What is this??

I suffer from CRPS. I know that skin get dry from this but recently I have been getting this really weird dry patches over my body that when the skin peels off it just like a hole in my skin. (Gross I know) there's no blood or puss just like air but in the hole the akin is very raw. What is going on???

When this happens to me I cover the area with scotch tape. (One just finished healing-it looked like a little crater) When I have had a big patch/patches on my leg I covered it/them with unpetroleum jelly or coconut oil, rice bran oil, etc and then placed cling wrap on it.

Do you know why it happens ? Or even what it is?
Thanks for the advice BTW

I thought maybe it is from a lack of circulation and an issue with lymph. Now that I have healed and do not have significant allodyna I can use a dry brush to stimulate circulation in my skin. I also soak in the tub with Epsom salts. Afterwards I use a wash cloth to stimulate circulation and remove dry skin.

I also found that if I use NoW MSM with arnica lotion I don't have the sores as often. This lotion is like Pretty Feet. I use it first to soak in, then to rub off dry skin and finally apply it as an emollient.

My skin was always on the oily side, now it is dry and paper like. Since this CRPS journey started I look like a parched thing hunting for an oasis in the desert. I am thinking about buying a sauna suit to wear around the house, so I can smear myself with oils and lotions.

Quick question. Does anyone have CRPS affecting their stomach?
I can hardly eat. Having horrible diarrah constantly and my abdomen is killing me

Oh Jenna, That's definitely not helping you feel sexy.

CRPS can spread to internal organs but before you go down that road....
Any med changes? New meds or round of antibiotics that would mess with your gut? Any changes in diet? Exposure to GI bugs?

Immune function can get out of whack with this illness and you could be more sensitive than others to environmental factors. Run through any potential culprits and see what comes up. If symptoms keep up, definitely get checked by your GP before chocking it all up to CRPS.

I hope you feel better soon!

It is DEFINITLY not helping me feel sexy at all.

I had a small surgery a few years back due to GI
Problems before so that is probably what it is

But considering CRPS can spread internally from surgery about 2 months ago I had my appendix removed could that have caused problems?

Also no new meds in a while

Jenna I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I would get to your Dr. as soon as possible. Is it bright red blood? The reason why I ask is I had this happen to me for months. I know it's gross to talk about, but I bled a lot of bright red blood for a long time even without going to the bathroom. While I was at the Mayo clinic they did 3 colonoscopies. They found nothing. No answers. It wasn't until I started doing research on RSD/CRPS that I read that sometimes the pain can be so intense the blood capillaries in your bottom can burst causing bright red blood, BUT you definitely need to be seen by a Dr. Also I was told if it brown blood it is older blood (that has time to change colors.) I really urge you to be seen by a Dr. Especially after saying you had a recent surgery. I'm really sorry that you are experiencing all of this. Please let us know how you are doing. Hugs.

Jenna,

You are considered your surgeon's patient for 90 days post-op and this is typically covered under the 90 day global period by insurance. Call them today and see what they want you to do. If you are having a lot of bleeding they may want you to go to the ER. You certainly need to be seen by a doctor soon since your surgery is recent. Make sure you aren't having late complications before thinking it is CRPS.
