June, vacation time/mode!!!!!!

Good morning all!
Time to start a new thread/ new month!
Ready to take a much needed break from recording. I sent in that months numbers to my pdoc so now can ease up and relax about that. She has some numbers from me and that is what she asked for. I did not tell her that I was not recording for the month of June. I see her when we get back.
As Kay suggested, I will be careful about my drinking. Don't want to mess with our vacation.
I have been sleeping less around 6 hours a night for some time now. I hope I can sleep in strange beds etc. I am taking extra klonipin if I need it just in case.
Wrote all of our B&B folks about a hair dryer and 2 have responded that they will have one there so that is good so I hopefully won't have to bring one nor get a converter because our cell phones have them built in, so we did not buy one....have to hear from one more to be 100% sure. Keeping fingers crossed.
I worked last weekend saturday and sunday and I will again this weekend both days....can't seem to say no to my folks or new ones for that matter. So far I have not had to turn anyone away but am seeing more people a day then usual to accommodate the new ones.
I am giving myself the day off before we leave.:)
Getting excited now....this is really happening!

Sure sounds good. Glad your taking a day off before leaving.

You will have a great time.

I had 4 cups of coffee this am and have been a mess all day.
just got home and am getting ready to eat dinner. I will limit my caffiene intake to 2 cups a day.
I am working myself into a tizzy. feel hypomanic. I did it to myself so stupid!!!!!!!!!!
bizi
I need to sleep better tonight will take more klonipin to be sure.

edited to add that I discovered that I forgot to take my noon meds after lunch. so no geodon!!!! No wander I was a mess this afternoon.
shakes my head....
I have got to be very very careful....
I can not screw up this trip!

Bizi,

A. Are you taking meds in two bags?
1 carryon
and
2 checked underneath the plane?

=========

B. Are you leaving your pdoc and pharmacy phone number with friends or relatives in case of emergency?

=========

C. ALSO these rules:
Medications and Traveling - Healthy Travel Center - EverydayHealth.com
Quote:

If you're packing prescription drugs or other medications in a carry-on bag, follow some expert recommendations to get them
safely through security. "Keep your medications in their original containers, . . . .

M

bizi 06-02-2016 07:37 AM

yes we are only carrying on our bags.
yes we will leave important info with family.
I have the original bottles and a letter from my pdoc the meds that I take including names of my supplements and a z-pack in case I get sick.

jeff is ordering money today which should be in by monday.
I slept a solid 7 hours last night so that was good. up when the alarm went off at 7 am, have an 830 appointment.
need to get going.
bizi

OhKay 06-02-2016 08:03 AM

Increased drinking + now a little decreased sleep… are you sure you don't want to call your pdoc? I promise I won't ask again.

I feel jittery if I miss my am meds, too. Especially with all the coffee I drink. I've gotten in the car and halfway down the street only to realize I haven't taken my meds, so I turn around. I'm glad the jitteriness was due to missing the Geodon, not another symptom of hypomania.

It sounds like you are thinking of everything Bizi. I'm so excited for you!!!

With all of this extra work you're putting in, you'll have some extra cash for your trip! :)

bizi 06-02-2016 07:44 PM

I can tell when i have forgotten my meds at noon.
by 5 pm I am like a hypoglycemic person have to eat!
So to have 4 cups of coffee and then forget my meds set me up to be a mess the rest of the day.
We are going to whole foods for a couple of beers.
jeff is finished planning paris! so now to review every thing.
Thank you for your concern kay, love you

Paris seine river flooding

Bizi there is flooding in Paris and many sites are closed opening beginning Wednesday. I hope your vacation is not impacted.

bizi 06-04-2016 08:13 PM

Thank you, I have been listening to the reports.
What a shame.

Mari 06-05-2016 02:37 AM

The tourist sites will be dried out by time you get there:

Seine River peaks in Paris, top museums stay shut for days - The Washington Post

Quote:

The Louvre, home to Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” said it won’t reopen until Wednesday, while the Orsay Museum, known for its impressionist art, was closed at least through the weekend.

