Hey everyone

Where to start? Been having a hard time. My mom died of lung cancer in November, no funeral, we had to have our own little memorial service. It was horrible. She suffered so badly. I know she's not in pain anymore but it's been so hard with Mother's day passing and her being gone.

So, I have been sewing a lot. I'll share some pics, I just feel so lost sometimes, it's like a switch goes off around 5-6 pm and I slide into a pit of sadness and despair. <sigh> Sewing makes it go away, but I don't sew at night.

I hope you're all well, I know I have been gone for a long time, but I was dealing with a lot of stuff. Mom got sick fast and went downhill in a day short of 2 months from her diagnosis. Anyway, missing you all. :grouphug:

Hope you liked the photos, not sure why they are so huge...I'll be around a little more. Take care everyone. Thanks for caring.

I appreciate that so much Mari, it's so good to see you. Yes, I was good to her, and we had time to say all the important things that mattered, but it's just so hard not having her here to talk to anymore. Thank you for caring. <3

hi Pammie,
It is good to see you.
Sorry it has been so hard on your family.
I know that mothers day was especially hard on you.
I am glad that you have your sewing.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Pam :hug::hug:

Pam,

Your sewing is amazing. I am certain she appreciated the Muumuus you made for her.

The purses you made look detailed. Were they a lot of work?

Thank you everyone, I'll never forget when she looked at the teal one, the first one we made her. Her expression of amazement was something to behold. I felt such pride, that I had been able to have my son help me create something that would comfort her. Thank you all for caring. I know I've been away for some time. But I never forget my friends here. Thank you for not forgetting me.

The bags are a little bit of work, but they are fun to make. I am making a quilt right now and hope to get one more bag made soon, a new pattern, a hobo style one. It's like I am trying to find the perfect sized bag, and the first one, the navy and cherries one, that was too big, the others are just a bit too small, but they have zipper closures. So I like that. I can't wait to make the hobo, other than I have to wait because I am having the left carpal tunnel released soon. <3

First one with matching organizer:

Here it is next to the one of the ones I made for myself out of animals fabric:

Made a matching one for a dear friend:

I haven't been up to sewing, probably more from emotional anguish than pain honestly. I need to work through it somehow. I have a new tdoc and pdoc and they are great, but it's hard. Very hard trying to learn new coping tools. Been working with Core Mindfulness, it's helping, but only when I remember to use the new skills I'm learning.

I loved the muumuus but I love more the animal ones-so precious
bobby

Pamster 05-24-2017 03:43 PM

Thanks bobby, I am still using that one and my friend is using hers. I was going to make mom and I matching bags, using this fabric but when she got sick I made her the 4th muumuu with it instead. Walmart has it and I bought enough that I have enough squares cut to make my son a quilt of it too. :)

mymorgy 05-24-2017 03:54 PM

oh wow-it sends great vibes!

Pamster 05-24-2017 05:01 PM

Thanks! I made it for a contest, most of the ones in this pattern I did for a contest. I knew I wouldn't win, but I had to try. I enjoyed it, so that's what counts. :D

OhKay 05-25-2017 06:45 AM

You make such beautiful things :)
And it sounds like you really enjoy doing it :)

Mari 05-26-2017 03:28 AM

Pam,:hug::hug::hug:

The purse and the matching organizer are cute.

So are the animal ones.

Will the quilt be made with the animal print?

I hope the Core Mindfulness helps you. Keep trying it perhaps by
doing a little bit each day.

Welcome Back :):):)

Pamster 06-10-2017 10:55 AM

Thanks everyone, yeah I have this animal print fabric, the baby jungle animals one already cut for a quilt, it matches the last dress I made mom. It'll be for John. He needed a new quilt anyway. The one I am trying to get back to though, is a tee shirt one. HUGE project and somewhat overwhelming. That's why I took a break from it for awhile.

I just had wrist surgery, so now both wrists have had carpal release. Hoping to get back to sewing soon. Going to make a Muumuu dress for myself, 3 maybe in different fabrics. Anyway, so glad to make a swing by NT. I missed you all, but I've been having a rough spell and feeling more than a little depressed. Anyway, thank you all for being who you are and for caring.

Nice to have met you PAYNE1. I hope to be around more. Long time member here, but I don't always feel like sharing my pain, you know? It's not easy and thankfully therapy is helping. :)

Thank you Donna, that's so kind of you. ♥ :grouphug:

I'm sorry that you are going through so much, Pam. But I'm glad that therapy is helping :hug::hug:

Pamster 06-19-2017 05:48 PM

Thanks bizi, thanks Kay, you are so kind. I know I go for long stretches, usually those are good productive times. I am in a slump right now, trying to get my palms in order, they hurt so much, the right has a tendon problem that might need a release surgery. (oh joy!) And then the left is angry from the endoscope that did the release on the carpal tunnel. I feel different pain now, it took about 6 months before it really got better.

OhKay 06-20-2017 05:21 AM

All the work you are doing must be good for the soul, but it must be so painful :hug::hug:

Pamster 06-20-2017 05:49 AM

I haven't been able to make myself a dress yet, the muumuu I planned is waiting for me. but the wrist is still not happy enough, almost though. :D It feels much better. Thanks for caring Kay.

Mari 06-20-2017 07:43 AM

Pam,

I send healing vibes and prayers for your palms/wrists.

Do what you can and know that they will get better at some point.

I wish you well.
