be why I have had such terrible migraines. Going to see an ENT soon, but my primary care doc gave me some antibiotics, and I keep putting off starting them. Ugh...oh well, I think I will be getting a second nerve block in the left wrist by the fall. At any rate I am feeling a bit better. So there's that...Thank you for caring. :D

waves 06-12-2015 09:38 PM

Hi Pam

That sinus infection sounds nasty. Hopefully that does explain the headaches though ... in which case then the antibiotic will help with those too... would be nice. :)

Reason I asked about the ribbon is it would indeed be hard freehand. But I thought you might sort of stencil it. Still tedious to do this, but perhaps slightly easier/not as risky, and possibly with a sharper result. You could cut out squares of masking tape or plastic packing tape, and stick them onto the ribbon in your checkered pattern. Then slather on the paint, then remove the tape.

I don't know if you'd want to do that, or if the type of paint you are using would work (if it's a plasticky type, then peeling off the tape might take some of the paint with it). And I know you've got to be pretty precise with a brush given your nailwork, so maybe freehand will be the easier thing for you.

Anyway, just figured it wouldn't hurt to say. ;)

Hi, Pam,
