Hello all. Starting an new thread. Its been an interesting day well
not exactly the way we wanted. But everything is going to be okay.

Derrick got burned at work this morning, went in ambulance to ER.
Shannon, I and one of the people at Wabash his provider service met
there. He came home with me. He has some 2nd degree and 1st degree
burns but he is recuperating here at the house with me now.

So its going to be a while.

make sure it doesn't' get infected. I was in the burn unit for almost two weeks and I never experienced such pain.

Hi everyone:

I am taking Derrick to the doctor to have his wounds checked today.
I'm sure everything is fine. But its what the hospital wanted, and
I do too. Just to be sure. And he is still really sore and moving really
rough. So I know he needs seen.

We took Dan to his psychiatrist appointment yesterday. Got a surprise.
Not one I was expecting, along with pouring down rain. My schedule
changed. Dan was sent to the place he was admitted last year about
the same time. The psychiatrist thought he needed admitted, but didn't
seem to know that they would decide there is he really needed admitted
or not. Well I took him after bringing him home, getting his meds. as
requested, clothes for 5 days. And other things he needed. And trying
my best to get him there in about a hour as requested. Its almost a hour
there. But get there and learn, its not a definite admit, its a see if he
needs a admit. And then will decide, ugh. I have Derrick with me in the
pouring down rain. I don't think either of us have the ability to wait for
hours. But we head to walmart to look for him some shirts to wear. And
I get a call, I had called him, and my husband heads over to meet at the place. And he waits for Dan, to learn what is going on. Anyway, I then
take off with Derrick, and it turns off to be a good thing, because I thought
Derrick was going to pass out on me going into pizza hut, but he was fine
just hungry. So we just get home and in walks Dan and my husband right
behind him. It turns out they want him to do a partial from 9 to 3pm the
next two weeks starting this next Monday. Um how is he getting there.

Ugh, that will be decided its doable, Dale will leave his car and take his
truck till I get my mom's car licensed and titled which is this week.
It was why and is why I'm headed to Kokomo today and tomorrow after
Derrick's appointment anyway. I had trouble at license branch need
to see a sister and have her sign a paper. Ugh the paperwork is
getting to be a pain.

Life with me is a bunch of thorns sometimes. Anyway I had them cancel
Dan's therapy appointment today. I didn't want him getting a no show.
Well Dale was so mad he called and rescheduled it this morning.

So I guess he is back to being a dad and is also waking Dan up at 4 am
and giving him his meds, because he isn't taking them correctly.
So he will work this one on his own for a while.

ps. If you don't see me, I'm just gone a couple days.

What an ordeal! I'm so sorry that Dan is having a hard time now. He was doing so well! :hug::hug::hug:

I know it's not a convenient thing at all, but if possible, a day program is definitely more desirable than being kept inpatient. I've been inpatient twice... I'm glad that you guys have found a way to make it work. It sounds like Dale is really stepping up right now and really reducing the burden on you.

I really hope that between Dan going to the program, and Dale making sure he takes his meds right, he'll be feeling better soon :hug::hug::hug:

I hope that Derrick's burns are healing, and he's on the mend, too :hug:

Good luck with the paperwork for the car and getting it registered.

I hope dan stabilizes soon. yes out patient is better than inpatient unless he is a danger to himself or others.

problem they wanted $600.00 of the bat. No clue so he isnt getting to
go. Will have to wait. Derrick is seeing advanced wound care, doctor was upset he wasnt sent straight there. Went tuesday, my friend who helps us met us but neither of us caugh acurcial thing. so he hdreaction to tape. But will changge and should be good. I:m not going to be on much, cant get on computer will work on phone soon. Broke my elbow last friday and know in sling for 6 weeks. I took a weeks medical leave and mayy have to take mor.

I wish things had worked out perfectly for everyone right off the batt. I guess everything may require a little waiting then ❤️

Hope you are not in much pain and if you are that they give you pain killers to help.
Good luck to dan and hoping derrick heals quickly. burns are painful.

I was in Kokomo at CVS with Derrick going to meet an sister the next morning and fell.
Stupid me, just an usual. I'm having lots of trouble moving the arm outside the sling like I'm supposed to. We will see. He gave me tramadol for pain. Thankfully that helps with sleep.

Derrick went back to his apartment, Dale took him last night. I knew it was time. I'm having lots of trouble with pain and sleeping every other day it seems. Which I realize seems odd. I'm honestly doing only what I need to. I couldn't sleep because of pain last night, so I went back to sleep at 11am and slept till 2pm today. Feeling much better. Thanks for keeping up. Dan is having rough time, but will get through it. Kortni told him they are through

so sorry about the pain. Can you ask for something to help?

maybe you could call for stronger pain meds?
have you tried ice or heat? Are you supposed to try to elevate it during the day or just close to your heart/to your body in the sling. Are they wanting you to do range of motion exercising so your shoulder does not freeze up on you?

I'm alternating tramadol and ibuprofen. I'm suppose to two or three times a day move my elbow. My fingers hurt though so its not easy

Happy Mother’s Day!!!

this is an update, and to let everyone know I;m not posting much
becayse the pain is worse when I try o type with the left arm.

I enjoy reading and do as much as I can. I could use iea if anyone knows
about broken elbows, I am supposed to g=be moving my arm around.

But its almost impossible to move it down with out almost it dropping throw pain. Dont know how to q=explain any other way.

yes im thinking about calling doctor

aleve really works well for my lower back pain ..Yes I think you should call your doctor.

The heating pad may help with the pain and to loosen things up so you can move it around better... but I have a feeling you may have already tried that already :hug:

I'm so sorry that it is giving you so many problems and is so painful. I hope that the doctor can provide some help, and maybe stronger pain meds? (((HUGS)))

There wont be stronger pain meds. I am hopng may more tramadol.
pain will call after seeing how weekend goes if its not better. But I know the
[ain will be badtinirriw we have track and the arc prom. Nut it wull br
earlt night

I know somebody who buys cannabis I think off the net. It is legal and helps with her pain. I can ask more about it if you want
