I will never stop taking the Methyl B-12
Hi All.
Not only is my neuropathy greatly (and I mean greatly) improved since I began this Methyl B-12 a few months ago, but it really changed my energy level. A few days ago, I thought I would go on 3 times a week. Well, I didn't take the 5000 of Methyl B for 3 days in a row. I simply forgot to take it. If it's not on the table with my syringe of Lantus, well Melody's brain doesn't remember stuff. So for 3 days I didn't take it. On the 3rd day, I got so tired, I slept all afternoon. Now I never sleep all afternoon on any given day so why this happened I have no idea. But I was tired. I took it today. Feel fine. (My arthritis is killing me but that's related to the weather and not to anything to do with neuropathy). But as far as energy, I did two walks, went shopping and didn't have to nap. So I believe (for me), this Methyl B-12 is a keeper. An every day keeper. I'm ordering another bottle. You have no idea how it helps my neuropathy. Thank goodness. Melody |
Hi Mel, whilst i have mucking around trying to get Methylcobalamin, i ran out of my normal b12 Cynnocobalamin about 10 days approx without it, but still took my b complex but anyway 3 days ago i noticed a real slump in my energy so i went and got some more b12, well it give me a boost on the same day i took it, and have remained the same since, i have been climbing up and down a high ladder painting the outside of my house, what a difference the b12 has made.
all the best Brian :) |
I am glad it works
for you.
For me, it makes absolutely no difference. I wish, truly wish it did. - j |
Ah, Dahlek:
I'm so sorry it didn't work for you. Here's hoping that we all find something that works for everybody. Stem Cell therapy??? Someday??? Perhaps??? mel |
I found this website and it lists possible side effects of b12, some of them sound scary...
http://www.acu-cell.com/bx2.html Its about half way down. I wonder how much is too much.... I too take 5mg a day... |
Oh boy, oh boy!!!!
Now I'm completely confused. Rose, please help us out here. I read all the negative stuff and it even included Leukemia and other bad stuff. oh boy. I hope this is all a bad dream. Melody |
The reason I posted that link is because im now confused and worried about any long term effects as well!! Now I don't know what to do, whether to stop taking the b12 or not.....
|
Well, I can't stop taking it. I need it for my neuropathy. I have no more pins, needles, even the burning is letting up so I don't even notice it any more.
So I either have to be worried about 20 years from now (croaking for God knows what reason), or I stop taking it now, drop dead from exhaustion and I have neuropathic pain. It's an easy choice. I'm not giving it up. I can't wait for Rose to jump on board and give us her wisdom. If anyone can put our minds at ease, it's Rose. Mel |
gotta be careful interpreting the internet....
Mark's concerns illustrate how the internet can confuse people.
For example... ANY nutrient taken with cancer has a POTENTIAL, not a guarantee to increase cell division. After all, nutrients improve cell functions, and they will improve cancerous ones too. Good oncologists know how to guide patients in this area. Leber's optic neuropathy on manifests with cyano form B12, and I found papers on PubMed years ago confirming this. It is a toxicity to the cyanide portion of the synthetic molecule. Methyl has no cyanide. I don't know where they got insomnia....that is a red herring, probably from some other website. Notice that no citations are given on AccuCell...that is a clue to be careful. Good sites give the citations to papers so you can read them yourself if you need to. Compare to this site for information: Quote:
This site keeps up with the research and provides excellent data that is documented. So Mark brings up a good point, and it is really important to understand the validity and explanations for things you may find on the net. The brief listing on AccuCell is one thing to watch out for. |
Thank you my dear Mrs. Doubtfire:
Now I can go and act like Jack La Lanne again!!! That man lives on supplements. lol Melody |
In addition to what MrsD posted, the blurb Mark referred to is very poorly written. It makes no distinction between deficiency and "too much." It starts out with deficiency, throws in a side effect that apparently is rare and limited to the cyanocobalamin form, and then goes into problems due to deficiency again. Not a good source of information.

Regarding whether or not B12 makes a difference, it certainly is not a cure-all, does not help everyone.
However, newer people to this forum need to remember that many people benefit hugely over the long run, without having experiencing such a dramatic change. Melody's experience is uncommon but wonderful. rose |
I am so grateful to the makers of Methyl B-12 (and to Rose and everybody else for all their info), that I can't begin to tell you.
The difference in my feet is astronomical. And get this, years ago, way before I had the diabetic neuropathy, I was sitting around the corner talking to a neighbor who happened to work for my doctor at the time. We were talking about diabetes. She knew I was diabetic and trying to control my sugar. This conversation took place about 7 years ago. She said "you do know that when you get neuropathy, there is no cure, it is progressive, you can't stop it, it just gets worse, you do know that don't you" We had been talking about Alan's neuropathy and I happened to mention that he was not a diabetic. She said "oh, that's different, he still has a shot, but if you're diabetic, and you get neuropathy, well, that's it, then, it gets progressivly worse'. OH REALLY!!!!!! Too bad she moved away. lol Melody |
Well, I am sooo tired from not being able to sleep from the extreme stress of this appeal and hearing on the CDs where the Plaintiff's lawyer lied. I can show that what he said isn't what the record shows... but if that was always true and the lower court still decided for him... then how much chance is there?
That is what's making me not sleep. I'm just here to get the link for the sugar thread for a friend. BUT, I had to say that your thread title made me smile. I love it. I'm soooo glad you wrote that. :) |
Keep smiling!!!!
lol Mel |
I wish I could show you the page I just did, devoted to that very idea.
It has to do with how I've lost 10 inches by exercising 3 minutes a day, when I'm well enough to exercise. And other things. thanks, Melody. :) |
Alan's IVIG nurse came here at 1:30, (caught in a severe thunderstorm). She was completely and thoroughly soaked.
So what was Melody to do?? Why, give her some clothes to put on!!! She put her drenched clothing away, and she put on a pair of my black spandex shorts and a nice black and silver shirt. Looking spiffy, she did the IVIG. And we spoke French in between the paperwork and the blood pressure checks. AND SHE ADORES MY MUFFINS. Mel |
:)
Have you been to France, then? |
Mais non, mais Je parle francais!!!
No, but I speak french. Comes in handy sometimes. Sunday I went to a flea market and as I was walking up and down the ailes (there were 50 tables just with jewelry so I was in heaven. I saw two women with hand crafted jewelry and one of them had a french accent. I started to speak to her in french and then I spent the next 30 minutes babbling my fool head off. Never had so much fun. And the best part, she thought I was french?? Now THAT is a compliment. Haven't spoken it that long since I worked for a german company where I had to speak french, english, and if a german telex came in, I had to read it phonetically over the phone to my boss. Now I told him "I speak french, italian, some spanish and of course english, but I do not speak german". His reply "no one can read german phonetically as well as you, just read me the telex over the phone". I did and he said "I understood everything you just read to me'. I said "I'm glad someone did because I didn't know one word of what I said". German is similar to english but I never learned it. But I'm still young!!! lol mel |
