Forum maintenance and updates
Hi folks,
We're going to be performing required maintenance and updates to the forum software on Saturday morning. Due to this maintenance, the forums will be inaccessible from about 7:00 am ET until 11:00 am ET on May 14, 2016. As a part of this update, we will also be moving the forums to neurotalk.org (as opposed to neurotalk.psychcentral.com). This will be a seamless transition -- the old URL will take you to the new URL. Because this is a new domain, your web browser will likely require you to login again with your password. So remember your password, as you will likely need it after the update has been performed. Best, DocJohn |
DocJohn,
Since the change over to the new url, I can no longer 'mark forum read' at the bottom of the first page. I asked a moderator, but I need to bring this to your attention for assistance. The error message I receive is as follows: "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid". Can you help, please? Thank you, En Bloc |
Thanks for letting us know... this should be fixed now!
|
Yes, Thank you!!
|
Thanks for the message. I thought I was losing my mind when I logged on and things seemed different.
|
Maybe it is me, but I am getting a message that no threads have been updated since I last logged on and many HAVE been updated.
|
You might try clearing your browser cache, or refreshing the page?
See if that makes a difference. |
There has been zero activity.

It looks OK to me - about 20 forums have new posts in them today.
I selected "Mark Forums Read" late yesterday, which worked. |
Hi Dr John and Kiwi - or anyone else who can help me.
Up until today I seemed to have gotten through the maintenance update without any issues but today when I clicked on 'New Posts' only 2 pages came up. There's usually up to 50 pages (new posts and previous ones) and I can click back if I missed something. Have I accidentally selected some option that means only the newest post show up. Can anyone please tell me how to get these back. Thanks |
Bluesfan, I don't usually use the "New Posts" command but when I do I can see 11 new posts, ranging from 12:43 PM to 2:19 PM today my time. I can also see another 23, flagged with "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts.", ranging from 12:28 AM to 10:19 AM today (I was out (grocery shopping) from mid-morning until now).
I used the "Mark Forums Read" command about 11 PM yesterday so I guess they are all the new ones that I have yet to read. Those numbers look on the low side to me - maybe some members are having issues with the new incarnation of NT - eg, they forgot/did not record their passwords(?). |
Thanks kiwi - that's about the same as what I'm getting now as well - I used to normally use the 'New Posts' button on the toolbar which took me straight to all the posts (new & previous). What does the "Mark forum read" command do? - I tried it yesterday but nothing seemed to happen.
Getting late here - will log off and shut computer down and have another go tomorrow. |
I think the "new posts" purges after a certain level is reached.
I use it all the time, and over the years, I have seen it recycle when it fills up. This new update may have changed the size allowed on it. Quote:
