Dislocated shoulder

AGH! more frustration! I dislocated my shoulder earlier.

I went for a walk with my carer, eunice and Boo and Small. Bear in mind Boo is a 7 stone Alsation and we had hooked her lead over my left hand, which is twisted and thus acts as a sort of hook. Boo pulled and dislocated my shoulder. It's a nightmare as the dystonia has now pulled it onto my chest and is pulling my basically out of the chair! AGH!!!

Oh I Feel So Badly For Both Of You ..... My Thoughts And Prayers.

Wow, and I thought I had a bad week.
Frogga, I just don't know what to say other than I really, really feel for you. I wish they would be more careful with you. I don't know what 7 stone is so I don't know how big Boo is but I guess it won't take a lot to cause more injury to you since you are so delicate. Can somebody put your shoulder back delicately? Maybe your carer rather than your mother? I want you to get more comfortable not more pain.

Sue, hope the swelling and bruising subsides quickly.

My thoughts and prayers to both of you,
Linmarie

Hi Frogga,

Is Boo a dog. I don't know what an Alsation is but I am assuming a dog.

I let Susan and Travis take Bill's black lab. I would have had to walk her with a lease and I knew I wouldn't have had a right arm left if I'd done that.

I love horses. We had several when Susan was growing up. I have wanted one so bad the past few years. A Palamino, but I know I couldn't lead one or hold him when he's jerking his head around.

We always have to keep it in the back of our minds that there are just so many simple things we can't do. Like you, I've always wished I was like normal people. I know not in this life time. LOL

I sure hope you get your arm back in place and feeling better REALLY REALLY soon.

Hi Frogga,

My goodness how is shoulder now. My brother's shoulder was dislocated while playing football he was in alot of pain. Is your shoulder back in place? One stone is 14 pounds so Boo the German Sherpard is a big 88 pounds.

My mum was English and my father is American.

Frogga he is as big as you, maybe you could use a sled next time.

Much Love, Roz xxx

Hi Frogga,

How is your shoulder today? How are you?

That has to be so painful on top of what else you are going through.

Hope you are feeling better.

Hey guys

Well. Mum tried to put it back, failed, really upset it and is now leaving it to calm down. Then again, I'm not sure the "army" way works with RSD - come on!! I mean when has laying someone on the bed, kneeling above them and pulling their arm ever worked? well, apparently it does in the army, just not with me! oh geez such fun! don't you LOVE mothers!! (my carer said she wouldn't touch it, unsuprisingly). Yeh, Boo is a BIG dog, she is an Alsation/ German Shephard. I guess it will teach me from trying to ignore the spasticity and from just having the lead left over my arm (the wrist and hand is badly twisted and so we can hook the lead over it). GRRR Oh well.

Bubble wrap sounds like what I need!!!!

Love to you all, and glad you got the card Al!!!

Love ya

Oh gosh Frogga,
Does your mum give you a bullet to bite on while she pulls:confused:
We have big athletic men come in with dislocations and they need heavy sedation to get the shoulder back into place.
You are one brave girl----and so is your mum;)
Tayla:hug:

frogga 07-31-2007 12:47 PM

LOL! that is just funny. No she tells me to stop being a baby and does it. Yet she lets her army babies (she is an orthopaedic army nurse) have entonox. Go figure.
