Here's my excitement for Thursday:

I stopped in the chapel on the way out of the huge regional hospital I was in to visit G. Then the lights went and I was in pitch darkness. When the lights came back on, an alarm sounded and it seemed like all the visitors were getting out of the hospital.
I was parked on level 5 of the parking garage and the elevators were out. I walked up part of the way. Soon someone re-set the elevators and I got to my car and got out of there.

It was nice to get home.

That is so freaky Mari! I would have been anxious to get home too. My news isn't that great, kiddo is getting sick, though it might be part of why he's gotten so aggressive with me, who knows? :p

Week in a nutshell!

Okay all get ready for a book! Now keep in mind that all of this has happened since last Saturday......
Saturday - Bought new living room furnature - I finally get my supportive recliner w/ microfiber!
Sunday - Went to my younger cousin's wedding! In case I forgot to mention, he's gay and in Massachusetts gay marriage is legal here. It was my first time going to a gay wedding and it was wonderful. Very sweet and tons of fun! Downside, only 13 people from my family went. It was shameful.
About 30 minutes after I got home, I get a phone call. My grandfather, on my mother's side (the mother I wasn't speaking to until this week), had a stroke. He was in the hospital until Wednesday and now is in the nursing home that my mother works in. Also found out his corotid arteries are 95% occluded (closed). They (my aunt, mother and docs) have to convince him to have surgery to clean it up.
Spoke to both my mother and younger sister for the first time in years during the week. It luckily went well. Things seem to be on an even keel with both of them. I told my sister about being dx'd with BP and apologized for the nasty things I did and said to her during my manic stage a few years back, which caused us to stop speaking.
Wednesday - Found out I have been hired on as an employee of the company that I am contracting with now. It will take effect later on this month. They want all of the benes to start before 11/1.
Friday - Furnature being delivered and because of the rain we have been dealing with here, we can't find a way to get the old furnature out! They don't remove the old furnature! ACK!
Okay I think that is it......it could have been a trigger week for me, but considering it all, I think I handled it pretty well so far.
I haven't skipped a day of work this week and am functioning at work okay. At home, I am just exhausted and have been going to bed early each night.
I just want this week to be over so I can rest.

bizi 10-12-2007 12:10 PM

Wow!!!!
WEndy....that was one hello of a week for you.
Congratulations on you getting this job permanantly!!!!!!!!
and it is amazing how families can get back together, they say time heals wounds.
It was the right thing to do apologizing....I am proud of you for this.
WEll I am so happy that you have remained stable thru this and I hope your funiture makes a happy home for you!
enjoy the weekend...you have had enough drama for the month I think!

I appreciate someone doing the weekly/weekend check in. Because I need to rest a lot and may just forget with these pain meds.;)

I am just going to rest and recup. There is a few books I am going to ask Dirk to pick up for me.;)

Oh, one of James Patterson's book's is on TV tonight. Of course I forgot the name of it.

Hey, I can take off the bandages tonight, take a shower, the put on band aides to cover the drill holes they made. That's my excitement. Living in a sling, taking my arm out to let my arm hang and make little circles with my hand.

See the Surgeon next Wednesday. By then it will be 3 wks till PT.:)

Just really sore, and sleeping is a chore, so uncomfy, plus I seem to stiffen up during sleep, Have to sleep with the sling.:(

Anyway, I am glad the surgery is over, and I think I am doing really well on my road to recovery. He had to take out bone spurs, bursitis, scrap and dig, and some arthtritis. OH, the rotator cuff was good, he nipped it in the bud before it got anymore frayed, which is good, or it would of got much worse.

Mom is doing so great, much more than I expected. Dirk is a sweetheart, I am lucky to have him.:)

Excuse my typing, I get tired and can't do it for too long.

YOu all did great in the OR, wasn't the music nice? The anethesologist was a handsome guy too.. woohoo................HA;)

Hugs, Nikko:hug:

Dmom3005 10-12-2007 02:31 PM

Sending all hugs. Nikko, hope you continue to improve.

I can really sympathize. I was diagnosed with bursitis today.

And am having lots of fun with my shoulder now. Its been going
on for a week. Got a cortisone shot today. But gosh, then had
to go to physical therapy for my feet, and the bad news is
its going to be a week before they can get me in for my
starting on the shoulder.

Hmmm, its just raining and pouring things here. But good news
too. And I'll take it. I am feeling human again in the head.

Dizzy and the things of others feel so much better.

Dizzy - I know mine is my LOW BP it was 90 over 50 when I went for my pre-op and after surgery is was low too.

Better than high BP that's the way I look at it.

I hate the dizzy, wobbly legs I get sometimes though, although they only last a minute or two.

Nikko;)

Mrs. Bear 10-13-2007 01:50 PM

My husband is on a golf weekend with his friends in Nevada and I am home alone with the boys and their friends.

sigh

I miss him so much. It's so funny that after 9 years I find myself even more and more in love with his funny face. I slept ok though. I usually don't when he's out.

He goes every year. They have a golf leage and have been doing this for over 20 years.

I have been oversleeping alot lately. I didn't get out of bed until 12 today. It is so unlike me. And I am still tired. I think it's because I won't let myself nap during the week. And I have caught every virus and cold or bug the kids have brought home since school started. I think I have been sick for 3 months now. Stupid imune system. Poor kids too. Both on anti-biotics for ear infections.

And Wes got bit by a red ant on Thursday and we ended up in the emergency room. I had allready given him benedryl but his breathing was so shallow. They observed him for 4 hours and let him go. The doc said each bite will get worse, just like mine. Thank heavens they didn't have to shoot him up with epinephrine. We just got over a major mania. I don't think I could have handled a second right on top of it.

Who knew rare allergies could get passed down family genes? My great aunt was allergic, I have the allergy and now Wes. Anaphalix is not fun. It is so damned scary.

So. I will clean the house. I can't quite understand how it gets so bad during the week. The boys are horrible at cleaning up after themselves.

Such is life.

It IS very nice to have a calm and fluid day though. Kinda rare with a house full of teenage boys. They are being VERY good today.

Well, I guess they are going to their dads for a few hours. I was just told. Oh well. It's their little step-sister's birthday party. Would have been nice to have an advanced notice though.

bizi 10-13-2007 06:30 PM

I have been oversleeping a lot too bear...but I am not dealing with colds nor flus like you...jstu can't seem to get my **** out of bed these days....
