I gained weight over the holidays, well actually started gaining weight in november. here is to a new year! bizi |
Great challenge Bizi! I know you will do well! :)
|
Well I did get on the scale....151.5....
sigh and to think I was 137 not that long ago. november 1st! sigh bizi |
You will get back down. Good luck.
Donna :hug::grouphug: |
3 cups of coffee with half and half and stevia sweetener.
Half a gallon of water. quick lunch at sandras: large bowl of veggie soup. cup of curry chicken salad with veganase and pecans and apples. dinner bone fish grill: lillys chicken which I love!!!!!! it has goat cheese and spinach and basil and artichoke hearts topped with a lemon butter. It is my favorite. I also had a side of broccoli and a side of spinach. Delicious! Catching up on my lack of veggies over the holidays. Going to eat an apple later if I am snacky... Am tired, made many phone calls and will be working weekends for a while playing catch up. love my job! thank goodness! Going to turn up the heat, house feels cold. Bought some grapefruit flavored la croy water and will use stevia to sweeten it. I will save some money and calories drinking water. bizi |
Wow, you sound busy.
I got tired just reading the thread. Donna :grouphug: |
Right now we are exactly the same weight.
You may see a couple of pounds come off pretty quickly just from stopping the alcohol, and increasing your water and roughage intake. You will be one busy lady for a while! |
half gallon of water
lunch chicken schwarma with hummus and tabouli and collards instead of lentil rice which is my favorite. 1 1/2 cup of coffee.... just popped in, still have 2 clients to see. I grabed some food from sandras to have on hand to eat the next few days. spinach lentil soup, butternut squash soup tabouli and chicken schwarma to add to the spinach and lentil soup. Also some elk chili. yum! bizi |
i microwaved broccoli for a few minutes and then put on cheese slices and microwaved a little more. It would have been great if i hadn't eaten the remaining cheese. no scale today
bobby |
I love brocolli and cheese and cheese by itself too.
mainly no carbs! nothing wrong in my book.:) WE ended up having the elk chili and it was so good. Very lean, we added sour cream and cheese! lol also ate some tabouli which was so fresh today. parsley and quinoa and onions, lemon, mint (sometimes) and tomatoes and a few greek olives and sammie even threw in some pomegrants seeds which he doesn't usually add. one little dark chocolate truffle from whole foods. delicious! What a great meal. I ended up seeing 4 clients today, had a nice lunch and got home around 5;30. I have a couple calls to make before 7. So I had better sign off. bizi |
Bizi,
It is nice to have you back.:hug::hug: M |
Everything you're eating sounds so fresh, healthy, and tasty!
I've never had elk… I don't think I've heard of it mentioned as a food item before. Is it gamey? |
Elk is not gamey at all. Tasted just like beef and is very lean so better than beef as a food choice. hubby liked it as well.
I splurged and had a grass fed beef ribeye for lunch today at sandras with swiss chard and cabbage and bok choy with onions and peppers. the steak was marinaded over night and rare just like I like it. What a treat! dinner tonight included grilled herb talapia farmed off florida. Lentil tomato soup, spiced it up a bit as it was bland...really liked it, jeff did too. one little chocolate truffle. Delicious meal! bizi my back is a little sore. For my birthday, Jeff bought me a gift certificate for a message. I have scheduled myself to work over the weekend. Think I will get the message sat night if they can fit me in. Message envy, 2 locations in town. Sweet gift, from a sweet man. |
Bizi,
Nice dinner. That is a nice name of a massage place. I hope you get your massage soon.:):):) M |
Yippie!
I scheduled a message for tonight! (with a man, little nervous about that) hubby is going fishing this afternoon/evening out with friends so that leaves me alone. So a 7pm appointment is perfect! will eat the chicken that needs to be cooked and some left over veggie soup. Am heading out for my day running late as usual, called them no problem! Busy day going out of town for a couple that I have seen for years. working saturday and sunday. but saturday going to see a theatrical dance. Should be fun! bizi |
Hi, Bizi,
I forgot that it was Friday until I saw your post. Happy Friday! Enjoy your out of town couple and your 7:00 pm appt. Mari |
Back from my massage.
