Putting pictures on computer
I don't know how to put pictures on the computers. I would probably know but when my husband had a heart attack all attention went to him. Thank you

If you have pictures on a camera and want to copy them to your computer-
There should be a little cable or wire (usually comes with the digital camera) that plugs in to the USB port on computer and the other end plugs into the camera. Plug those in and a pop up should come on screen asking if you want to copy , transfer , upload to computer. You might find videos on youtube of how to do it also, or on the Microsoft or Apple website depending on what kind of computer /system you have.. Or give more info on what system you have and we can help find more for you- Windows 7/8/10 etc, Apple etc? maybe even the camera brand/type. results list of links , videos and such- put pictures on the computer- https://www.google.com/search?q=put+...ter&gws_rd=ssl |
I have a new computer and my old camera won't upload the pics on it.
|
It might help if you installed the image-processing software linked to your old camera onto your new computer.
|
I already did that.

Some cameras have a removable memory card. This can be put into your memory card slot (this is separate from the USB slot)
and you can read from it. You open My computer, and click on that drive and you can download from it. This replaces the need for software and USB cables. Most laptops today and newer desktops have these slots. Old computers may not. |
Following on from MrsD's Post, even if your computer has no Memory Card Reader, an external USB one can be picked up for a few $$

Yes, Dave is right. We have one of those, that I used on our old desktop.
But our new one has the card slot. Our old computer was 10 yrs old. All the posts here are assuming Doodle Bug means photos from cameras. If you mean, Doodle Bug copying pictures off the net? That is a different process all together. Copying from the net is: 1) right click on the photo 2) choose from the menu that appears... "copy image" 3) Then download it to your computer..."my pictures" -- it is best to open some new folders in my pictures ahead of time if you need to-- 4) name it after moving it with a title you can remember a keyword from And you are set to go. |
…Or then again, making asumptions stripped back to the basics, I always found Blu-Tac held photos around the bevel admirably:D

Where is that memory slot? This is a new computer, a HP Pavilion. Only 2 months old. Looks like this:

If this is a new modern desktop, look around the monitor edges (that is where
the Apple slots are, too.) Look up your model on Google to find your manual, for more details. If there is a tower, with your on and off button, and the CD/DVD drives, the slots would be around there, perhaps behind a plastic window. (ours has a window below the CD drive that you push open to reveal the USB ports and card slot.) =Dell this model is similar to your photo... http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-27...EKGPHFW9QC09AB Says it has a 3 in 1 card reader included. Most towers today have USB and card readers in front on the tower. Who knows what HP has.... |
Yes, I think I found it. Now what? Take the card out of the camera and insert it into that slot?
|
Yes. Then go to "this PC" if you have win10, or My computer on older browsers, and view the drives. When you put it in, push it all the way. To remove it tap it with a little push in gently and it will back out by itself so you can grab it. Don't force anything. Put it in with the Logo label up.
It will show up there. Click on it and view the photos, and choose one to download...it will ask where. My husband tends to put them on the desktop, then he copies it to where he wants it etc.....I put them in "my pictures". Make a folder first depending on how you arrange your photos. If they are of your iguana, then name it something like: My Iguana 2015. When 2016 comes make a new folder if you want. Or you can just put them all in "My Iguana" ... that is just one example. |
I do NOT have Windows 10. That's how the government spies on all of us. They send info on everyone with Windows 10 every 10 seconds.
|
What do you have? XP?
If you do, just stick it in the computer and your computer will recognize what you've done and will ask you what you want to do. e.g. copy pictures to my computer using Microsoft scanner and camera wizard. Then it's easy from there. Just stick it in and see what pops up. :) |
