B vits & hives
Yes, good point-I'm wondering if it could be from some type of filler in the vit?
My housemate cannot seem to tolerate B vits, he gets a hive rash! Too bad cause I think he really needs those vitamins! |
rashes can be confusing and confounding...
Usually the rule of thumb is that a drug eruption, or reaction to something
taken orally...(some strawberry/raspberry/food allergies) is not typically localized to one area of the body. Usually the eruption is more global. Eruptions that are only in one spot, can indicate something external was contacted and reacted to. This can be soap used to wash clothes, fabric softeners, shampoos, body washes, perfumes, etc. Here is a good website about cutaneous drug reactions: http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsCondit...actionscc.html notice this section of the website: Quote:
you cannot tolerate. Or you have come into contact with something else. There are rashes associated with viruses, and these are called viral exanthems. Here is a good article with pictures about them: http://dermatology.cdlib.org/93/revi...ral/scott.html scroll down to Pityriasis rosea... which is very common. While children are most often involved, adults get exanthems too. Buttons--- look on your Bcomplex list and see if Niacin is in there, as niacin, not nicotinamide. Niacin causes flushing is some people. The flushing can be blocked by taking an aspirin 1 hr before the niacin.(if a person can safely take aspirin, that is). |
yea it could be some thing else mrsd. they sent me home from school today in case it can be catchy  i stop taking them anyways just in case it was them. i do have it in other areas i just didnt want to say :o thank u (((hugs)))

I hope your rash is better today!
Keep us up to date, eh? |
thank u mrsd i still have it today but hopefully it will be better tomorow
|
cheri help me figure out it could be the new sweat shirts i have that is causing the itchy rash thanks cheri :)
|
you are welcome Cybil! :)
I hope that indeed the solution is just as simple as that, and that by washing them first before wear, the rash goes away I learned about the sensitivity that some people have to newly purchased and unwashed fabrics from my Dad, who would break into rashes immediately that any new clothing came in contact with his skin.......it had to always first be washed in a gentle dtergent and thoroughly rinsed hope you rash goes bye bye real quickly! |
also...
We have found in this house, that soap residues can cling to clothing..
and cause rashes... so I double rinse everything and do not use softeners. When Bounce first came out, I saw enormous numbers of rashes... but Bounce has changed the formula some I think. But I still don't use it. |

Hiya Cybil:)
not sure what the "never minds" were about ; but I sure do hope the rash has healed. Rashes are such peculiar things.......this summer, for the first time ever......I have been troubled with heat rash, appearing anywhere that skin touches skin, like underarms, inner thighs etc. I have kept it at bay with calendula cream mixed with diaper rash ointment:o but still it has puzzled me that it should appear this summer and never before. (I have lived in these mid nineties 100% humidity summers here in Florida for almost 16 years now) And, being the physiology sleuth that I am by nature, I am trying to figure what could have been the underlying cause....... anyway, sure hope the clothing was the answer to your rash and that you are ok now :p |
the rash is still there but dont itch no more
|
glad the itch has stopped Cybil and hope the rash will go bye bye too:)
|
thanks cheri :)