OhKay 06-05-2016 08:01 AM

I hope everything dries out for you, as Mari's source says.

bizi 06-05-2016 08:48 AM

I wonder what it will be like walking around paris for 4 days with constantly wet shoes????That is if they get wet.
I am not bringing other shoes, wonder if we will have access to a washer and dryer at the hotel, it is a nice hotel so probably not.
Finished up with some details and plans, one of the attractions that I wanted to see is actually closed the day that we had scheduled it. I did not read the very small printing of hours close enough.
Oh well, I am glad that I figured it out now instead of going there and it be closed.
Working again today....
A new hard client this am then lunch with jeff then a wonderful husband and wife couple whom I enjoy our visits very much so that will be fine. So an easy rest of the day.
I was so surprised yesterday when I came home to a box of flowers that jeff did not send to me. I don't think I have ever had flowers sent to me before.
They were 2 dozen pink roses from capital one. Wishing us a happy anniversary.
WOW!
That was so nice of them!
And what a surprise!!!!
Have a great day yall!
bizi

mymorgy 06-05-2016 09:25 AM

what a very nice surprise!
bobby

OhKay 06-06-2016 07:22 AM

Wow, it's amazing that such a big company would do something like that! That's sounds like something the neighborhood bank would do 50 years ago!

You don't want to get stuck having to buy new kicks if something happens to your sneakers in Europe. Is there a second pair of shoes you could consider taking just in case?

I've been to a couple of pretty nice hotels that have hidden self-service laundry facilities if you ask. Most hotels will also usually launder your clothes for you for a fee. And, of course, you could track down a laundromat… but who wants to do that on vacation in Paris?

My addition:

On the day we got married in Vegas, we had to wash my husband's dress shirt (we didn't have enough time to have the hotel do it) because he was drunk the night before and insisted on wearing it to dinner. We used the onsite guest laundromat at the Stratosphere, where we stayed and were married.

bizi 06-06-2016 09:06 AM

Thanks kay, I think I might have a bit of room to pack another pair of shoes. Married in las vegas that must have been entertaining! WAs it the elvis one? what was the stratosphere like?
bizi

Dmom3005 06-06-2016 09:47 AM

I would definitely pack another pair of shoes if you can get them in.

We even pack more shoes for our weekend in Terre Haute, for the
boys. And I try to remember to pack myself an set because one
year it poured raining the whole weekend. I had to go out and
buy a second pair because I forgot to pack.

But Derrick and Will will have track shoes and regular. All tennis
shoes but they will have both. Derrick will probably take some for
showering also. I know Will is, because I bought them. Sometimes
they have to go to another floor to take their showers. So I don't
want him going bare foot to do that.

We leave on Friday, time to start figuring out what all we still need.
I know I have to shop for some clothes too. Mine are a lot of
them it lose.

bizi 06-06-2016 09:52 AM

I just looked at the weather forecast for rome the day we arrive:
....90% chance of thunderstorms and that is the day we do our outdoor walking tour of the collesium....The program site says it happens rain or shine.
Oh well, it is what it is.....
sigh
bizi
and of course the flooding in paris....
just found out about water proof shoes, will look into that tomorrow.
Last day working then officially on vacation!
I have already forwarded my phones!
WE leave wednesday!
very excited!!!!!

bizi 06-06-2016 07:40 PM

I bought the water proof hiking shoes and a new rain jacket with a visor to keep the rain off of my glasses, and new socks.
very expensive!
oh well.
taking a much needed shower tomorrow!!!!!.
still have a few items to get.
run to office depot to pick up the itinerary that I left in the copy machine, I sent it to my folks so they could follow along if they want to do that.
Need to do some billing for work and balance the check book.
Maybe move money around....pick up Rx's.
Jeff picked up the euros today...pretty money.
exchange rate is good 1 euro =$1.16 so we won't have too hard of a time figuring that out.
I bought some lara bars for snacks. dense bars....and some gum because I chew that alot and it helps keep me from getting thirsty. I will try to limit my fluid intake due to the lack of bathrooms there.
oh and I forgot, I have 2 loads of laundry to do, my uniforms so that they will be done when I get back home.

bizi

Mari 06-07-2016 12:07 AM

There are bathrooms near the Vatican and other places with tourists.
As long as you buy something, restaurants will let you use their bathrooms.

