Today is my first intervew, later this afternoon!:eek: Very nervous about it. Any advice to keep my calm so I don't jump out of my skin?

I'm running late for work, didn't sleep at all :Yawn: , but just wanted to wish you good luck today Wendy.

Get there about 10 mins early, no more because you'll have too much time to think. Remember, pause don't panic. They'll be awkward moments such try to stay calm. Visualize yourself working there, that might take some of the panic away.

oh good luck wendy...this is very exciting.
try to avoid caffeine today unless you jsut must.
eat a small meal or snack before you go....
keeping fingers crossed that this experience goes well for you...you may find that with all of the interviews that you will be the one deciding which one to take..so interview Them as well.

Thanks everyone! This first interview is for a staffing company but I need to see if what they have for me is worth the trip. I have already eaten ice cream.....not a good idea I know. Lunch will be a diet shake.
I just hope my anxiety doesn't get the better of me and I freeze and speak garbledgook.

Well.....I started out all flustered and messed up. I think I almost talked my way out of the company being able to help me! I knew what I wanted to say but my mouth just wouldn't say it!! I hate that. Maybe its the meds. But eventually I calmed down and it turned out okay. All the testing went well except for my Microsoft Office but that is okay. It has changed so much since I last used it, it was a totally different animal now.
Tomorrow is nylon day! YUCK!:eek: I have 2 interviews tomorrow but the nylons only have to be on for the second one.

Do you use ativan for anxiety. A few times I did, pre interview and some tough cases I facesd for the first time to really help me focus.

It only last about 2 hours so will not send you silly.
Really helped me with the year of interviews before I got a job.

Todd takes ativan and I used to. I take Dalmane now instead. I was just thinking about my interview....yes I know its 2 in the morning and my first interview today is at 10....and I think I sounded a little flat. Could that be from the depakote? I was screwed up in knots too and I don't think I was being very helpful to her. I told her how nervous I was and I think that helped her immensely to understand why I was having such a hard time.
Today's interviews I think will be easier now that I have interviewed once.
The first interview is with another staffing company and more "testing" of my skills. The second one, the one I really want to do well at, which is why I am wearing nylons and a skirt for a good impression;), is for a flute company. Yes, I said a flute company. It is called Powell Flutes and they make very fancy-shmancy flutes for people like Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull.

In case you all were wondering about my skill set testing. I tested well for Word and Excel, okay in Office (but that is to be expected because it has changed into a different animal in 5 years). Just for the heck of it she tested me for 10-key and typing. I have a 99% accuracy rate for 10-key and type 51 words a minute! I surprised the daylights out of myself on that one. Unfortunately I have to do this all again today at the other staffing office.:rolleyes:

Again.....good karma please! I want to feel you in the room with me!:D

First interview of the day is a semi-bust. They are putting on the table for me a job that I feel is being low balled money-wise. So I am going to say no to it but later this afternoon.
Well on to the second interview!

Good luck on this second interview Wendy! :D Sorry the first one was a waste of time, but better to know it now then to take a position that isn't paid what it's worth. I know you're going to find something awesome! :D

Well, I am back from the BIG interview. I think I did okay. I interviewed with the HR person and the person who would be my boss. I think I did well with the HR person, but the boss lady :D , who is in Sales was hard to read. I think I held my own and we were on the same wavelength. But I could be wrong.
Well that is it for the interviews this week! PHEW! I am so proud of myself! I DID IT!!!!!:trampoline:
