Silverlady in hospital
I've heard from our dear Silverlady, Billye, and her blood counts are low, so she's being hospitalized for transfusion and a search for a site of bleeding.
In addition, her disease has been flaring, and she'll probably be placed on higher doses or stronger immune suppressants. She's got a lot of pain, but amazes me with her spirit. I'll keep you posted as I learn more. OH, I JUST REALIZED---SHE HAS A LAPTOP NOW, AND WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP US POSTED HERSELF IF SHE IS FEELING UP TO IT! |
Thanks, LisaJane
((((((Billye)))))), http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...WELL/gw12t.jpg I hope you're feeling better and that you don't have to stay in there very long. I just saw the other message and just wanted to pass this on. A woman I used to work with a long time ago had a leaky blood vessel in her abdomen. Until they found that and repaired it, she was just like you -- losing it somewhere and not sure where -- OOPS :p Not to mean that *YOU* are "losing it" Take care of yourself, Billye. Pick all the good things off the menu. Watch all the schmaltzy love stories on TV. And get plenty of rest. We'll wait right here for you. BIG HUGS. Gee Whiz....
I hope things go smoothly for you and you get sprung out of there quickly.
Still crossing the finger and toes (even though the toes don't do it very well anymore!) :p  |
I hope they can find the problem quickly for you :grouphug:.
|
My hopes for speedy improvement in our dear Silverlady's condition.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed all the way. Love ya, Melody |
Sending hugs and many healthy thoughts. I know were all thinking of you and hoping for better times ahead and some answers with relief.

Hurry home Billye and get well quickly. As usual I will be thinking of you and saying a prayer as well.
If you can use your laptop it would be great for everyone to hear from you. Tony  |

Thanks LJ
Dear Billye,
Best wishes for an answer, and ofcourse a solution to this problem. I hope you feel better soon. |
I just posted good wishes on the other thread--
--but a double posting of good wishes couldn't hurt, right? :D
Feel better, and let's hope for a short stay and a rapid discovery of whatever might be going on. |
Here is hoping you are out quickly and with a simple answer for the blood loss. If you have your laptop and feel like it, we'd love to keep up with how things are going.

There are days lately where
My 'wishing and hoping' hard for good things to happen just aren't working!
Instead all I should do is send you lots of soft hugs! DO let us know how you are doing? Otherwise our imaginations might run rampant and unchecked, ya know? Hugs - j |
Hope you feel better soon
Billye,
Hope you feel better soon. I'm sorry to hear you're in the hospital but hope you feel better soon. I've not been on here in awhile due to some problems in the family i.e major depressive issue unresponsive to medications tried on. Finally after about the 6th medication I'm starting to come up out of the glum. Good luck! Lynn |
Update
I just spoke with Billye and she's receiving the first of two units of blood. ALREADY she is feeling better. She had gotten so tired before, she was short of breath just talking, and that's gone and she's not done with the first unit. They think the bleeding was from tiny hemorrhages from the Indomethacin she was taking, an NSAID, but she'd been positive for h. pylori, the organism that causes ulcers at Mayo, and was treated, but with so much else going on, everyone forgot to follow up on that.
Tomorrow she will be endoscoped, given another unit, and hopefully sent home. Too much to carry to bring the laptop in today, she said. |
Billye
I know you cant read this yet - but good to hear you responded so well to the transfusion - and hopefully you will be back at home making beautiful jewelry soon....
Take care and feel better:) |
Any news yet?

Update
Sorry, guys, I crashed last night before posting.
I spoke with Billye today and she's home, just very tired, and will update when she feels up to it. The short of it is that she was transfused up to a number she can feel moer comfortable at, and no obvious source of bleeding was found. This is good, and means she was probably just oozing somewhere in the GI tract from the anti-inflammatories, and doesn't have anythign worse happening. The rest is her story to tell....as soon as she's rested. |
