Hi,
Earlier tonight we went to the beach. :)
It was absolutely beautiful. :) It was getting dark when we got there and dark on the way home. I'm glad he drove. Hubby and I did consider stopping for dinner but I decided no. It was my birthday. Then at home watched Bull Durham on Netflix, a movie from the 1980s that I always enjoy. M |
happy happy birthday!
|
Happy Birthday, Mari! :)
It sounds like you had a nice evening :) |
Happy Birthday Mari!
I love the beach and the waves. So healing. |
Happy birthday Mari. It sounds like it was a pleasant evening. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Happy Birthday Mari.
Donna :hug::grouphug: |
ahhh...your happy place the beach.
glad that you had a nice birthday! love you bizi:hug: |
Thanks
Thank you all for the birthday wishes.:)
Do any of you like cilantro? Hubby loves it. I have had to explain to him more than once that people respond to it according to their genes. Apparently for some people it tastes like soap. I can't even abide the smell. M |
I like cilantro in salsa...can't think of anything else....maybe chimicharra sauce.
bizi |
You are right about the soap taste. Neither Corey nor I will eat it for exactly that reason unless it’s in salsa or something else where you can’t pick it out. I know that there are substitutions for recipes out there, but I will usually just omit it.
There was a time not too long ago where restaurants around here were garnishing everything with it! I don’t know why. |
Not a fan of the cilantro. I know people eat it like salid and I could never do that.
I hope you are having a good day and slept well. I have chronic insomnia and have had three nights straight where I got some sleep. Here's hoping we all get good sleep even for a couple hours. It breaks the cycle in a way. I hope I don't jinx myself. |
It's great that you've been sleeping! :)
I hope you got more last night! |
Hi,
I'm hoping to get undepressed somehow. I see the psychiatrist Monday. I'm wondering if we should try some meds again. ---basically something that comes in liquid or other baby doses. M |

Good luck with your sleep.:hug::hug: Hubby puts bunches of cilantro in his salad. I have to leave the room until it's out of the way. M |
Hi
do you want to try aplenzin? I wake up horribly depressed ever morning and then I take it and it really works.. even now with the extra issues. It is related to welbutrin and I think that used to work for you. |
Hi Mari,
I would love it if you were "unrepressed" (((HUGS))) Here is a website that has a table that lists a bunch of meds available in liquid form: Liquid formulations: A practical alternative | MDedge Psychiatry I hope this helps  |
Pdoc visit
Thank you ladies. :)
I asked Hubby to drive me to the pdoc because I had been awake the night before & I did not think I should be driving. I asked pdoc for Ambien (I have NO idea why I said that unless that was due to not sleeping the night before.) Pdoc said 'Yes" to the Ambien and gave me the talk about going to bed when I take it. I agreed. (HA!) Then she started talking about Pristiq. She said something about an earlier visit when she gave me Pristiq. I told her sometimes I don't take things she gives me so I would not know anything about Pristiq or have any experience with it. She ignored that and moved on to type into her iPad and send my prescriptions to the pharmacy. It was a short visit. We drove home. M |
I'm so glad that you went to the pdoc and your husband drove :hug::hug:
Please let us know how things turn out with the Pristiq (((HUGS))) At least you will have the Ambient on hand IF you ever decide to try it again... |
I was hoping the pdoc would have been more interactive during your appointment. You are asking for help. I was on cymbalta, which is related to pristiq. The side effects were limited, except for me I experienced excessive sweating. This became a problem because I was hot flashing at the time so basically a big sweat ball with a shinny red face 24/7. It did help with depression.
I have taken Ambien in the past. It works, but I had to take a break, as it became less effective over time. I had no "TigerWoods" side effects. |
what are tigerwood side effects lol. It didn't work for me.
|
I believe he claimed he was on ambien when he got behind the wheel in a dazed ambien state and crashed his car. There is a known side effect of people getting up and eating things with no recall, for example. So very, very rare. I believe he also had alcohol on board, so it was considered a defense strategy, that failed.
|
I was on cymbalta at one point I loved it. Had to go off because we
had no insurance. And haven't been able to go back on because of the things it would counter effect with my other meds now. And it effected my breast cancer meds. So I am on Effexor xr only thing I can take. Donna :grouphug: |
Hi,
I do not need the Ambien -- it was just something that came out of my head for whatever reason. Have not heard from the pharmacy re the Pristiq. I guess that I will have to call them later today if I can. |

Thank you for the liquid meds. I did not prepare for her meeting like I have in the past -- I only was focused on the drive. I will save the list. I suppose I will get ahold of the Pristiq and try it. If I cannot do the Prisiq, I will let her know that I need to do something liquid and low dose. I hope she would not make me drive in again. M |
You are too much Rain shower LOL :D
I hope that she understands how hard it is for you to get to the office, Mari... But I really hope that the drive in isn't necessary in the foreseeable future because the Pristiq works out :hug::hug: |

Pharmacy this morning said they did not get any scripts for me. =-=-=- UPDATE: The pdoc's office phone says they are closed for the holiday and will open MONDAY. |
When we were wrapping up and pdoc wanted to go to her iPad to
send the scripts, she semi-politely said something about how she could not pay attention to what hubby was saying. I essentially told him to be quiet so that she could take care of the prescriptions.. =-=- Happy Friday. |
I hope that everything gets squared away Monday with as little hassle as possible. I know that you don't like the office staff there. I hope you can email your pdoc? Or leave her a voicemail?
|
Kay,
Maybe I'll call the pharmacy later today / Sunday to see if the meds are there. Then I will call pdoc's office on Monday. |
From what you have told us about the office staff, I would rather deal with the pharmacy, too. I hope that the med is there :hug::hug:

When I was in the Mediare donut hole, I used GoodRx for my meds. I would not have been able to afford them going through my insurance.
|
The person at the pdocs office says they sent in my two new prescriptions.
The pharmacy says they don't have them. I had to keep telling people that these are entirely new meds for me -- no prescription number. Eventually I got a real person on the phone at the pharmacy and she said she would call the pdoc. M |
Glad to hear Mari.
Donna:hug::grouphug: |
Still nothing from the pharmacy.
I do not see myself taking Pristiq.
It's name brand and likely expensive. I am so angry about the process. And one of the side effects is dreams. +++++++++ Side effects: constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, nausea, decreased appetite, hyperhidrosis, xerostomia. anxiety, blurred vision, mydriasis, tremor, vertigo, vomiting abnormal dreams chills yawning ++++++++++ The precursor, Effexor, also causes weird dreams. That's a nevermind re the dreams. |
I had vivid dreams from depakote besides more sh@t. I hope you find something!
|
Thanks, Bobby.
I'm guessing that I'm not getting the med because my insurance will not pay for it. If it is close to Effexor, the pdoc should give me effexor but I already have the weird dream thing. I don't see myself taking either med. M |
You have 2 very good reasons for not taking it Mari. With your history of dream-related problems (dreamlets, etc?) and side effects from medications, I agree that alone would be a big risk
Will you wait until you see your pdoc again to ask for a script for a different medication, or call her? |
I am sorry mari.
Perhaps you could send her a message via the portal. And she would not have you come back in. You could explain that fyou were sleep deprived and was not thinking clearly. which is true. (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
Bobby,
Did the dreams cause you to stop the med? I can understand if that was the case. M |