He did a medium/deep tissue. At times it hurt and I told him. I liked it He did a great job on my neck and shoulders and my head! And he was fascinating! Part time actor 53 years old african american and very polite and professional. He works for massage envy 2 days a week. They are very flexible with his schedule. He told me that I may have a frozen right shoulder. hmmm. He told me to go to you tube and see if I can find some exercises to do. Asked me what type of stretches that I did. I laughed. anyway. Jeff is not home yet. He texted me and said that no one got a bite...not fun...but I am sure they had a good time regardless. They were going out to eat then he was meeting his old grad student for a beer or two. bizi |
Hi, Bizi,
Happy to hear that you enjoyed the massage. M |
Happy belated birthday!
What a nice gift! :) I'm glad you enjoyed your massage! I prefer a male masseuse because their hands are stronger and I'm all knotted up, but they can get a little rough. Frozen shoulder? Hmmm. I wonder if that had anything to do with why you were having problems with your neck a while back? Enjoy your Saturday :) |
thanks for the birthday wishes kay!
new years day with my twin. New years eve was so much fun!!! I think the massage guy, craig, wanted me to come back monthly and join up with their program. It was an $80 dollar session, but if you join the price drops to $60 and extra sessions are $40 in between the monthly visits. They said I might be able to use my Health savings account???? Might be worth looking into. Just got up a bit ago, slept not good... shorter day only 3 clients then pizzia and the dance/theatre tonight! Have a great day all! bizi |
the other night was rough.
Went to macys to return a sweater. Man they are expensive. I ended up with 6 pairs of white socks and some dark chocolate covered almonds. On the way back I was thinking about stopping by whole foods for a quick beer. Then remembered that I had told the bar tender there that I was doing a 100 day challenge so that kept me from going. kjWhen I circled around the mall to get to the street it passed by "twin peaks" bar and grill. I thought I could sneak there and have a beer but then I decided that I WAS NOT GOING INTO a hooters like place! So I went home and thought...I could dig out that irish channel stout beer that is in the back cupboard but decided not to do that. whew, the things that our minds do! bizi |
Bizi,
You are doing very well with your goals. M |
I get those "One won't hurt" ideas and I have to remind myself that I eventually get to the point where I can't stop at one and it's not worth jeopardizing my sobriety. Those thoughts can be hard.
Great job resisting temptation! You are strong! :):):) |
I looked at my calendar and I am working again all next weekend too.
I have never had to work this many days straight before. I am giving my self off sunday mornings so that I can get up naturally without an alarm one day. Thank goodness I love my job. Although, am behind in paperwork again...hate that part of it. Have a great day! Hubby has meetings today and tomorrow, first day of classes is wednesday. Ready for a second cup of coffee, woke up at 6 and dosed until the alarm went off at 8. Ate some left over veggie soup, spicy and delicious! 147 this am (10 pounds away from where I was november 1st!)) , the scale is going down again...amazing how bloated I was from all of the partying that I was doing from nov 1st to jan 4th when I stopped drinking for some time. Will continue to be AF for 100 days....see if I make it! bizi |
Bizi
Keep up the good work. Donna :grouphug: |
So happy to have my friends eating lunch with me today. I ate alone 4 days last week!
I had a great lunch, talapia with mango salsa Yellow squash, chard and collard greens. It was so good to talk a bit with every one. I think that we will go to whole foods on friday night to socialize and maybe stay for trivia. My girl friend is trying to find a baby sitter to watch her girl gillian she is 9. She has been under a great deal of stress, I feel bad for her. I did not drink enough water today...I need to be aware of this and drink more tomorrow. I stumbled upon an audio work shop on procrastinating. It was an hour long. I was listening to it and kept stopping the audio to do something else, get food etc. I was procrastinating listening to the procrastinating audio! lol For dinner we Had 4oz of baked salmon and cup of corn for dinner. not enough food. so I then ate a 1/2 cup of dried cherries and the left over butternut squash soup and an apple. now I am full! at least they are good foods and not junk! bizi |
No rest for the wicked I guess :winky:
I hated doing paperwork!!! As if working through two weekends isn't enough! I'm glad to hear you are giving yourself Sunday morning to take it easy. Great job AF! Those pounds are coming right off! :) |
I think I am down a few pounds already.
