Bizi,

This is a good start to the new year.
I wish you well on your progress.

OhKay 01-05-2017 06:22 AM

I'd like to drop at least 5 pounds myself, but I'm not sure how I'm going to do it yet. I may try doing stage 2 of the South Beach diet.

It sounds like you're doing well so far Bizi :)

mymorgy 01-05-2017 11:05 AM

i lost six pounds but i don't know if it real or not.I have been having apples and eggs mostly. I can see how this adds to the depression because when i eat something i like while i am eating i am not depressed. I just ordered more halo top ice cream.
I just came back from the pdoc. I told thim for the first time I woke up not depressed. I have been having wonderful dreams working with children when i was young. last nite i was finally able to read a bit. He said to take half welbutrin for my irritability.
abby has been hanging under the table. I go under and pet her. I hardly see her eat and rarely see her poop. I made a racket and put of more food yesterday and she came out and ate it. I think she is keeping her distance from the terror abbie. abbie has been buzzing her. rigt ow i don't know where abby is.there she is. I was calling her.
back to under the table.

I am doing what I have been doing. It seems to work for me.

Though I have no clue what I weigh right now. I have been eating
more sweets than I probably should.

bizi 01-05-2017 10:30 PM

congratulations bobby! That is great!
apples and eggs...sounds interesting.

day 2:
baked chicken quarter
veggie musaka, egg plant, tomatoes, small bits of potatoes, olive oil
chicken and sausage gumbo(no rice or bread)
1 cup of shredded cabbage with 1 TAB of dressing.
many almonds
a slice of dried mango
1 very dark chocolate truffle (only 5 carbs).
drank about 64 ounces of water and 2 cups of coffee with half and half and stevia sweetener

OhKay 01-06-2017 06:44 AM

I think the 6 pounds is "real" Bobby... good job :)
I'm glad you are having pleasant dreams, and the pdoc prescribed a little Wellbutrin for the irritability. I hope it helps.

Bizi, your food intake for the day sounds healthy and yummy :)
I love cabbage. Did you have it raw or cooked? I love it both ways.
Are you still just using the toffee flavored stevia, a different flavor, or do you use the unflavored kind like me?

bizi 01-06-2017 08:56 AM

down some this morning thankfully.
Really had to reel it in due to over endulging over the last month.
I will stick to this diet and refrain from drinking which has too many calories and definately contributed to all of this weight gain.
Know that this is a major struggle for me.
But I will refrain from going on about this struggle here....

I have a new Alzheimer client this morning living in an assisted living locked unit with terrible feet from what I hear. So I asked the daughter to soak her feet and she said that she could not do that as she worked. so She will ask the facility to do that. I will be very surprised if they do this.
I see her at 8;30. This may interfer with her breakfast so am not sure if I will get to see her today or not. I have a 10am appointment. and 3 this afternoon.

It is 37 here and expected 20's tonight. burr cold for us.
Make it a great day yall!

bizi 01-06-2017 09:56 PM

Whole foods for trivia
8 oz of roasted red peppers and sweet peppers
and pineapple and black berries.
small piece of chocolate samples.

I ate a lot but it was mostly healthy.

You are on your way, Bizi.

kiwi33 01-07-2017 06:59 AM

Bizi, I really like your 2017 diet plan :).

I reckon that it is all there; protein, vegetables and fruit, good carbohydrates and nuts.

That is a great combination :)!

OhKay 01-07-2017 07:23 AM

You really do well dropping weight when you put your mind to it. I know it's hard, but I have no doubt that you'll be able to lose weight this time around, too :)

I hope that the visit with your new client went well... that the timing of the visit didn't prevent you from doing your work, and she was able to sit still for you.

mymorgy 01-07-2017 11:01 AM

ii don't want to say how many pints of halo ice cream i had yesterday. they are around 240 calories a pint. I feel so rotten. Pudgie isn't eating much.

Bobby, have you ever tried steaming a califlower and mashing it up with some sour cream and butter?
Great low carb and comfort food.
bizi
hard boiled eggs and mayo are also creamy, low carb and comfort food. could even add a caper or two to jazz it up.
(((((HUGS)))))

Lunch was 6 oz of grilled chicken breast and an oatmeal with apples and crasins from mcdonalds (Not low carb but comfort food) It is cold today!
4 cups of coffee with cream (breakfast and lunch)
Dinner will be talapia and mixed veggies.
almonds to snack on and half an avocado.

I just got back from working out of town, saw 5 people at one retirement home. took longer than usual because one of the residents only son was visiting and we talked quite a bit.
Then another resident was complaining about how they never make her bed up right that it was really upsetting her, every day!
So I volunteered to tuck things in and she was happy.
She is a neat lady, can't remember much but there are clues laying about in her apartment...Little awards of service here and there. She has traveled to the country of dominican republic for some service project. and last month I saw dog tags from the army, she can't tell me anything about her service.
sigh
I work tomorrow as well.
I love my job.

califlower bread sticks

Califlower bread sticks!

1 medium head of cauliflower (this will produce 4 cups of riced cauliflower)
4 eggs
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 Tbsp dried oregano
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp ground pepper
1 additional cup shredded mozzarella cheese for topping
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.
2. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
3. Cut the cauliflower into florets, discarding any large stem pieces. Place the florets into the bowl of a food processor (if you have a smaller food processor, do this in two batches so the cauliflower grinds evenly). Pulse until the cauliflower is chopped into small pieces that are about the same size as a grain of rice.
4. Place the 4 cups of riced cauliflower (reserving any leftovers for another recipe, such as cauliflower fried rice) in a large-sized microwavable bowl, and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave for 10 minutes, or until the cauliflower is tender.
5. When the cauliflower is done, remove the plastic wrap and let cool. Add the eggs, 2 cups of mozzarella, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper and stir to combine.
6. Divide the mixture in half and shape into 2 circles on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove it from the oven and top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella and bake for another 5 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the edges are brown.
Serve with marinara sauce for dipping!