The big cities like Paris and Rome have public bathrooms.

Stay hydrated.

My husband's birthday is July 9th and mine is July 11th. We were married on July 10th… Our 9th anniversary is coming up.

We had a JP marry us. The wedding chapel at the Stratosphere is the highest in the United States. It's a beautiful hotel. We hired a photographer and had lovely pictures taken inside and outside on the observation deck. We had dinner at the hotel's revolving restaurant that night. It was wonderful!

I would elope all over again!

We did see an Elvis impersonator on my birthday at the Sahara. His name is Trent Carlini, and he was incredible! With our tickets we got coupons. If you bought $40 in chips you got $50 worth. We cleaned up at the roulette tables that night!

But…

It's not my 20th anniversary. Is there something you'd like to share with us about your wedding?

OhKay 06-07-2016 08:36 AM

I'm glad that you are bringing waterproof shoes, socks, and the rain gear even though it cost you a lot of money. It sounds like you will need it, and I'm sure it would have been more expensive to buy in Paris.

I can't believe you are leaving tomorrow!!!

I hope you have a fantastic time, and get the opportunity to see everything you want, and share every experience you can with Jeff!!!

Happy Anniversary!!! Safe and happy travels!!! :):):)

Love,

Kay

mymorgy 06-07-2016 10:13 AM

i remember once when i went to Italy and took a tour to florence. the hotel gave a big breakfast. I wasn't think and had a lot of coffee. for ten minutes it was touch or go..i had to go so badly and the bus kept going. I was with my mother and we trying to figure what to do. then thank God with maybe a minute to spare the bus stopped and i was the first at the bathroom. I learned my lesson.
have the greatest anniversary and the greatest trip. I am sure you won't make the same mistake i did.
bobby

bizi 06-07-2016 10:50 AM

You are so right bobby, I have been thinking about that. no more than 2 cups of coffee and I decreased my mag oxide to 1 1/2 pills.
Thanks for your comment, glad that you made it off in time!!!!That would have been just terrible! whew!

wedding memory....
Just before jeff put on my wedding ring I raised my right hand and he gently put it down and took my left hand.

Well I am finished packing for the most part.
We went out for dinner tonight at bonefish grill. It was very good. I had 3 dirty martinis. they were very good!
I always get the same dish.
lilys chicken:
chicken breast fileted topped with spinach and artichok and goat cheese and lemon butter. YUMM!!!

I talked to my twin this evening for 90 minutes! it was good to talk to her about her girls etc. I am glad that I had finished packing so I could spend that time on the phone with her.
I am sitting here in my jammies....
our ride comes at 8:30 am, I woke up at 6am this morning so am tired and yawning. Need to stay up or I will be awake at an ungodly hour.

I had lunch with a girl friend of mine: paula.
We ate at sandras health food store.
I had chicken schwarma and lentil rice and collard greens and apple cake for desert. she had spinach and lentil soup and tabbouli.
very good.
Got up at 6am and I had the day off so finished up last minute things.
I did 2 loads of laundry, finished billing for the month, charting new clients, filing etc. Then took a much needed shower. So that was a feat!
This evening finished packing my fanny pack and it is stuffed full had to let the belt out. My sister suggested moist wet ones, so we went to target.
Jeff also did not realize that his toiletry items needed to be in 3oz containers so we picked some up at target too.
I could not find a mirror there so unfortunately will not get to view the sistine chapel with a mirror as suggested. My neck will just get tired from looking up.
bizi Who will not have internet access....will miss you guys.

bizi 06-07-2016 10:49 PM

I forgot to tell you that I bought an inflatable neck pillow for the plane ride.
I have a tempermental neck and needed support if I am really going to be able to sleep on the plane. I have ear plugs as well as my night meds and 7.5mg of zyprexa....I am hoping I can sleep! other wise a 10 hour flight will be torturous.

This is really happening!!!!!