thanks kay! bizi |
Congrats on the weight loss, Bizi! :Tip-Hat:
M |
It is official, down 4 pounds this morning. 147
Planning on going to whole foods this friday to socialize and play trivia, if I hold out watching everyone around me drink and I will drink water. I am hoping it will be fun, guess I will drive seperately in case I get anxious. I work this weekend too. Still playing catch up from the holidays. seeing a client saturday morning then getting my hair done which takes hours. It is so damaged, wonder what they will do to it? High light with color? They say color is a deep conditioner. Any way, getting ready to start my day, but need another cup of coffee! It is 38 degrees this morning, cold enough to wear long underwear. Got up to 62 yesterday, it will be the same today. Clients like their homes warmer and then I end up sweating. My new scrubs are mostly polyester so they don't breath. I think they will be really hot this summer. Oh well we shall see. Still have not done my paperwork....procrastination.... Have a great day all! bizi |
I think you are strong enough to resist the temptation of drinking Friday, but taking your own car is a good plan. :)
I'd imagine your clients' homes are like saunas if they are all elderly. I used to sweat my *** off when I was a home health aide. Dressing in layers really doesn't help much. I feel for you  Have a good day Bizi! :) |
Thanks Kay:hug:
Have a busy day today then going to see my therapist who is elderly, not sure how old. She has an office at the baptist association building and they offer her free space to use. So she offers discounted sessions=$40 for an hour. I like her to a point. Am seeing her because my psych doctor wants me to see someone to help me in regards to my drinking problems. Last time I saw her before the holidays she wanted me to find someone to be accountable. I should be accountable to myself. I think she may have been referring to a sponsor like in AA. Not the way to go for me. I had told her upfront that I was not looking for spiritual guidance and she said that was fine. I drank so much over the holidays and december was my worst month ever since I have been tracking it for several years now. sigh I am Alcohol free for 11 days...feeling good about that. 100 days seems insurmountable. Bizi |
Ate alone yesterday because the gang did not text me by accident. Mark did the texting group message and left me out unbeknownst. They went to whole foods and I had taco soup at sandras.
Today they were there. Had a great meal. Ribeye steak medallions medium rare. zuchinni squash, collards and bread pudding, all were delicious! Saw my clients, ended up cutting a toe while cutting off a callus, she has a hammer toe. I felt HORRIBLE! I found out that she was on a blood thinner the hard way. I could not get it to stop bleeding. Finally got a big bandaide with cottton ball to stop the bleeding. It was awful. I told her to go to a walk in clinic to get it worked on for as soon as she removed the cotton(which will stick to the wound) it will start bleeding again. I will call in a bit, she asked her neighbor to go with her, hope it doesn't take long for them. Wonder what they will do??? sigh Went to my therapy session after that and was all upset. She talked me thru it. I really like her though. Pretty non judgemental. Encouraged me. I felt better than I went in so that is good. For dinner tonight: Had Taco soup again with cheddar cheese and sour cream, very good. one chocolate truffle, yummy! love them from whole foods. speaking of which....I wonder if I will be able to hang out there and drink water while the rest have delicious craft beers tomorrow? We shall see. Did I say that I started a good chunk of my taxes last night. They seem harder to do this year, tax act.com changed things up a bit. Am awaiting Jeffs w2's and his self employment paperwork. WE may actually get a refund this year! bizi |
A less responsible person would have stopped with the bandage you put on. I'm sure that your client will be fine, especially since her neighbor was taking her to the walk-in based on your advice.
They will likely soak the cotton in normal saline before they remove it. And if it's a small cut, they'll just redress it with a non-stick dressing once it stops bleeding- if it bleeds at all. It shouldn't take long. It's very good of you to follow up. I know you feel badly, but we all make mistakes, it was an accident, and I think you handled the situation very well.:hug::hug: I'm glad your therapy session went well, you liked her, and you felt better afterwards. I hope you get the tax return this year! We've had to pay a couple hundred bucks the last few years... yuck. I hope we get a refund, too. |
