Christmas stressors.....

Where to begin....
It has just been brought to my attention that I should expect chaos when we go to indiana for the holidays at my mother in laws house.
My brother in law moved back in and is starting a new job tomorrow. He was living in lexington kentucky and moved back into his mothers home temporarily until he found a job and can get a place of his own.
She said there is "disarray" there to be prepared.
OMG!!!!

The reality is sinking in.
Brian's stuff is every where.
I don't do well in chaos.

I am already stressed, I can only imagine how it will be when we get there.
sigh

Bizi
So sorry, but am so glad she did let you know.

I'm glad she prepared you.

I think you are going to have to mentally prepare yourself to the point where the crap and chaos just becomes white noise. Try to focus on only people as best as as you can because that's what's important :hug::hug:

Bizi,

Shorten your stay by two days.
Or get two nights in a motel.

Good luck.

We are going up to my parents for christmas for 2 nights so am glad about that.
marysue my mother in law is as sweet as she can be. Maybe I can go to my sisters over new years week end.

I already left a message on my answering machine that I would be out of the office because I don't have any appointments left before we leave.

I overfilled the tires because we will be traveling to cold temperatures.

I am done shopping, have to wrap.
see a hospice patient tomorrow and then get my hair colored.
I see 4 clients on sunday, then 5 on monday then we leave.
played trivia tonight, it was fun. Though I ate an entire pizza by myself.
sigh

We usually stay thru new years as it is my birthday on the first, and we usually spend new years eve with my twin. We have already bought our tickets to the new years eve bash.

If I get in bad shape then we will leave early.
I am bringing extra klonipin with me....
I knew I was hoarding it for a reason!

I'm glad you called your twin. I think even the idea that the stay there will be shorter lived will help you cope
Spreading yourself out in general is a good plan. You're less likely to get into spats with your hosts that way.

I hope you had fun at trivia, you know I'm a whole pizza girl, too! ;)

I'm glad you just have wrapping left to do and your shopping is over. It must be a big relief.

I hope that Jeff will be doing at least the first leg of the driving since you will probably be tired from working, and he's been finished with work for a few days. How many hotels/motels will you have to stop at along the way?

bizi 12-17-2016 08:48 AM

I am trying to figure out how I can stay at my sisters over the weekend, for new years.
I have no intention to leave but will if I am a mess. I am also bringing zyprexa in case I need that.

Unfortunately, I tried on many pairs of pants...I have a dozen pants that don't fit and have moved them to the back closet.
leaving 3 pairs of pants that fit/ are snug with out room for long underwear.
heavy sigh....pulling out the parka and boots today.

My poor parents(and mother in law for that matter) live in the snow and cold and shovel it for hours....
(mother in law is 84 and doesn't shovel, she barely walks with out falling)
They are tougher for it then I am for sure.

Finished wrapping, final bits of paperwork done for work, made a deposit, few thank you cards in the mail box, 2 more days of work and all I need to do is pack!

It is supposed to get to minus 13 degrees at my folks house sunday night.
poor people.

Bizi,

You got a lot done.:)

Good luck packing.

M

OhKay 12-18-2016 09:13 AM

I understand how you feel about having to move your pants to the back of the closet. I have 2's to 14's.:hug::hug:

Living in areas that get battered by winter storms is hard. The elderly have to have family, friends, or neighbors to shovel for them. If they have to pay someone to do it for them, it can really add up.

You have gotten a lot done! I hope your last 2 days are easy, and you can concentrate on packing.

bizi 12-18-2016 09:41 AM

It was almost 80 degrees yesterday and 47 this morning. weird weather.
supposed to be in the 30's tonight.
have to wash my scrubs tonight, 2 loads because I don't want to have to wash them the night we get home as I work the very next day.
Because I work today it feels like a monday!
have a good sunday.

Jeff is such a good man Bizi :)

Dmom3005 12-19-2016 10:09 AM

Its very cold in Indiana. Its been the coldest we have seen in almost 2 years this last night and today. I'm sending thoughts for good travel.

When it comes to getting out, I am just hoping it warms up a little
by Wednesday so I can get to my meetings and then the doctor's
office Thursday. I've been inside all weekend.

I saw 7 people today.
Had to see someone that I mistakenly stood up yesterday....did not get put on the right calender...sigh
so I did not get home until 7;30 then we went out to eat at a vietnamese restaurant, PHO soup was good.
opened up presents to each other.
It is 9;30 and I am starting to pack.
good thing I did my pill boxes already!
We leave in the morning.
bizi
merry christmas!

bizi 12-20-2016 12:32 AM

I am all packed I think just a couple more things to attend to in the morning.
It gets harder and harder each trip...especially the winter one.
It is good timing. All of a sudden my right elbow is acting up like a repetitive stress injury.
so It will be good to give it a break.
merry christmas!

Mari 12-20-2016 01:37 AM

Good job packing.

Have a safe trip.
Enjoy!

M

OhKay 12-20-2016 06:33 AM

Your poor elbow must be acting up from all the work yesterday… all that repetitive motion. I'm glad it will get a rest for two weeks during your vacation. I hep it feels better soon :)

I hate having to pack the toiletries in the morning before I leave for a trip. I'm always afraid I'll forget something. I'm sure you have everything covered though :)

I hope that you have a safe and happy trip :hug::hug:

Dmom3005 12-20-2016 10:15 AM

I am sure I missed you. But have a safe trip.

Indiana must have heard you are coming. its to warm up in the next few days. Thanks from my poor body, for bringing the warm weather.
