What is up with this???
The search term you specified (to) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific Every time I try to use the search feature I get that message. What is the deal with four words???? (I'm not really crabby I just sound that way) :p |
:Scratch-Head: http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/ph.../confused2.gif
looks like a puzzle for Doc to try to solve for ya Alffe hehehehe nope you dont sound crabby:winky: |
Take out the "To" and see what comes up, it won't accept the search string with less the four letter apparently. ;)
|
Yeah, BUT, "PMS" is only 3-characters -- to those who haven't been 'initiated' it is anyways http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...S/witchchs.gif!!
HAR-HAR-HAR!! Barb |
LOL! I just love this place!!!
ok.... so how do I search? |
Alffe,
It looks the *Powers That Be* have defined the search-term character length as '4' ... which means that if you wanted to search for "PMS", you'd search for Premonster Syndrome instead. Or "ALS" -->> Lou Gehrig's Or "MS" -->> either Multiple Sclerosis or Sclerosis so ... find another way to say what you're looking for. Just cause the door's locked don't mean you can't climb through the window. (Did I ever tell you about the time that my 5-foot, 200+ pound Mom did that and got stuck in the window?? ... I digress: if there's a computer involved, there's always a way around it. Barb  PS: Oh, another thing you might want to try is hop over to http://www.google.com and enter: site:http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com ALS (or whatever your search-term is). |
Ok thanks everybody...I'm going to try again...and won't use the advanced search this time. :D
Right to choose right to life if I leave out "to"....well, let's see what happens. The search term you specified (to) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh....longer. Ok. Right to choose a dignified death. Nope and that was six words. LOL UNCLE! |
I hope we can get this changed, because many times we do search for less than four letter words (which i guess the search terms have to be words that are four letters or longer)...good examples already being stated...PMS, MS, ALS, PD, etc.
Also, I'd like to see the minimum message be taken out. Sometimes I just like to answer with a smiley and it won't take it, or an "OK", or a quick "yes". Thanks, Alffe, for bringing this up! KD |
This setting has been changed to allow 2-letter searches. It is customizable because smaller-letter searches create larger message indexes, and searching larger indexes takes more server load. So we'll keep an eye on this to ensure it doesn't negatively impact server resources.
Thanks, John |
Thank you! I wonder if I have the nerve to try it again. :o
The search term you specified (a) is under the minimum word length (2) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific LOL! What can I say....I'm old! LOL and I don't really want to know anyway! LOL |
alffe....you can pm what you want to search for..i can pm you back any links.

"Thought Provoking"
Just thought I'd mention something else about using the search feature which makes it easier for me to find things.
If you have an idea about which forum the thread or post is in that you're looking for, then you can go to that forum and click "Search This Forum" rather than use the "Search" which is at the top of all the pages and searches the whole website. e.g. if you're actually looking for a post which would include the word "Choice" and you think it's in SOS then go to SOS and "Search This Forum". [ It's on the line where it says "Threads in Forum" above all the threads but below the main "Search" feature. Threads in Forum : Community & Forum Feedback Forum Tools Search this Forum If I need to find something and am not having much luck then I try to remember a user or something else that stuck out about the post or the thread in my mind and add that word as well. Found it yet? Not looking for "Thought Provoking" are you??? |
Bingo! Thank you Lara...thank you all. *grin I wasn't looking for thought provoking per se but found what I WAS looking for. Funny how the searches are different here then in our "home forum".
