Any good names to call my puppy?

Hi there
I have just got a 9 week old Springer Spaniel. We don't have a name for him yet.
Does anyone have any good names to call a male springer spaniel?
If so please write back, I really need your help
Many thanks
Alison
PS: My old dog was called Ben, so we don't want that name if at all possible
Thanks again

I am happy for you that you got a new puppy!

When we name pets, we let the new arrival set the pace.
Almost always the name comes from watching the animal interact with the
environment and the people in it.

I like names with more than one syllable because I tend to baby talk to them.
(I know that is silly, but I do). Also since we have 3 cats, I try to pick names that sound very different when calling. She-ba, Tip-py, Or-E-O. I assume they find our language difficult, so I try to make it easier for them. I have a "call" for Tippy, that is very silly sounding, and when I do it Oreo comes anyway. So, for much for that theory! LOL.

Enjoy your new pup! Sounds like lots of fun!

I had a springer once (a long long time ago)

Named him Happy Jack (Jack for short) He had such a happy personality, always smiling, tail up in the air. And Jack cause he used to jump through the fields like a little Jack Rabbit. He would literally pounce on things that interested him in the tall grass. LOL

Hope you have many many years of fun and love with him.

Hugs and Prayers

I've just pretty much known when I got a pet, but there are tons of web sites with animal names. Here are a few for you! Congratulations on your new baby!

That is a great website. I've bookmarked it!

Tippy is on there for cats, but not Oreo! And you know I've seen other cats named Oreo (due to the markings on the face!) So I was surprised at that.
Our oldest and most imperious cat is named Sheba (little that we knew that she would grow into that name! ).

I think the funniest names for dogs are those that are people's names.
Roger, Wilson, etc. We had a cat once named Rufus. And the dog at the end of our street is named Rufus too. LOL

Hi Ali

Springer Spaniels are a regal looking type dog, and deserve regal names.
What about ...............LOUIS..............[french sound as in king Louis]

This "spicey" little guy looks like a "PEPPER"!
I love that name...I've known 2 dogs with that name...are/were the cutest doggies ever!.
Everyone loves spicey foods these days....and Pepper always add's zip to something mouthwatering yummy!....is all you need to complete a "dish".
Blessings....mama to fur babies:
Satin (cuz her coat is soft and silky)
My 3 all black 2 Y O kitties.
Bitty-Boo...my polydactil male kitty who continues his suckling on dog Satin.
Princess...sister to B-boo
Tilley...sister to B-boo
Bitty-Boo is my all time favorite....I've spoiled him and is my baby, always at my side or me carrying him around in baby carrier...
OK...I know thats not normal behavior!...but what is these days? LoL!
Spoiled kitty? Titty-cat! Confused Identity Blind-hems! Spam-Gaurder

OMG Ali! He is SO precious and so adorable and looks SO serious! LOL! Oh, you lucky girl, he just is too awesome for words! I had a friend long ago that raised springer spaniels and I adored them.

These are the names that come to my mind...he looks so, oh I don't know...secretly in command. As if he's thinking "Yes, I know I'm adorable but this adorable exterior holds a very commanding spirit." :D

Now don't laugh at my names (like I am, heh)

Captain
Carlin
Charlie
Clark
Sheriff
Slater
Spencer

I have a friend whose dog's name is Joe, plain old Joe, LOL. And he looks like a Joe.

Thanks for the directions to the picture! Made my day.

Hi there
Many thanks for all of your replies, I really appriciate them.
We have decided to call our puppy "Jack" because it suites him.
Heres what it says about somebodys personality called Jack:
-Brave nature
- Cheers up others
- Has the last laugh
- Loves to travel
- Very clever
- Will defentd what he believes in
- Too good to be true
- Can react quickly
All of these suit our puppy

Thanks for all your replies
