Stem cells

Has anyone done the stem cell harvest for their adipose tissue and then given back by IV?

TIA

Happy New Year!

If you don't mind me asking. What is this procedure done for?

mrsD 12-26-2016 12:09 PM

There is one poster I know of who did this....recently.

http://www.neurotalk.org/1220988-post2.html

If you search her profile you can find other posts about it as she went thru the process.

It COULD help with chronic pain.

Not sure, but wanted to know if any in our community had tried it.

Despite cost, I am considering it.

Hi Baba222,

Has this in any way become a main stream treatment?

Cliffman

Mainstream

No, this is not mainstream and is very costly.

Stem cells have been used out of the country for lots of problems.

There is, as usual, many competing interests, even if it works.

Do you mind me asking how much it cost. I don't think I've ever heard of this. Have you found research that says it could help with pain baba222?

mrsD 12-28-2016 01:39 PM

Stem cells injected can go "wrong"... grow unchecked and create tumors....

Here is a "cautionary tale" printed in the NYT not too long ago.

I don't think I would ever consider going to Mexico for a Rx. That's just me though. I thought maybe they were making some breakthroughs here in the US. I do think stem cells look very promising.

For anyone considering this please really do your research. I know from living in pain that one can get desperate enough to try almost anything. There are a lot of horrible people out there that don't mind taking advantage of desperate people.

Thanks for the article Mrs. D. What a shame

stem cells

I was thinking of doing the autologous treatment, where your own stem cells are taken from fat, processed and given IV.

Is there anyone here that has done that or considering.

Happy New Year!

TIA.

I'm thinking of telling my doctor that I think I should have injections. I suffer severe pain in my feet from PN . No treatment so far has helped one Iota! The pain brings tears to my eyes and life is a misery. I'm 85 so would appreciate a bit peace in my life. Hope you get some good results.

We don't have to pay in the UK.

Anyone know of a Stem Cells support group to talk about Stem Cells for joints especially the knees and ankle due to arthritis.

I'm so on the fence for knee replacement and Stem Cells are being talked about more and more. These are not insurance covered in the U.S. and I'm trying to think of ways to come up with the money to do them. So many worries about knee replacement surgery.

And I live with complications from a hip replacement in 2010.

Any inputs and thoughts are welcome. C

Caroline2, there is a group on Facebook called "Infusio Exchange" that is a geouping of people considering or currently having fat-based stem cell therapy; though they are primary Lymes patients. I just happened upon it yesterday but am doing reading and research now. I reached out to ine of the patients who reported healing from SFN...trying to learn more about this and will share my findings.