I will think about making this!

I'm so glad you take an interest in your clients and love your job :)

I love cauliflower, but my husband absolutely refuses to eat it. I'd like to try that recipe, but it would be a lot of work for just little old me.

Unless you told him, I don't think he would notice...also maybe you could halve the recipe?

Hot sauce is a great way to jazz up food without the guilt :)
It's great that you love veggies so much. It's hard for people who don't like them, and won't eat them, to diet.

The recipe sounds good, Mari. Simple and worthwhile for one person.

bizi 01-09-2017 08:52 AM

Thanks mari,
that is a simple recipe, even I could make that!

down a couple of pounds this week, bloating going away.

hot flashes are gone maybe the supplement is working completely or they have gone away? I will finish the bottle and not order any more.:)
bizi

Dmom3005 01-09-2017 04:26 PM

Really interesting fact on my hot flashes. When I went to see the nurse who
was prescribing the change in my cancer medicine she mentioned hot flashes
as a side effect for both medicines. But that this new one would be
worse. Since everyone is different, I had small hope for otherwise.

But its beginning to look like this medicine is going to be less than
the other.

I'm glad you lost a couple of pounds :)

My morning weight is 157 right now, and I'm not happy at this weight. Pop Tarts shouldn't be 50% of anyone's diet :roll eyes:
I'm going back on the South Beach Diet again. I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow and will be shopping accordingly. My husband requested chili this week, so we'll have that tomorrow night, and I'll start my diet Thursday morning.

We'll be dieting together again my love :hug::hug:

i have some extra topamax so i am doubling the dosage the past two days.
hopefully it will stop my bingeing. I will speak to my p.c. doctor and tell him how it worked in the oast but my pdoc won't raise it. see if he will prescribe the extra dosage.

For lunch:
chicken quarter and quinoa soup.
I just found out that quinoa has a large amount of carbs: 30 per half cup!!!
Think my soup today had a cup.

Dinner
chicken with a simmering sauce of creamed spinach, an indian dish with chunks of cheese, a side of cauliflower which I mixed with the sauce.
I had a piece of chocolate truffle.
It was very good.

I snacked on a handful of almonds and ate 2 pieces of dried peaches.

I took a nap at 7pm...which is very unusual.
going to get to bed here pretty soon.
bizi

i definately had over 100 grams of carbs today.
trying to keep it under 60

OhKay 01-11-2017 06:57 AM

Quinoa a whole grain and a good source of fiber, so if you had to pick something that would accidentally add to your carb count, you picked something good for you :)

I hope that the unusual need for a nap was just an aberration and you aren't coming down with something

bizi 01-11-2017 07:50 AM

I just found out some fraudulent charges on my charge card. Around $400 worth.
Luckily I caught them with the help of rodney at capital one.
A new card is on the way. It will be here next week.

Some how I was sent a wool dress that I did not order and that is why I called them. IT came from china. I did not order it! So I stuffed it back into my mail box and wrote refused, I did not order this!
Will see if the mail person takes it away tomorrow.

Lunch:
8oz of chicken fahitas
collards
bowl of veggie soup
(lots of cauliflower, squash, tomatoes a little spicy chard yum!).

dinner:
pork chop
turnip greens
half an avocado
dark chocolate truffle

satisfaction. Usually they are pretty good about this kind of stuff.

OhKay 01-12-2017 07:13 AM

You are doing well with your diet! Congrats on the 3 1/2 pounds! :)

I'm glad that you caught the fraud early, and that they were credit card purchases vs. money withdrawls. I hope you get your new card soon!

Good stuff :)

How often are you going to weigh yourself, Bizi? Are you going to do it everyday?

bizi 01-14-2017 10:37 AM

I have been weighing myself daily but I should not do that.
I started at 169 on the 4th and yesterday was 165.7 two days in a row. so that is good. So that is roughly 3.5 pounds lost in 9 days.

I figured out the numbers of carbs for the day yesterday...it took a while even using an easy program. 62 grams of carbohydrates minus 11 grams of fiber equals 51 net carbs. I want to keep it below 60 carbs.
thanks for reading and commenting kay.

Lunch:
12 oz Chicken and sausage gumbo...
the broth has flour but am not sure how many carbs.
6 charbroiled oysters with a lemon garlic butter sauce...delicious!
no rice or bread or potato salad like usual

Dinner:
6 oz of baked salmon with an orange sauce(that has 14 carbs in 2 tablespoons) and grated ginger
1/2 cup edamame (it only had 8 net carbs and 10 grams of protein!)
2 oz of drambuie

bizi 01-15-2017 10:41 AM

163.7 this morning.:)(down 5.3 pounds since 1-4-17)
Bloating is going away, water weight....
yeah!
Maybe I can start during some exercises...I need to go to the gym!. Maybe I can do that today! There is a concert this afternoon, We want to support jeffs colleague Lucus who is playing a clarinet concerto, with the wind ensemble.
He practiced a lot over the christmas break. I think it was unfair to have the students have to perform right at the beginning of the semester. They probably had to work on the pieces over the break which is not right.
I hope they perform well at the concert at 3 this afternoon.
I have billing to do and charting(like usual, am now behind)...
I should not think of it as behind. It is the normal amount that I have to do...about 2-3 times a month. I guess I feel I should do it weekly. Maybe I can work on that.
