How many of you have major skin changes?
 

I can't believe how transparent my skin has become. I have watched my skin all over, even my face with in the past two years change so much. What is this demon? I guess it is compromised blood flow from the autonomic damage?

I haven't noticed any skin color changes.

But the one leg that is numb feels like it's made of clay. I can lean up against my desk at work or after taking off a knee brace my leg had indents for hours afterwards. That's not normal.

Have you seen a dermatologist...in case it's not just a livedo/autonomic problem?

There is treatment for severe cases of livedo, but they typically don't use them unless it is causing a problem (other than visual).

Yes, I have noticed extreme skin changes over 1.5 years. Mainly my legs where worst affected. My legs have permanently lost the normal skin colour they had. The skin seems almost dead. Very thin, mottled and can see thin tears throughout like stretch marks.
Feet are a mess.
All of my skin changed overnight when I started getting Ill wwith whatever's behind this.
Its extremely distressing, I empathise.:-(
I thought this might be the norm for everyone with non length dependant sfn and loss of fibres?

I have noticed the skin on the tops of my hands seem thin. I bump them and these blood spots come up, like a blood blister. After a couple of weeks they disappear. My wife says they look like "Old Mans Hands"

I have this issue from my forearms down to the tops of my hands, this beginning abruptly in 2006, at age 54.

In 2009 I had a sudden onset of PN(feet to mid calf); with both conditions the DR proclaimed them as "idiopathic".

I hope to find some answers someday...

Yes, I saw a dermatologist. My skin is thinning because of the nerve damage, so nothing he can do.

Yeah I have the same exact skin issues. All due to the small fiber neuropathy.

I just try to care for it the best I know how.

I notice the same with my shins. If i just give them a slight tap against anything they are so sensitive.

I cannot stand to have my ankles touching each other when laying down. Or my feet touching each other or my knees touching each other. Very sensitive to any of that.

Also, I cannot stand sheets or blankets on my feet if I am laying on my back. They just do me in. So I sleep on my side.
